Xbox The Xbox One - - Part 14

@X Knight have you still got your Xbox or have you returned it again? :D

The Gears 5 campaign is worth checking out from your gamepass if so.

I've been thinking about gamepass and the next xbox. I wonder how many of the launch titles will be exclusives.

There's always at least one big third party game and so you can get that and ultimate gamepass to try some of the launch titles and whatever is available for original-one games until the major stuff start releasing

Halo 6 and probably the next Forza will be available at launch I think.

I actually returned my Xbox......haha.

once I started school, it became apparent that I made a mistake in getting another console. I barely touched the Xbox (or the PS4), and when I did use the Xbox, I used it mostly as a DVD player.

And since most of the current and upcoming games that I'm interested in will either be multiplat or PS exclusive, I decided that it really didn't make sense to own the Xbox again. If I barely have time to play one console, might as well focus on just the console that has the games I really want to play. So, I'll save the money I used on the Xbox for the PS5 next year.

alas.....it wasn't meant to be........again.

Haha. How many Xbox returns are you up to now?!

I've lost track........haha. probably 6 or 7? plus one trade in.

some of those, though, were due to faulty hardware and tech.

I really haven't had that much luck with the Xbox this gen.....haha. It's like a girl you keep dating on-and-off but it never works out. Time to move on, I guess........haha.

but I seriously underestimated the time commitment for going back to college! I've been out of a classroom setting since the 3rd grade. I'm so used to self-studying at my own pace and schedule, that the whole concept of semesters, deadlines, etc. is foreign to me! Plus, as you get older, your mind isn't quite as sharp as it was when you're younger! :(

Must be some kind of record!

Oh well, it's only 3 years at least. :D

well, since I have to basically start from scratch, college for me will be at least 4 years. at my part time pace, it may take longer. :(

but, it's long overdue. so I'm just going to keep at it, doing 3 subjects at a time. doing something is better than doing nothing!

so, it looks like with their recent acquisition of Insomniac, Sony has acquired the rights to all of their past projects, including Sunset Overdrive!

Sony Owns All of Insomniac's Past IP, Including Sunset Overdrive Rights

I've always felt that Sunset was just one of the many missed opportunities by MS to create a new exclusive franchise series for the Xbox. I had always wished it would come to PS4, and now that might be a possibility. Maybe they can release Sunset on PS4 and work on a sequel.

If you think about it, Insomniac gives Sony/PS a goldmine of (now exclusive) IPs to work with:

Spider-Man
Sunset Overdrive
Resistance
Ratchet and Clank

Spidey will obviously be the big star. But if they can continue Sunset and revisit Ratchet and Resistance, that's 4 diverse series of games that will be exclusive to PS from just one studio.

Gears 5 is one of the best social games I've played. It's like it was back in the Gears 2 days with a big chunk of my friends list all playing and ready to play together. A load of them now know each other and play together independently of whether I'm on or not. :D:

I hate the Gears games. I can't get into them. I've tried soooomany times. I just hate how sluggish and clunky the controls are.

I can't do it.

But speaking of Games Pass, the new Bloodstained just released on it. I'm gonna get to that when I'm done with Zelda on Switch.

Was there anything to that talk about getting Xbox live on Switch?

$400 would definitely be an aggressive price for Scarlett. especially if it's backed up with the power and the games. and if PS5 is priced higher at $500.
That is the lowest possible price IMO. I was expecting $500. $600 would be too much to do well, unless there were 2 versions and that was just the premium version.

even $600 for a premium version is too much, imo.

$400 for base and $500 for premium/pro is just right.

For a premium I don't think so. The Elite controller is selling out all the time and that is a crazy price for just a controller lol. The base version is the one the majority will get. I'd rather they made the premium a beast. Also even $600 is not going to get you a leading pc and there are many people spending that or more on their gaming setups. $500 is very expensive for a base, a lot worse than $600 for a premium IMO. Of course I'd prefer if it was $500 though. Then both versions could see high sales (and I'd save $100 ;) ).

guess we'll find out next year!

of course, I remember the days when $200 for a console was a lot of money!! ;)

True lol. The one thing that doesn't seem to have gone up all that much is the price of games themselves. Especially when you consider the content compared to what we used to get.

technically, that may be true. And I remember some of those N64 games costing $70-$80!!!

but, in reality, it's also not true because of all the DLC, microtransactions, ultimate/special editions, etc. that are now sold with the games.

Before, $40-$60 would at least buy you a complete game, for better or worse. Now, the cost could be much higher if you buy all that extra crap, too.

Yeah, but all of those are optional. The base games are much better value I think. Something like a complex RPG, compared to some of the SNES games that could be finished in a couple of hours and probably cost $40 to make lol.

true.

though sometimes I still prefer those old NES and SNES games to today's games. Sometimes the modern games are too complicated for their own good, whereas the older games were simpler but more fun.

The retro scene is massive nowadays. I don't like unnecessary overcomplication, and a lot of modern games are much harder to pick up and play, but when they get it right they can give an amazing experience.
