When Bruce woke up from that nightmare at his parents tomb was there a woman in bed with him? It kinda looked like there was but I'm not sure. Just wondering if anyone else caught that.

Yes there was...I seem to recall a body in the bed next to him and a woman's clothes on the floor

yes there was.

did you catch russell crow's voice when the sheep is "waking up" ?
"sheep"? Haha, not sure what you're talking about ha.

Oh OK, "ship" ha, no I don't think I caught it.

Did it bother anybody else that Superman did nothing to secure the Kryptonian artefacts?

yet, people don't understand.

bruce, saw the letter stating he didn't do enough to save his parents / martha, that + what happened in the hall give him the determination to kill superman.

and in the end, "martha" waked him up.

i can't believe you didn't get it, DA_Champion.

I got it, it's just not very good.

how surprised were you guys with the explosion in the court?

Somewhat. It made no story sense as it ended what was a major plot point, congressional hearings on Superman. We also don't need to see piss references in a comic book movie, it was gross just watching that jar.

Okay, I just came back from B v S.

Happy to answer questions, post spoilers or whatever.

Here's my review of the film.

First, I have to say, it was an 8/10. In some ways Man of Steel was a better film, because it didn't have to split attention between different characters.

All it was an 8/10, because I simply love these characters. If I wasn't a fan, it would be a 7 or a 6. Overall, it's a good movie, but not a great one.
BTW Palemonster or whoever he was, that synopsis is pretty much 100% spot on, I'm impressed he remembered so much detail as there was a lot in there.

It's like Snyder almost got it right, but didn't quite - but at least we can say that he made the film for fans (like me).

There are a lot of great lifts from the Dark Knight Returns, so that was cool.

The battle between Bats and Supes is pretty good, although I still thought it was too one-sided - although it was neat when the first krypto gas dose wears off and Batman is basically denting his fists against Supes' face.

The battle with Doomsday was a bit messy, yes WW was great but Doomsday was more of a plot device than anything - the battles in Man of Steel were actually much better (particularly the Smallville fight).
I mean within about 5 minutes of Doomsday showing up they're throwing nukes at him ( hey, great recreation of Superman post-nuke from Dark kNight Returns).

Really I feel sorry for Superman in this film because he doesn't get a lot of lines, but Cavill does well with what he's given.

Also, in one night he gets his mother and girlfriend kidnapped, gets gassed with kryptonite (twice) and smacked around by Batman pretty badly, then he gets nuked (literally), nearly drowns getting the krypto-spear and finally gets impaled by Doomsday....it's the worst night of his life, literally !

Okay, otherwise the first hour is a bit slow, but I found the buildup enjoyable. The fights, a little underwhelming, I can't believe I'm saying this about a Snyder film, but they needed to be longer and harder.

Here's a rundown of performances.

Affleck = great, well past the spectre of Daredevil, he's a great grumpy Dark Knight.

Irons = brilliant, but we expected that.

Adams= great, still the best LL by a long way.

Cavill = doesn't get enough lines, does well with what he gets. I thought he was very good as Clark Kent- reporter. Really, the senate hearing could have been an amazing opportunity for Superman to find his voice - a huge missed opportunity. Cavill is definitely the right guy to be Superman, but needs better service from the writers.

Gadot = good, doesn't get much to do except look gorgeous and kick ass, but she's good at that !

Eisenberg = A really different take on Lex, as deeply unhinged. Maybe a bit joker-ish, but I thought it worked. His facial expressions as Lex were great, you could see that behind his eyes was a seething tortured soul.

I didn't think he'd go that way, but he did it well. A gamble that paid off IMO.

All the bit players were pretty good too, especially Diane Lane.

In the first hour Snyder really grounds Superman and Batman in our world, and I think did a very good job. But the final whirlwind of action doesn't quite live up to expectations, I honestly think he was too restrained. I think the Doomsday fight needed to be longer, and showcase how huge a threat Doomsday was to a greater degree.

So, a worthy effort, and I'll go for a second helping - but not as good as Man of Steel, because it's trying to do too much (actually the recreation of the ending of Man of Steel was one of the best bits).

Final verdict, the fans will enjoy it, but I think the GA will struggle - although I heard some kids coming out talking about how DC films have better endings because the heroes often lose. Which is a fair point.

That's my review, not a lot of detail there, but probably enough to go on. I'm happy to answer any specific questions about the film.

Cheers.

how surprised were you guys with the explosion in the court?
I wasn't at all. I whispered to my friend that I bet somethings gonna go down, maybe with that wheelchair. It seemed odd that they showed the guy going through security checks to try and let the audience know he wasn't a threat but I wasn't convinced. Especially once we saw Lex wasn't even in the courtroom.

I must say I came in the movie Team Batman and I came out Team Superman, I really felt for that guy!

Its funny how he is the most powerfull being on the Earth and still gets bullied.

The explosion was shocking but yeah I expected more from the senate hearings. More Superman, more of a chance for him to confront the accusations.

Seriously, the **** is this piss situation!???

It bothered me that he didn't stand up to it all more.

Seriously, the **** is this piss situation!???

The Senator had a jar of piss on her desk, that the camera spent a long time staring at from various directions over and over, and then there was a bomb.

Reminds me of how in one of those old Superman scripts they were going to have a superpoop gag.

Please: nothing about ****, piss, vomit, semen, menstrual fluids, aborted fetuses, or boogers in my comic book movies.

Seriously, the **** is this piss situation!???

Luthor and the Senator make some analogy about piss when he's BS'ing her early in the movie. She says something like "Don't give me a jar of piss and tell me it's Granny's lemonade" or something. Later, right before the explosion she notices the jar of piss, with a piece of tape on it that says just that next to her.

It was very off-putting, and I don't think my audience even understood it, to be honest.

It bothered me that he didn't stand up to it all more.

Well, in the Batman fight he didn't have a chance to stand up because the kryptonite gas really ****ed him up (twice).

So it made sense that he got pummelled, but I would have liked to see him dish more out - although it is made very obvious at the start of the fight that a fully powered Superman could easily have killed Batman.

Also, the turning point, where Lois intervenes and Batman decides not to kill him and realises he's been duped....well it felt a bit forced and clumsy.

When Supes first appears and says "Listen Bruce...." that was a good start, but I just felt that turning point wasn't as effective as it could have been, too rushed for a start (although the opening sequence it drew on was very strong).

Superman getting a few more punches in there would've been a good start.

It's like Zack and co. listened to the criticism of MOS - the fights went on forever, Superman is too powerful, no one can relate to him...and in reaction we got shorter fights and we saw Superman pummelled, beaten up, tortured, destroyed. There was a point to it, but it went too much in the other direction. I wanted to see Superman put up more of a fight, with Batman and Doomsday.

Snyder clearly listened to criticisms of MoS. There were fewer civilian casualties, there was cursory motivation for things here and there, and there was less action.

But the story didn't flow well.

Also, now that I think about it, Wonder Woman is a lot like Faora. She is awesome in the moment, in the snapshot, but has no arc. I don't think it's a problem though.
