The Wrestling Thread Has More Hype Than WrestleMania XXIX - - Part 92

5 Star Wrestling sound interesting ( goes over and hugs PS3 ).

I've grown tired of the THQ/Yukes games being essentially the ONLY game in town.

But, I hope you can create CAWS in the game. Can't wait to see more of it.

It doesn't. Brand extension has been over for more than year. They need to get rid of the heavyweight title and place that focus on the IC and US titles.

My feeling on titles:

- Unify the WWE and World titles: there only needs to be one "best in the company" right now.

- Retain the US title as the secondary heavyweight title, and have higher profile guys feud over that (like Orton, Del Rio, Jericho, etc.)

- Turn the Intercontinental Championship into an "unofficial" global cruiserweight or X-division title, see if it works out. Use it as a vehicle for staging exciting matches featuring guys like Tyson Kidd, Seth Rollins, Justin Gabriel and Sin Cara. Import a couple of other skilled competitors from Japan and Mexico. If this doesn't work out and the crowd doesn't take to it, just quietly turn the IC belt back to a secondary heavyweight title, no harm, no foul.

They have two titles so they can have a champion each at house shows. One could argue that the IC champion could serve in the same capacity, but the belt isn't on that level.

Antonio Cesaro doesn't have a match at Wrestlemania , but P. Diddy and Pee Wee Herman will be there :cmad:

Does the World Heavyweight Champion really even "matter" now? Like does Smackdown treat it as their top belt, like Raw does the WWE title, or is it just a secondary title? I miss when Smackdown and Raw both has separate, but both very good, rosters and titles, but the Undisputed champ could go to either show.

The World Heavyweight Championship has basically become what the Intercontinental title used to be. I'm all for keeping two top World titles around, but if they are going to keep it how it is, then I'd rather they scrap the WHC, and put the IC in that spot and give it some more credibility like they used to.

Thing is, the WHC only 'really' seemed to matter and be on par with the WWE Championship (and in some instances feel like it meant more) when it was around Helmsley's waist on the 'A' show, so no surprises there. Once he lost it to Batista, Cena came over with the WWE Championship to the main show and Batista went to Smackdown. Since then it's basically been the same level of credibility and importance as regards to those two titles as it is today.

- Best moment of the night: Shawn Michaels' appearance! Oh come on, who didn't think I wasn't going to say that? :D He's still the man.

- Best segment: HHH/HBK and Lesnar/Heyman. Heyman and HBK are just masters on the microphone. You can't teach this stuff.

When I saw at that start of Raw that HBK was there my first thought was "At least my dude Sage will get to see the GOAT!" :D

Agreed, it was one of those promo segments where the young guys in the back needed to be glued to the monitor trying to sponge up what was being shown to them about selling a feud on the mic.

Orton gets a strong face reaction from the crowd. It never sounds mixed.

I think mainly because while he's dull he hasn't morphed into a grinning, joke spouting superface since his turn, plus he hasn't been shoved down throats.

Best of AJ Styles Vol.1&2(don't know IF you have both)
Global Impact Japan
Fandimonium:Beer Money Inc.&Motor City Machine Guns
Christian Cage:Instant Classic
Best of the Blodiest Brawls vol.1&2
Kurt Angle:Champion
Best of the X-Division vol.1&2
Ultimate Matches
Best of Tag-Teams vol.1
Sting:Return of an Icon

Is the Last Man Standing match between AJ and Bully on any of these?

Nope But it deserves to be on a"best of"DVD

I'd love to see Cesaro replace the United States title with the European title, however only as a replacement for the United States title, as we don't need anymore titles floating around.

It is a shame they will probably feed Mark to Ryback.
In my mind I just can not see Ryback beating Mark.

Is it really in question what is going to happen?

Ryback is going to lift him up for the Shell Shock, and it's going to be trumpeted as some great feat of strength that Ryback was able to do that, and it's going to be the "OMG MOST AMAZING THING EVAR" and highlights will be shown right alongside Hogan slamming Andre The Giant.

It couldn't be any more obvious that is what they are trying to do.

The Wrestling Thread Won't Waste it's Breath Talking About Dwayne's Johnson :lmao:

Yep. When Triple H had the WHC the belt was supposed to be as big as the WWE title, but as soon as he lost it that belt was basically given to guys just to say that they're world champion without the feel of being a top guy. It still drives me insane how it undermined the Undisputed belt. Jericho wins the unifying titles, and that is supposed to be the grand belt that shows up on both shows. Triple H wants his nose plastered everywhere as the top guy, so he just had to bring back a belt that was supposedly unified months before hand, and he was the guy who beat Kane to discontinue the IC title for a little bit when Bischoff was running Raw. When I look back it's no wonder why Smackdown was so much better than Raw when the brand split first happened. Heyman had the great mind for things, they had the better talent, and there was no Triple H influence. Mr. H's is a great wrestler and all, but his ego made Raw hard to watch back then, and I feel like a part of that hurt the IC title going forward.

If Cesaro gets a throw on match, who do you guys think it would be against? He's grown on me a lot but still hate his character.

He was the reason I stopped watching then. Triple H in 2002 and 2003 was unbearable.

I like WWE 13', but damn Yukes need get some better testers. They have great ideas, but they there's always so many small errors that keeps it from being great. Hopefully 2K/VC does that because the main problem with WWE series of games is that it's lack fine tuning and the last few years need more to be a better quality games. Bugs, collision detection problems, and simple options such as copying wrestlers should be easily solved by looking over the game again, but you can see that Yukes rushes these games out year after year.

Cesaro vs. Kingston. No personality on either side, but a damn fine technical match at least.

I like Cesaro as a worker, but I have been increasingly been of the opinion, and am almost certain of this by now, that he simply is not cut out to be a personality-based standalone wrestler.

I see him more as a Chris Benoit type, or a better comparison perhaps being Paul Orndorff. By himself he is lacklustre, especially when he tries to foist a gimmicky personality on himself, which the crowd is responding to cautiously at best.

He either remains a quiet, dependable worker (which will limit his career prospects) or he eventually gets paired with a more personality-based valet or manager. The best case scenario I see for him is becoming part of a stable, and serving as the Paul Orndorff/Barry Windham role. This will allow him the occasional top-tier title match against a strong face, while retaining him mostly for the upper mid-card, which is he essentially belongs.

Urg that creep Herman, no one outside of America knows nor cares who he is.
What a was of expensive PPV time!
