Can you remind me to do that as it's something I really want to test but not the kind of thing I'd remember at the time. I paid a lot for my 8TB hard drive so I hope they make it easy for me to upgrade or whatever the best way to progress is.

yes. I'll tell Cortana to remind me to remind you. :o :oldrazz:

That should work. Cortana has a vested interested in seeing Xbox consumers happy lol.

^ yes. lol

speaking of which, I hope they add the ability to interface with Cortana on the X1 using a keyboard and/or controller. Right now, I think it's only through voice via Kinect or headset.

I 've hardly used this kind of stuff at all. Tried Alexa at a friend's house recently which was cool but haven't bothered with Cortana, Siri and whatever else is out there.

Would Cortana get jealous/suspicious if you keep asking her about Siri and Alexa? :o

I'm trying to make her jealous. (so she pays more attention to me)

don't you know, Cortana only has eyes for Master Chief. :o

oh, wow!!

I just typed this in to ask Cortana:

"Tell me about Siri."

And Cortana replied:

"She's a competing virtual assistant on a competitor's phone. Not that I'm competitive or anything."

I then asked her "How is Alexa"

And Cortana just took me to Bing Search for Amazon Echo.

oooohhh.......what a burn towards Alexa......Cortana doesn't even acknowledge her.

:hehe:

Haha awesome! These things have personality!

Me: "Tell me about Master Chief"

Cortana: "He's surprisingly likable for a biologically augmented super soldier."

:woot:

ok, Iceman. here ya go!

here's the 1st night of my X1S vs PS4 Pro comparison analysis.

To keep everything fair and consistent, I made sure to use the 2 "full/enhanced" HDMI ports on my tv, with the same picture settings for both ports. And I sat the same distance away from the screen, which I say was about a few feet ( so somewhat close to the screen ).

tonight, I compared 2 fighting games. Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite Demo and Injustice 2.

In both cases, the PS4 Pro did have a slight graphical advantage over the X1S. Overall, the PS4 Pro just seemed to have sharper, clearer, crisper images with less jaggies on the character models and background objects.

was it a huge dramatic difference? No.

Was it noticeable? Yes. somewhat. Especially when going from the PS4 Pro version to the X1S, your eyes do pickup on the change in "sharpness/crispness."

So, the PS4 Pro's extra power does give it a slight graphics advantage, at least when it comes to comparing these 2 games.

Of the 2 games, I'd say MvC had more noticeable differences. Perhaps that's due to it being a demo and thus an unfinished product? Maybe the final product will look better on the S?

Both versions of Injustice 2 supported HDR.

The Pro, however, did start sounding like a jet engine while playing Injustice 2, while my X1S maintained that steady, constant, low "ticking/whir" sound ( which I guess is normal? ).

Tomorrow, I will compare another set of games, probably Diablo III and Skyrim.

Oh thanks for that! Good to know. Any noticeable difference at all these days suggests there is likely a fair difference in what is going on under the hood.

yeah. the noticeable difference was a bit more than I expected.

but that does make me hopeful for the X. I'm especially curious to see how much better the X looks than the Pro.

if not for the larger 4K asset files and my current mediocre internet setup, I'd be all gung-ho for the X. :(

anyways, I'll report back tonight what I find comparing Skyrim and Diablo III.

I hope the difference is at least similar to the S and the Pro. In any way noticeable would be fine.

You can just upgrade when your setup gets better and when the system will be cheaper and more established with the kinks ironed out.

yep. that's the plan.

Still think I'm going to use the S as my main console going forward, which means I'll still get multiplats for the Xbox, despite the Pro looking better.

that way, I'll have all those titles ready when I do upgrade to the X

Yeah. And then they should look noticeably better than the S. All that extra power!

that's what I'm counting on. :word:

The X has more power than the Pro and all the multi-media functionality/features of the Xbox. it's really the best of both worlds!! :woot:

hopefully the extra power of the X ( meaning it will be the best place to play multi-plats ) will attract more Japanese developers to release games on the Xbox instead of remaining primarily PS4/Switch exclusive.

stuff like the upcoming Blazblue Cross Tag game. I'm hoping that comes to the Xbox.

or Japanese RPGs. hope more of those comes to the Xbox as well.

and hopefully MS itself will reveal new AAA titles, especially ones that can really take advantage of the X's power.

I don't know how those Japanese companies that don't publish on Xbox view the situation. Is it much to do with Sony and Nintendo being Japanese too? I'd like to see them come across too.

Microsoft better reveal something next year. Last E3 was very disappointing in that respect.

I'm sure Sony/Nintendo being Japanese companies plays a role in that bias. plus the fact that Xbox doesn't have much of a presence in Japan and doesn't sell well there.

and I agree about the lack of AAA exclusives shown at E3 this year.

it really felt like Scalebound left a huge hole in the lineup. Scalebound should have been the showcase launch title for the X. The full exclusive that could really show off the power of the X.
