CD Projeckt Red The Witcher 3

Witcher 2077 by Adam Burn

The game is easy if you use this setup - sword techniques + leveled igni and quen. Stones on quen in griffin set. Griffin allows to spam signs. Everyone fears igni. Igni is basically the reason I went through NG+ like a knife through butter.

Igni and Quen do make for an effective and blunt approach to the game combat.

Good lord the start screen background after the new update(Blood and Wine) is gorgeous. Wow.

So yeah, this still works.

Bit of a rant coming up:

I don't regret using exploits at all. IMHo the crafting system in this game is somewhat overwrought already. I get that you are a Witcher and you aren't meant to have a lot of money, but then you open up a new grandmaster armor set in Blood and Wine, and suddenly they want you to drop like $60K crowns on it. The problem? The new armor sets use these really expensive new materials. It's harder to find their base crafting materials, so you mostly have to buy them. Even if you loot lots of extra stuff and sell it, it's still not really enough to get the new grandmaster crafted armor.

This trick doesn't permanently kill Willis either. IMHO, the crafting system and how the game really doesn't want you to have money are among the minor flaws of the game. Not to mention, the game some times screws you out of quest completions due to glitches. The system games you, so it's perfectly feasible to game it back.

PC users are allowed to use mods to do all sorts of crazy stuff in the game. IMHO this is no different. It's not a competitive online game. You aren't "cheating." You aren't hacking the game. I see no problem if players take advantage of this. Yeah you could loot everything you can find and sell, which I try to do as well, but that still takes a lot of extra time and it's still not going to give you that much more.

The reason players are looking for things like this is because CD Projekt RED will suddenly drop players into a quest that will cost them a lot of money. Like say you want to complete the Runewright quest. You have to drop a ton of income to finish that. Just in Blood and Wine, finishing Corvo Bianco costs about 15,000 crowns. Also getting materials to get the higher level oils and bombs. Not all of that is material you will easily find lying around in the world of the game. You will have to go out and buy lots of that cordial drink to make the tons of White Gull you need to finish making decoctions and potions and such. Then you get to Blood and Wine and you suddenly have all these new expensive crafting materials and items that are already in short supply that you need to get just ONE grandmaster crafted set of armor. IMHO it's insane. They want you to grind basically. Most gamers don't like grinding. They want to play the game and have fun. So they will look for shortcuts to get the stuff they want so they can play at their own pace.

Even if you haggle with people over contract payouts in the game world, you still aren't going to get that much more money to invest in all the cool items you want. Players just want to get their gear, use it and have fun. They don't want to spend five hours looking for crafting components or the right combination of crafting components.

I must be doing something wrong(or well, it's more likely I'm doing something right and everyone else is doing something wrong) but Iv never had an issue with not having enough coin to get what I need. I'm constantly picking up items and selling them whenever I get a chance. I just think the gamers complaining want something without having to do the work. Spending an extra 5 hours in the world CDPR have built isn't a bad thing, no matter how you slice it.

You're probably playing it on the easiest mode ;) . I would say that's hot garbage because I've spent hours scavenging the Skellige Isles for treasure and the smuggler caches. That money can still go rather quickly to get the higher end crafting components and materials.

Just for example, you really need White Gull to make a lot of the advanced potions, decoctions, oils etc. White Gull is the key component for a lot of the Alchemy Ingredients. To get White Gull, you need TONS of mandrake cordial in high quantities. And getting it in high quantities from the inns or pubs costs quite a bit of crowns. And no matter how much you pick up dismantle and break down, you are still need to buy more to craft the higher level armor sets. Venomous Viper armor was like the only advanced set that you didn't have to break the bank to make.

And why do you need to spend money on those? Once you get to higher level enemies and your level has maybe plateaued, you need those potions and decoctions to give you an extra edge for your battle skills

For another there are some quests you have to spend a ton of money on to complete. The Runewright quests basically knocks off 30,000 Crowns right off the bat. Most of my Skellige treasure almost all went into finishing Runewright's quest, and that nearly cleaned me out.

Finally got HOS and BAW expansions!, first time I ever buy an expansion too!! A couple of quest seem a little buggy, and there is a golem with no health that will also not die, but other than that everything is working fine.

I haven't had any issues with coin, and I didn't use any money exploits. I have, like every other RPG I ever play, done alot of collecting and selling of stuff. And I'll hold on to some stuff to see if I run into better prices at other merchants. There's a merchant in Toussaint near the cemetery, inside the two story tavern. It's the place where you get a Witcher contract about loud noises coming from the cemetery, and the merchant is someone you need to save from a sidequests (about three brothers). I mention it because he will buy everything at full price. His pouch is small, but I wind up buying all his food and wine and offloading weight and selling jewelry at full price at enough of a pace that I see a rise.

I'm pretty sure they adjusted prices, too, for weapons and armor you pick up from bandits to sell off. I'm looking at maces, warhammers, and swords I'll never use going for 150-350 crowns. Raid enough bandit camps, find enough guarded treasures...all of those have helped me alot.

