Took me 6 views to realize that when Dent is receiving the round of applause (after turning himself in as Batman) you can clearly see Wuertz and Stephens in the background. Stephens is clapping, Wuertz just has his hands in his pockets.

not sure if these were mentioned or not but Joker clearly has information that he drops subtly. Notice Gambol only gets violent when Joker mentions him giving money to his grandmother. Clearly he knew something. Also the interrogation scene he calls rachel blushing bride to be yet she hadnt even said yes yet so Dent must have said to someone he asked or was planning to ask.. I think there were a couple others i just cant remember.

Haha. When Charles Roven (the producer) did a Q&A session before a screening of "The Dark Knight" here, he said that that story would've been the "real" reason the Joker got his scars, if only Batman had let him finish...

The scar story he tells Rachel is a prime example of that - nobody except for Rachel, Bruce, and Alfred know that Rachel left Bruce after she partially inspired him to become Batman, just as Joker's wife left him after she inspired him to cut his mouth with a razor.

Of course Joker has no idea that Rachel knows who Batman is, or that Bruce is Batman. But her guilt is what he's able to read from her.

My friend pointed this out the other day: In the scene when Two-Face confronts Maroni in Maroni's car, before Maroni gets into the car, you can see somebody grab Maroni's bodyguard on the other side; the left side of the screen.

I thought that was cool, because I always wondered why Maroni's bodyguard's would allow Two-Face into the car.

I'm not sure he could've "read" about Dent's proposal ahead of time. He never met Harvey after all. I agree with DW that he's got spies in Dent's office feeding him info.

Who in his office could he have told about his planned proposal? We didn't see anyone else he worked with besides his secretary and Rachel. He didn't even have a ring to show off!

Besides, Rachel didn't even accept until seconds before she died, and that was after Joker referred to her as the "blushing bride-to-be." Nah, Joker's a mind-reader.

Also, the only moles that we know exist are all in the police department, despite what Gordon accuses of Dent. That's probably why Joker had to go to Wayne's penthouse to off Dent himself.

To me, Batman's best line was when he told Joker he knew how he got his scars---"But I know how you got these..."

And why assume Joker would have told the truth. He lies like a rug. He would have fed Batman another BS story about them.

And remember when Joker crashed the party, he addressed Rachel as "You must be Harvey's squeeze." So the line about "blushing bride to be" wasn't that out of place.

Hadn't noticed that myself. I wonder if Wuertz really even cared at all about the consequences of betraying Dent at that time (unaware of course that the disfigured Two-Face version of Dent would come back & kill him in cold blood).

I think "blushing bride-to-be" wasn't meant in an immediate fashion - he just meant that they were close and quite clearly in love with one another. He didn't know they actually had just talked about their plans to get married.

Remember, Dent was a celebrity among Gothamites, known for being an honest, good guy, a refreshing change of pace in politics. And his relationship with Rachel was certainly not a secret - they went on public dates with one another (to the dinner, to the ballet, etc.).

It's like Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle. The media certainly plays up Michelle (remember that story of them going on a date in New York a few weeks back?), and the story of Obama's political rise and portrayal mirror Dents' in many ways - so it's only natural to assume that Dent's relationship with Rachel is quite public and known to many.

People want to know who that young, cute, thing is who's so important to Obama - just as they probably did of Dent.

I think it was more that the Joker could sense Batman had a thing for Rachel. "I thought you really were Dent, the way you threw yourself after her." Batman flips a **** when he says that. Continues to do so when he calls her "Harvey's little bunny." The "blushing bride to-be" was just another jab at Batman.

I think you are reaching there. It was just a generic diss to Gambol. Joker obviously didn't like him from the get go, calling him a freak and all that. I think Joker decided then and there that Gambol was the first one to go.

Oh and through the eye holes in the jokers mask at the bank robbery you can see he's not wearing makeup before the scene with the bank manger.

You know how law enforcement uses those rugs with nails to stop speeding criminals in cars? Why didn't they use those to stop the Joker during the trip to county? Or why didn't batman just shoot the tires on the truck?

Well, I know at least the cool effect of the truck flipping over wouldn't have happened.
