The Wrestling Thread is now nothing but recaps from last week - Part 71

Did anyone mention the chance that Joe might be behind Aces and Eights?

I doubt it, but Richard Trionfo of PWInsider.com picked up on Hunter Rider's idea that Bully Ray might be involved with them.

He theorized that because Bully has been so vocal about Storm being in cahoots with them, and he hasn't technically been touched by the group, plus given his persona, Bully is part of the faction.

Anybody except JJ being behind it would be a great swerve..Well to the IWC!

I reckon because I wasn't crazy about the show and it seems our tastes in wrestling are pretty close most of the time. I liked it a lot, but I guess after the last two PPV's I was a little let down in some ways.

There was not a bad match on the show though, which is always a good thing and the last two matches were great. I think my expectations were a little higher which contributed to thinking the PPV was very good, rather than great.

TNA definitely treats their product and audience with more respect (for the most part) than WWE right now. It's a shame they are not on a larger scale at the moment.

We both seem to agree that the ref angle at the PPV in the main event seems like an out for Roode to get another title match. If not than it was pointless to book the match the way they did.

If TNA for some reasons decides not to give Roode a rematch or doesn't put the title back on him by BFG, who would you like to see in the BFG main event against Austin?

My vote would go to AJ, Bully, or Angle.

Well it could partly be that I didn't really like Destination X except for Angle/Joe and Roode/Aries. I think what I liked about Hardcore Justice was that it had 4 big matches and they were all centered around wanting to be World Heavyweight champion.

What I like about TNA is that while they do have their WTF? moments, I don't feel like I'm watching a show were one guy matters way more than everyone else, and you can be a face and still have some edge and be real, TNA's top faces are all very different and that is refreshing.

I'm almost certain Roode gets a rematch due to the double finish as the ref saying he'd won was the official match ref, the way they did it allowed Aries to look strong and not come off as a fluke with one win.

If they go into BFG with Aries as champ I'd say AJ or Angle would be best if the idea is to cement him, personally I'd pick AJ. However I just can't see them pulling the rug out from under Storm, he wins the BFG series and goes to BFG to face Roode with the Aces & 8's conspiracy hanging over him.

Nation of Violence 2.0!?,I'll laugh IF he says these guys are the ones that kidnapped him last year or so!

Why not? Joe leading a gang, his Nation of Violence gimmick finally used well. His loss to Aries at Slammiversary could be what sets him off into doing this.

TNA has purposely rotated the some of the guys who have been playing Aces & 8's so that no one knows who is actually going to be a part of the group in the end.

So, who would you guys like to see a part of the final group when they are revealed?

Mike Knox and his beard.

So the WWE's Social Media Ambassador (What a stupid role) is a real life *****ebag.

I hope not, Joe has found a good spot back as a lone badass and he's been rejuvinated this last couple of months, saddling him with a crew of guys no one knows will only hold him back IMO.

Just from reading this last page, it sounds like they are booking Triple vs Brock similarly to how they booked Triple vs Orton for WrestleMania 25......

I don't see the point of Roode regaining the title and then beating Storm at BFG. Storm winning at BFG is the perfect ending to the story laid out ovwr the past year.

But should they take the belt off Aries? Or maybe do Aries vs Storm?

Or Aries vs Storm vs Roode?

I thought RAW was decent.

What are all the matches for Summer Slam? and do they have bands playing at it? Never gotten a ppv for wrestling before. Considering it.

Oh, and who has all seen the new Undertaker documentary? I just picked it up. Hoping it's good. :D

I love the importance TNA puts on the World Title. What a concept!

TNA's wrestlers feel relatable. I like that the top guys are all competitive with each other. That's how it should be if you are presenting your product as a sport. The only thing TNA is lacking is another strong top heel. They have a ton of guys they can plug into the top face role, but they are screwed if Roode or Bully get hurt or leave.

My thoughts exactly.

There's rumors that Aces & 8's are going to be revealed at BFG. I feel like they'll be revealed at No Surrender so they can clear Storm's name before BFG so they do not take away from his feel good moment.

I have a hard time seeing TNA not following up with their planned Storm/Roode match. I think it would be a huge slight to the both of them if they did. I love Aries, but Roode and Storm deserve to go on last at BFG.

