The Wrestling Thread Has More Hype Than WrestleMania XXIX - - Part 92

WWE's production truck had to act quick to muffle that huge Punk chant. :funny:

Solid enough segment, I hate the whole angle being built on Paul Bearer's death though, it just shows they had nothing planned. Heyman actually looked like a pretty passable cosplay Bearer, Punk as usual was a magnificent bastard.

Paul Heyman as Paul Bearer? I was wondering how long it would take before we saw that. Creepy and hilarious. And creepy.

Despite all this stuff a large portion of that crowd was STILL chanting CM Punk. I love it. I did enjoy him dressed as a Druid to attack Taker. I'll say this Punks giving it his all.

All this to get him heat. So Punk poured ASHES from the Urn in Takers face. Wow. Just who's ashes are they implying those are? I've never considered the urn as containing just ashes and even if they did they should have been his parents in the past. Either way there's no way Punk has a chance of winning now. They are making him look like a total b*stard.

How could that be his ashes? He carried the thing himself for years. :funny:

I don't pretend to be a wrestling expert, but I thought it was supposed to be the ashes of Undertaker's parents in the urn.
I always thought it was something mystical like the Spirit of the Undertaker, at least that's what I remember when he returned in 94 to fight the fake undertaker. I remember Bearer opened it up and a light came out of it.

The chant for Punk was as loud as Taker's, and it happened while he was attacking with the urn! The man can't be booed.

Dark match: Cena/Sheamus/Ryback vs Shield.

Later guys...

I could see that coming as soon as the druids came out. Funnily enough I only just re-watched the segment when Austin did the same thing to the Corporate Ministry some years back. :D

Vince McMahon has started tweeting. That has the potential for entertainment.

It could simply be..Punk using sand to represent Bearer's ashes to get even more into Taker's head and piss him off as much as possible,It's been Punk's tactic since their feud started

Lol...I guess as of now, in WWE Land, Taker throws anyone ashes in there as soon as they kick off. Must be getting pretty crowded in there at this point. Maybe Fake Undertaker is in there too?

Maybe its like Genies bottle and you can hop in for a dust up good time?

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if Punk shows up at Mania with what is 'actually supposed to be' Bearer's ashes.

I knew Heyman was going to come out dressed as bearer But I thought Punk was going to come out dressed as Taker

I always thought of it as possibly his parents ashes but also vessel holding a great dark power. Something that connected him to the mystical powers of the dark side like a switch or a channel. Either way (or both) thats why he worshipped the urn and submitted to it. Thats why it had a certain amount of sway over him. It was the link to the true source of his powers and maybe a personal connection to his past.

Its either the essence of death in the urn and/or his parents ashes and thus his connection to the dark side.

I cannot wait for Vince McMahon's post Wrestlemania rage

Can't wait for post Wrestlemania roster clean up!Last year took months though right?Close to summer I think

Even though it has not started, I can already tell that the last Super Bowl is a billion times better than Wrestlemania 29.

I doubt I'm ordering WrestleMania, not because of the ending of RAW, just not feeling the card this year.

So Taker being beat down means that Punk is going to lose, at least according to the tradition of having momentum going into the PPV.

I could only imagine the heat on Punk if he beat Undertaker on Sunday. That was a good ending to RAW.

This will be the first WM I skip from watching and just read results,I'll watch Taker vs Punk though when it gets uploaded on YouTube or added to a DVD

Was there really a clean up last year? I only remember a couple firings. Most people that left did it on their own terms.

I'm starting to watch the rest of Raw. Cena needs to turn heel , that promo sucked. You can't blame the crowd for chanting boring when he says the same crap over and over.

That was a different, much larger, urn.

The chant for Punk was as loud as Taker's, and it happened while he was attacking with the urn! The man can't be booed.

...

He's entering the same territory as Ric Flair when he returned to WCW in '92 or '93. No matter what he did, a large portion of the audience cheered him, even against the top babyfaces.

Even though it has not started, I can already tell that the last Super Bowl is a billion times better than Wrestlemania 29.

The Super Bowl was a debacle that looked as if it could have been the work of WWE's creative team.

So Taker being beat down means that Punk is going to lose, at least according to the tradition of having momentum going into the PPV.

I had hopes for Punk ending the streak until I heard he was taking time off after WM. Now I'm doubtful since it wouldn't give Punk momentum for a subsequent storyline.

Cena's not a good mic man, and never has been. He's at his best when he keeps it short and serious. But you're 100% spot-on about the heel turn. Without Punk, WWE's post WM prospects are bleak unless they shake up the status quo.

from Bret Hart's facebook page :

I really liked the Bella's match tonight, and the angle Punk did with Undertaker was brilliant. The spilled Paul Bearer ashes might seem in poor taste but Paul would've absolutely loved it. Raw was excellent overall.

I'm surprised Bret would like&defend something like that

That's exactly what I'm getting at. I'm not a Cena hater , but there comes a time when you need to change direction. I liked Cena's mic work against Rock last year , but it feels like there is no passion this time. Some of it is because the storyline is nonsense. You can't make the franchise player an underdog. Hell , they didn't even try. Vince is trying to retcon 2012.
This Cena vs Rock rematch has been poorly built. CM Punk using old school heel tactics looks brilliant in comparison. I'm worried about what will happen when Punk takes time off( assuming he does).
