I had my membership card torn up when I dared to dismiss TDKR as his worst film.
Good.A Nolanite must be blind and unreasonable in devotion.

There's a defensiveness towards Snyder from his fans that is more or less unrivaled. Even Nolan's fans don't get that emotional.
Oh yeah! Nolanitism is the greatest self inflicted injury in the modern world. It is unparalleled for sure.
Not any worse than Whedonites.![]()
How can people hate on Watchmen? The guy did the film almost panel for panel.

Please...Snyderism is on course to replace it in the geek community.
What I'm realizing is that the "Nolanism" phenomenon has less to do with Nolan himself. It has more to do with how passionately attached Bat-fans get to a particular director.
There were/are Burtonites.
There were/are Nolanites.
And now there are Snyderites even though he hasn't even yet made the cinematic debut of his Batman. Blindly and unwaveringly devoted to Snyder's vision and Affleck in the role. Add to that people who loved Man of Steel and his other films, and you've got quite the cheerleading team/defense brigade. Just look around.
The whole "Oh noes the Nolanites!" thing has utterly jumped the shark. Just give it a rest. There are plenty of regular fans of his who should not have to explain themselves.
I didn't hate it, but I was disappointed with it as a film. How can people hate on Watchmen? The guy did the film almost panel for panel.
Oh... The classic fanboy overstatements. I love MOS. I Dislike WATCHMEN and SUCKERPUNCH, think DAWN OF THE DEAD is good, not great, and think 300 is a great fantasy action film. Does that make me a Snyderite? Please. The man has far more detractors in the fan community than Nolan ever had. Snyderism is not a "thing" the way the blind, zealous boosterism of Nolan was for a moment there. I say this as someone that's liked or loved every Nolan film sans TDKR.
I agree. I think in general some of Snyder's fans think he is above any criticism so they tend to lash out at others who dare questions his films. It's a little sad.
That's a ridiculous exaggeration and an unfair characterization to boot.
Did I step into an alternate reality?
Snyder is one of the most polarized directors I can think of off the top of my head.
Yeah, I agree.Snyder is one of the most polarized directors I can think of off the top of my head. He is nowhere near having the almost cult-like fanbase Nolan had at one point.

I think some nolanites are annoyingly snobbish, and some Snyder fans are annoyingly overdefensive.
