We’re chalking this up as crazy good deal, no matter your gaming platform preference. Over at the Microsoft Store, they have a flood of Xbox One on sale for Black Friday at $50 off, starting at $299.99. These deals are already live as of Thanksgiving Thursday and will be available while supplies last.

While the $50 discount in itself is a pretty good deal, Microsoft Store is also offering a $60 Xbox gift code plus a choice of free game from a selection of four (value up to $30). This equates to a total value of $110 in bonuses (after considering street price, the value is more around $80) — making this the definitive Black Friday Xbox One promotion deal as far as we can see. Your choice of free game includes: Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive, and Rare Replay.

Here are the available bundles part of this Black Friday promotion as of writing:

Of note is also the Xbox One Elite bundle, which although billed as a pre-order (releases December 1st) is still a part of this promotion from Microsoft. The $60 Xbox gift code will be delivered to your email address (that you used to purchase) on December 14th. You’ll be able to add it to your Xbox Live account, good for purchasing anything on Xbox Live in the future.

All in all we think this is an impressive offer from Microsoft and it’ll be interesting to see how close they can get in sales versus the PlayStation 4 during the holiday season.

Also worth noting is the discounting of Xbox One titles at the Microsoft Store. In all there’s about 4 dozen games with a price break. After wading through them all we’ve posted the cream of the deals below.

Update: Also available at Microsoft Store are Xbox One games on sale:

Well, for 50%, I'll definitely pick up Ori. I don't have time for it now, but I'm not going to pass that up.

Too bad that Halo 5 was pulled from that list...

Same. Don't have the time to play it, but $10 is the sweet spot.

I got into the Doom Alpha, so I'll try that out later tonight. It's DLing right now.

Since the update came out in the middle of the month, I'm sure if there's new ones, that's when they'll announce them. And they said more to come in Dec, so I would imagine mid-Dec.

Ah, that makes sense. Hope its another large list and not just a few titles.

There's an annoying updated for the X1 that has a narrators voice that says everything you're doing. It took me a second to figure out how to turn it off, but to do it go:

Settings > Ease of Access > Narrator > Off

Who's bright idea was that?

Oh damn, I would have picked up Witcher 3 in that sale.

Been playing my Xbox quite a lot lately due to BO3. This is easily the most I have played the console since it came out, I've even bought a second controller.

If ESO goes on sale again after Xmas I might grab that too.

Okay I'm still new to the next gen, but I was finally able to get an Xbox One, and it took 12 hours before I was able to play a game. Update after update after update, damn is it always like that with this console?

No, but I'm sure your system had the old OS running, so it had to load all of the new stuff. After everything is set up, I rarely see any updates, as I have my system set up to DL anything, even when the system is off.

New X1s will have a lot of catching up to do with all the changes and updates since launch. As Travesty it should be fine after that, especially if you set it to download updates automatically while you are away. Game installs/downloads still take time though.

Remember the days when you bought a game cartridge and the thing was ready to play, lo and behold, right then and there? God I'm old.

And I guess it doesn't help that the internet in my area is slow, and I can't just leave it on all day.

Yeah, and now you have to install the game before you can play.

It's far more convenient now. I download a game a month in advance and the second the clock strikes 12:01 on its release day, I'm playing it. I don't even have to drive to one of those pesky stores to get said game.

I remember those days but agree with Pat

Yeah, also remember that once you bought the game, that was the game you would play forever, no expansions, DLC, etc... If there was a bug that prevented you from playing, it was over... I appreciate a lot of stuff from the era when games were ready to play out of the box, but there are a lot of advantages now too.
