Thor 2 Dark World news, speculation and pictures possible Spoilers - - - - - - - - - - - - - Part 22

Man it is so frustrating going in every thread and seeing people bashing this movie, I feel like the only one who liked it.
Well I loved it even with that slight issue I have with reading Dark elf when it wasn't really needed.
I even bought the Bluray/3d, DVD AND the Steel book because I loved it so much lol Was almost temped to get Target's dvd with the loki slip cover, I MIGHT if it's out after I get Desolation of Smaug

Picked up the Winter soldier Poster Thursday. Now I have my two Fave Heroes best movies. :more:

Your two favorite heroes are Cap and Thor? You have great taste!

I know it's just that IM3 and TDW get so much hate when I think they really are no different than the phase 1 movies(and I honestly believe they improved in many aspects). Is it because they are too successful?

I'm guessing they get a lot of hate because Man of Steel got a crippling amount of hate and supporters of that movie are just trying to spread the love:yay:

Another reason has to be because more people than not consider the first Thor and Iron Man films superior to Thor 2 and Iron Man 3 respectively (not to mention Avengers).

The general consensus is that both films are good but not great, so I think the 'hate' your observing is a little overstated. I majored in film studies and have poured countless hours into watching films and analyzing them, and using as close to objectionable material as you can get with works of art I would argue the first Thor is the best MCU film to date and worthy of a top ten slot on the all-time best CBM list. That's a film that gets a decent amount of 'hate' as well. Oh, well :woot:

@First Avenger, you are so not alone. I was blown away by Winter Soldier. It's a superb film. But personally I still like Dark World better and rate it just behind Avengers. I had so much fun watching Thor and Loki just like I had a blast watching Avengers.

I also enjoyed Iron Man 3. I don't get why people have to crap all over one film to enjoy another. What's the point really? People just have to be so negative about everything.

I'm just enjoying this whole ride. The MCU never fails to entertain. Cap's latest adventure just makes everything better.

I feel the same way. I finally got the chance to go see The Winter Soldier and it was great. I'd say that it's probably closer to the optimal Cap film at that stage than TDW was for a Thor film I still expect to watch TDW more times than TWS.

The MCU entertains me every time as well. Probably the movies I can get the most entertainment out of these days as all of them are highly rewatchable for me.

I likes Caps new film but I still liked TDW better simply because of the gravity of the threat..
Sure Shield or dare I say Hydra was a real threat to earth, but to Thor and the Asgardians they are canon fodder....
I am extremely happy Marvel is putting out great movies and Cap ranks right up there..
I am still waiting for news about Thor's role in the upcoming AOU..
Lets hope he is not limited to just more lightning attacks...

Well said guys! :more:

^^ Yall's are straight up cray

lol

Can't be just the success. IM1 doesn't get much hate and that was very successful for a 1st film.

Or maybe avengers set the bar far too high for many people.

Well I really liked IM3 and absolutely loved Cap2, so for me, my disappointment in T:TDW it's not a "clearing the high bar" kinda thing
It was more of a, "Thor is awesome and I wish the director had more love for the character"...kinda.. thing...

it just felt uninspired, especially next to IM3 and Cap2 which are pretty risky films

I think Taylor was a good choice from a visual standpoint but he probably did not care much for the source material, and maybe he had difficulty in adapting to work on a big budget movie like this,to me that could have been the biggest problem. I still think this is a very enjoyable movie BTW.

BTW I asked Yost on twitter if he's gonna make Thor more powerful and bad@ss than before and he said 'guaranteed' :D .

 With the surprise announcement of CAP 3 set for Early 2016 I wonder if Thor 3 will come during the fall of 2016 or will it be released in 2017...
One would think that Thor 3 would have the end credit scenes showing Thanos on the move...
Setting up his showdown with the Avengers...

I'm thinking Thor 3 will be May 2017. I am seeing Doctor Strange as the other 2016 film with Cap 3.

I guess so,leave them take their time.I have high hopes for Yost and Kyle to deliver a solid script.

Yost also said that cap 2 raised the bar so they will hopefully try to keep up to that standard.

Excellent. Since there is some chance/risk that they will take a little break with Thor solo movies after this (the same goes for Cap) I really hope they end the possible trilogy with a bang, although while still keeping the other aspects and not turning it into too much action. Even better if said bang makes it inevitable to keep making Thor movies though.

It will be in 2017. I'm quite certain they will go the route of having one established hero and one first time solo hero per year (I wanted to say "new hero" but it's still a possibility that Widow gets a movie).

I'll raise my cup of mead to that. :thor:

I think even a lot of people who liked the movies still tend to talk more about the things they didn't like in them. I personally didn't like IM3 at all but if you did that's fine however the way they used the mandarin is pathetic. They could have had an epic battle between iron man and one of his greatest arch enemies but instead they made him a drunk actor. How are you supposed to like that?

In Thor 2 I liked the movie over all. I thought it was pretty damn good actually but when I hear that we lost out on seeing Thor bring lightning from all 9 realms to defeat his enemy so that Darcy, a suckbag character that these films would be better without, could be more involved I still get pretty damn annoyed.

What? Where did this come out?

What? Where did this come out?
I think it was mentioned in the audio commentary that's on the blu-ray, that was their original concept for the final battle/defeating Malekith

I can't seem to find a clear red dome for the eye reader on that scanner.