I just finished Blood and Wine...and holy hell was that amazing. It's amazing how much content there is for the price (I paid $17.99, it was at a discount right before it launched on PSN). There's a ton of stuff, there. Alot of replayability and the storytelling is as amazing as you'd expect from CDPR. True to The Witcher name, it's pretty subversive too. The story, and the themes, they touch on go places that are very interesting. The manticore gear was awesome, getting to see Geralt in his Witcher 1 attire. The ending was perfect, too.

Nothing but good things to say about Blood and Wine, really.

It's still not enough for the high end materials you need for the grandmaster armor for Blood and Wine. They created new expensive materials that's required to complete those armor and weapon sets.

Oh yeah, that's true. Those are crazy expensive. Even with the money I have, (about 80,000) I'm hesitant to drop the coin. I'm sure you've tried it, but, what I've wound up doing is buying the materials on the lower crafting components, like paying less than a 100 per for green mold to craft Oralicum Ore, and then to craft the higher level materials. So, I wound up paying like 90 crowns per for materials to then craft Enriched Dimeritium Ore, then craft Enriched Ignot, and then craft the plate (if needed).

I'm pretty sure I saved coin, the prices were way lower than buying the materials directly, and because I think outright buying the exact material on the Gear crafting page itself was high. I did have to do quite a bit of meditating so he'd restock on the lower crafting material so I can craft up and up to get the final materials. And I've run low on poison or venom extract leading me to kill monsters for it.

I've tried that, but you still need to buy a lot to get all the plates and ore you need to complete just one set of grandmaster armor and weapons.

It's fine. Willis served the cause well. And it didn't kill him permanently. Also the exploit was revealed on the major gaming websites.

Yeah, it's alot of things to keep track of. I haven't done the math, but I'm pretty sure it's cheaper though. Straight up buying the plates was insanely high.

Btw, anyone have tips for NG+? I've gotta do cleanup work on my playthrough, discovering locations and monster nests/dens and treasure. I'm at level 53, so I figure I'll probably wind up entering NG+ at level 55 (more or less). I might not even be able to fully unlock all 12 new mutations, either. I've seen some conflicting comments about what transfers, and things about BW level scaling past 100 as well.

EP Daily Rundown for July 6, 2016

Today in the Rundown, Red Dead Redemption gets backwards compatible on the Xbox One, we find out when PES 2017 will hit the field, the augmented reality game Pokémon Go finally begins rolling out, Nintendo continues to embrace mobile gaming, the Harry Potter universe get
a lot more magical, and finally, The Witcher 3 gets a Game of the Year edition!
We’re still waiting for a new Red Dead game, but the last game in the series has come riding back into town. Starting this Friday, Rockstar and Microsoft will make 2010’s Red Dead Redemption playable on the Xbox One via backwards compatibility. This means anyone who has a copy of the Xbox 360 disk will be able to play it,
and best of all, the backwards compatibility will extend to all versions of the game, including its standalone Undead Nightmare expansion.

If you don’t have a physical copy, you’ll also be able to buy the game digitally though the Xbox One store. Red Dead Redemption is easily one of my favorite games of the last decade. It’s basically Grand Theft Auto in the old west, with a massive and detailed open world filled with all kinds of turn-of-the-century mayhem. The backwards compatibility was just announced yesterday, and it’s already caused a massive spike in sales of the Xbox 360 version. On Amazon for example, sales have gone up a whopping 6,000%, and you can expect to see similar numbers in game stores across the globe. The lasting popularity of Red Dead Redemption makes it that much more likely that Rockstar is working on a sequel. There have been plenty of rumours, but so far, no official announcements have been made. Hopefully that will change soon.

The UEFA Euro 2016 soccer championships are about to wrap up, but virtual soccer season is just getting started. Konami has announced that PES 2017, the latest game in the Pro Evolution Soccer series, will launch in North America on September 13 and globally on September 15. This will give it a two-week head start over the biggest soccer game, FIFA 17, which is set to hit the field on September 27. PES 2017 will offer better graphics than the previous games in the series, and Konami has also overhauled the passing system to make it feel more realistic and authentic. You know, the usual kind of updates that you get out of these annual sports games. The PES series is one of the last big franchises from Konami; the publisher recently announced its intentions to move away from AAA gaming to instead focus on smaller mobile games that are less risky and more profitable.

Speaking of mobile gaming, it’s time to catch ‘em all in the real world. The augmented reality game Pokémon Go has finally begun rolling out worldwide. At the time we’re shooting this, it’s currently available in Australia and New Zealand, with a North American release expected to go live in the next few hours. Pokémon Go uses augmented reality and GPS to allow you to seek out and catch Pokémon that are hidden in real-world locations throughout your hometown, and you may even cross paths with other Pokémon trainers that can challenge you. Like most mobile games, Pokémon Go is free-to-play with in-app purchases, and there’s also an optional bracelet for hardcore players that syncs with your phone via bluetooth and lets you know when Pokémon are nearby. The Pokémon Company made the game in partnership with Google’s Niantic Labs, which created a similar augmented reality game called Ingress. This is the first big Pokémon game made for iOS and Android devices, and given how much money it’s probably going to make, don’t expect it to be the last.

