And if the game changes after the first 4 hours of the game, by all means, but that's basically how it played out with my time. Way too much cut scene, and not enough actual game play.

The Witcher has always been slow burn with a hard focus on storytelling. I have yet to play 3, but I have played the other two and I am assuming Wild Hunt is the same way and in that regard the game could indeed be
"Too sophisticated." It's not a big dumb open world romp the way Skyrim is.

I wasn't confused by the story, and it certainly wasn't complex. In fact, it seemed to be pretty straight forward. I'm just not in the mood to watch more cut scenes than have actual gameplay.

But maybe I should have had my nice white gloves on with a monocle, while listening to Bach. I had no idea how sophisticated this game was. My little button smashing brain just can't comprehend the underlying complexities of such a masterpiece.

Thats not even remotely accurate. I just think you have a problem listening to story and dialog, you just want to run around and smash buttons on your controller. The Witcher may be too sophisticated for you. The Witcher 3 doesnt really do anything different, cinematic wise, than the previous two games, although if you haven't played those then you really have no business playing the 3rd game.

really? Thats kind of hard for many considering PC is the only platform where all games have appeared on. People and CDP have said that this game doesnt require the first two games bc they've developed it in a way to account for the fact that this would be many's first experience with the series

Assassins of Kings was too despite it being a direct sequel to the first game. I won't say playing the first two are required, but at least do your homework to see what you're getting into. How those games are marketed and what they actually are is quite different.

well, I went into self imposed exile for about 2 months. I think I served my sentence.

but I occasionally peruse the thread to see what you guys are talking about. and I think I can chime in every once in awhile on something that interests me.

I know. and that's why I left for about 2 months. to walk away and cool off so to speak. and I kept to that and didn't post in this thread since November until a comment a week ago and now tonight.

I'm not going to be posting here on a regular basis, but I'll chime in from time to time if something catches my interest.

and let's leave it at that because I have no interest in getting this thread off track.

I mean, you just sort of set yourself up to be ribbed a bit, but it's not that big of a deal. No need to be serious about it or anything. It's really not an issue for you to post anymore.

Anyway, new 1TB Xbone bundle is coming with The Division, which I keep forgetting exists.

I'll do another playthrough when DLC and mods start coming out. I enjoyed the hell out of it, though. It really sucked me in, and I'm looking forward to the DLC.

Which faction did you join? Right now my character is with the BOS. He's a VATS/Critical build that sports T-60 Power Armor - Honor, Vengeance, Exemplar's T-60c & Visionary's T-60c helm (Sentinel paint) - and mains the "Righteous Authority".

I started the Witcher 3, and it's just not doing it for me. I gave it a good 4 hours, and I was actually getting mad at the game more than anything. It felt like it was 80% cut scenes, and I was getting mad at having to sit there and watch another 5 min cut scene every 30 sec. Right when you start playing it, boom, cut scene. And then you go travel on your horse, and boom, cut scene. Now you get to start killing 1-3 people with your sword, and boom, another cut scene.

I just can't take it.

Yea I played it for about an hour. Not feeling it either.
