Isn't Wrestlemania usually 4 hours instead of 3?
the HHH matches give it a 4hr feeling ( took him like half an hr to pin booker T I remember)

As for Dwayne Johnson's box office success again, boots to asses...

So over the last 4 years, the average amount of wrestling is 112 minutes. I don't think anything is going to go thirty minutes this year, and Cena and Rock would be better off going shorter this year.

I haven't really followed WWE as closely in the past few years, but from my understanding, they've gone as established themselves more as a Sports Entertainment brand than a Wrestling brand. I agree that the PPV should be where they go all out, especially at the Grandest Stage of them all, Wrestlemania, but its not surprising to see them focus on other stuff, whether it be backstage drama, the Hall of Fame class, celebrity guests. Its a shame, but its just another sign of how much things have changed.Boy...thats just sad. Its called WRESTLEmania not TALKamania or VideopackageMania, WWE. For a 4 hour show you'd think more than half of it would be wrestling. TV is for talking. PPV should be more for action but it seems like even on WWE PPV's we are seeing less and less relatively speaking. If I wanted skits and talking I'd just watch Raw. I don't have to pay almost 70 bucks for one three hour Raw.
This is a big reason why I really hope they don't do something stupid like have Punk end the Streak. Ever since the Streak became a thing worth noting and talking about in the buildup of his matches, every match that the Undertake had felt like its own main event. But now, with the Undertaker showing up just weeks before WM, with no real rivalry or opponent who wants to take him down, it seems weak and almost too predictable that he would win.Pathetic to hear that creative clearly had little planned for this, even with the passing of Paul the whole stealing of the urn thing feels like it belongs for a build towards any other B level PPV not a Wrestlemania build in this day and age. Punk/Taker should be grand instead of an afterthought.
Not a fan of the design, but Paul is awesome! He's re-leathered a few belts for me. Nice guy too.Have people seen this re-leather of the US title a fan did? He should sell the design to WWE or something, it looks bloody amazing imo.

Yeah, sounds like it. Yeah, him and Owen had some good confrontation and bouts. I agree about Severn too.I don't think he enjoyed the lifestyle. He talks about WWE about fifteen minutes into the video.

I don't blame him for not wanting to do an incest angle or some of the other angles. It's interesting that he and Owen shared the same issues with creative. They worked well together. Also I thought it was awesome when Dan Severn joined the roster for a brief time.
I agree. Though I guess with the roster being a bit crowded in the ME scene around the time Shamrock was there, that there was really no space for him.I was always surprised they didn't do Austin vs Shamrock, the toughest SOB in the WWF vs the World's most dangerous man seemed to write itself, the redneck brawler vs the MMA specialist. It always made me wonder if Shamrock had something in his contract where he couldn't lose clean.
Yeah, they had a couple of good bouts on Raw. Once for the WWF title, and then later, an 'I Quit' match.I remember seeing that match on Raw for some reason. I think Austin wrestled his ass off
Yeah, the stooges interfered near the end, if I remember correctly. Yeah, I agree on the latter, I was actually discussing that exact same scenario a little while back with some buddies.I knew they had a match on Raw but I didn't know it was an I Quit match, I bet ended without a proper finish thgough.
I always thought in 99 that Shamrock was an ideal choice to be Vince's guy after Rock turned face, Shamrock could have slipped into the role as Vince's corporate weapon going after Austin and the title.
Isn't it five hours this time with the one hour pre-show?
I wouldn't be surprised. Afterall he wouldn't want another fighting style product looking better than his.Thats a great idea. They could have even played up Shamrocks MMA background as making him superior and used it to piss off wrestling fans. It could have gotten Shamrock and Vince more heel heat.
I wonder if Vince looked down his nose at MMA too much to put it over like that...especially then before it really took off as more mainstream?
I'm going to the Raw tapings in April, and at the moment it looks as though I won't be seeing Punk.![]()