And frequent Pokémon collaborator Nintendo is continuing to embrace mobile gaming of its own. Following the release of their first mobile game Miitomo, Nintendo isn’t backing away from creating games for third-party platforms like iOS and Android devices, and now they might be getting into the third-party mobile hardware business. Speaking with shareholders, Nintendo’s general manager of entertainment planning and development Shinya Takahashi revealed that they’re thinking about creating a Nintendo-style physical controller for smartphones. As a big mobile gamer myself, I can tell you that these kind of controllers make mobile gaming a lot better, giving you the feel of a custom gaming handheld like the 3DS. If Nintendo starts making them, it seems like a match made in heaven. Takahashi adds that Nintendo still plans to make mobile games that work without a physical controller, and they’ll continue experimenting with different methods as they grapple with the new challenges of mobile development. Nintendo was one of the biggest holdouts against the rising tide of mobile gaming, but finally relented last year. Miitomo was released a few months ago, and Nintendo is currently working on mobile games based on the Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing franchises. Expect those to arrive later this year.
Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling isn’t abandoning her wizarding world anytime soon. She’s already written a sequel to the upcoming Potter prequel Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. That’s according to the film’s director David Yates, who tells Forbes that the sequel script is finished, and she’s already coming up with ideas for a third instalment. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them takes place in America in the early 1900s, focusing on a new character, Newt Scamander, who specialises in magical creatures. Unlike the Harry Potter tales, which were books before they were turned into movies, Fantastic Beasts was written first as a screenplay, making this the first time Rowling has written a film herself. The first Fantastic Beasts movie will hit theatres this November. If you need more magic in your life, Rowling has also published several new short stories revolving around the film. Back at Hogwarts, she’s written the stage play Harry Potter And The Cursed Child, which serves as a sequel to the main Potter series and features an adult version of Harry. That opens in London’s West End theatre district later this month, and don’t be surprised if Hollywood tries to turn it into a movie as well.

Get ready for another wild hunt in the massive world of The Witcher 3. Following a leak that appeared online yesterday, developer CD Projekt RED has officially confirmed that they’re working on a new Game of the Year Edition of The Witcher 3. It will include the original game plus all of its DLC and expansions, along with all of the smaller updates and tweaks that have been made since launch. Calling this a Game of the Year Edition makes a lot of sense; The Witcher 3 won numerous Game of the Year awards from many different outlets, and it swept our own Rocket and Raygun Awards, which you can watch by clicking the link on your screen or in the description below. The Witcher 3: Game of the Year Edition will launch on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One later this year.
This isn’t the only new Witcher experience on the way. CD Projekt RED is also working on a digital card battle game called Gwent, which will be a standalone version of the card minigame that appears in the main Witcher adventures. A closed beta test is scheduled to begin this September on the PC and Xbox One, so expect the final version before the end of the year.

Is this the end of a trilogy or at least the franchise with Geralt? I haven't beaten the main story yet but I was googling for images of Geralt and saw article headlines talking about reasons why this game needs to be the end of Geralt's story and about where the franchise could go now.

I never played the first two games but I am instantly in love with the characters and world, But so am I too late?

well your a bit late to the party but yeah it's supposedly Geralt last run in the series. they will be headed to a new protagonist after this and after they have done with their other project cyber punk .

It's possible it will still be in the same universe using his former student who's a female witcher or they might create a new character altogether. they are still deciding on who the new protagonist of the new witcher series will be.

as to the trology series maybe they will do remasters or remakes of the first two games on the console

If you own an Xbox One you can play the 360 version of Witcher 2 on that. You could also read the books.

Witcher 2 is BC? Cool and yeah I'll be checking out the books

All of the books except the Lady of the Lake, have officially been translated into English. Lady will be released next summer.

I wouldn't count on any type of remaster of the original game on consoles. They would have to put way too much work into redesigning the core systems. It was never designed with a console in mind unlike the second game which reeks of "Consoleitus". Not that Assassins of Kings is bad, but it is the shortest and smallest game in terms of scope in the trilogy.

I'll probably wind up re-buying Witcher 3 whenever the GOTY Edition rolls out for Xbox One.

The interview I read with the head of CDPR said this is the end of The Witcher. Didn't sound like it was just for Geralt, but the universe entirely. Unless the shareholders make them develop a new Witcher game, that is.

But, then again we're getting Gwent which will also have a single player story of some kind.

I've been holding off this game for the GOTY edition. So I'm excited.

Yep its BC. The digital version was free for Xbox a while back and recently went on sell for like $4.99 so keep an eye on the microsoft store for another sell on the digital version of the game.

The physical copy is betwewn $18 - $20.
