they could just as easily just made this it's own universe and disregard the other movies. this could have been a fresh start. only difference is this time the GA would know some of the characters now.

You'd imagine they would've started a whole new universe, especially considering how many liberties and changes they're making.

It probably could've been easier to start over with a whole new timeline/universe, but it may not be as interesting..

They recreated the opening scene of X-Men,keep Mysique's blue form very consent with
look from previous film yet Beast's blue form Is very different from Last Stand.There Is no
way to match the first Class and Last Stand versions of Moira.But most Importly Xavier
Is crippled In First Class and his falling out with Magneto occurs In 1962.This totally
makes Last Stand Impossible with First Class.

First Class.I don't care rather they say it or not.I view First Class as prequel to X-men and X2 with a few libities.The crippling of Xavier and falling out between him and magneto Is too major to ignore like a 1 second cameo of human looking beast.If Beast
resembled the beast of Last Stand In Blue form then you could say The Last Stand
still bears some relvence.But this Is cat looking beast while In Last Stand it was the classic beast.

Bryan Singer has done this before with Superman Returns Ignoring Superman III and IV.
All X projects are Ignoring Wolverine.

Even If you Ignore the Moira Mactaggert cameo In Last Stand and the opening scene.The problem IS the phoenix plot Is so Influenced by opening scene that It Is Impossible.

And Ignoring the Last Stand gives you opotion If trilogy comes from First Class.When they get to timeframe of Cyclops and Jean they could reintroduce Angel.

what singer did with SR is different,that was sequel to a movie that had sequels already, which seemed strange. so it's like he made an alternate timeline there. here its a prequel so it might have been better to just start a new universe. you know if this is a hit they will try to make a sequel to it. especially since the cast is young enough to churn out a couple.they should just call it a new universe and go from there, they will regret it later if they don't, from a continuity stand point.

Again they could have changed their minds about crippling Xavier in First Class, and we don't know how deep the rift between Xavier and Magneto will be by the end of the movie. Their relationship may just be strained, but are still colleagues.

The opening scene of X3 helps the plot, but doesn't make it impossible.

I think Erik is going to go full Magneto at the end of the film, judging from all the trailers we've seen. Of course we won't be able to know what the continuity is going to be for sure until after the movie comes out.