But this is TNA so you never know. If Aries main events, I'd like to see AJ in the match and win. He is another guy who would deserve to reestablish his place on top. He is TNA's heart and soul

In the back of my mind I'm hoping Dean Ambrose gets released before he appears on WWE TV, and then we see Jon Moxley in TNA after 90 days.

Jesus I laughed my a** off at the end of Raw...and not in a good way.

Shawn Michaels: "No! Stop touching it!"

HHH *taking shirt off*: "Come on we can do it right now!"

I think we got another good wrestlecrap candidate tonight.

But should they take the belt off Aries? Or maybe do Aries vs Storm?

Or Aries vs Storm vs Roode?

I want Storm vs Roode at BFG for the title cause it's the perfect place/time&way to end their feud,But then I want AA to get a long title reign while also thinking Roode should win it back But Storm should have that title too!!

Agreed. That was just silly.

The whole car accident setup made it worse.

The thing is Aries is now a made guy. He's beaten Roode clean twice now and his place a top guy in TNA is cemented. They can always put the title on him later down the road.

Or Aries vs Storm vs Roode?

Any of those ideas would be fine, but Luis mentioned the possibility of Roode regaining the title and then beating Storm at BFG. That is a horrible idea and I hope TNA doesn't do that.

The idea was sound...but it all played out predictable and too over the top. Brock breaking peoples arms was rendered ridiculous when he "broke" HHH's and HHH walks around the next f***n day carrying flags and stuff then realizing he needed to wear the flimsiest brace ever...for his so called broken arm.

We've seen enough broken everything even in wrestling to see how lame it looks when Brock does it kayfabe.

When Haitch took his shirt off I wasn't sure if he wanted to fight Lesnar or f*** him (probably both). It looked like a hard X snuff film.

I think TNA's won the week already.

I know! What witchcraft is this?!?! :D

You know what I like about them? none of them are telling horrible jokes, and they all have their own voice and like you say, they are at odds with each other as per above, they ALL want the World title. That's a good point, TNA does need another top heel though I agree, I'm just not sure who they could turn that would work and I don't see Daniels or Kaz main eventing as singles stars. Magnus can become a top heel but he has a ways to go.

There's rumors that Aces & 8's are going to be revealed at BFG. I feel like they'll be revealed at No Surrender so they can clear Storm's name before BFG so they do not take away from his feel good moment.

Revealing them at BFG during the title match is so similar to how TNA unveiled "They" at BFG 2010. I agree they need to clear Storm prior so sole focus is on Storm vs Roode for the title, maybe have three Aces & 8's members vs Sting, AJ and Aries in a tag match at BFG where the main man behind it is revealed? My one concern is that BFG will become more about the shock value of Aces & 8's being tied into the main event than it is about Storm's moment.

I have a hard time seeing TNA not following up with their planned Storm/Roode match. I think it would be a huge slight to the both of them if they did. I love Aries, but Roode and Storm deserve to go on last at BFG.

I agree but I'm cautious as while I think that match happens I get the feeling the outcome will be tied into Aces & 8's, especially since the liklehood of Roode having a one month reign just to drop the belt again seems.........unlikely.

But this is TNA so you never know. If Aries main events, I'd like to see AJ in the match and win. He is another guy who would deserve to reestablish his place on top. He is TNA's heart and soul

I am a big fan of AJ but to me if they want to cement Aries as a top guy and have him main event BFG, then he has to win and should keep the belt into 2013 to give his reign some substance.

Well I said that cause it'd suck for Roode to beat AA just to lose a month later But yeah I also prefer Roode vs Storm&Storm walking out as new champion

Yeah.

This was a VERY poor RAW in comparison to what we've gotten the past few weeks on RAW and TNA.

Plus, it just all seemed like they didn't know what they were doing.

I mean. RAW had 10 minutes left when we got to that last segment, which made if feel even more staged.

It would've been one thing if they had saved the Punk/Cena/Show/Bryan match for the main event and THEN had that at the end, but having that as the end was just stupid and nonsensical.

It may seem silly, but I really hate it when the illusion is broken this way.
