Well at least this confirms that Odin will not be on so willing to accept Jane as a potential partner for Thor, let alone on how it's been solidified that Sif's romantic feelings will be more apparent and an issue for Thor's relationship with Jane in this film.

I just hope that they handle it than how they supposedly did in the comics.

Great to read that they are going to really try to develop what Thor should be able to do when it comes to his powers and ability to fight. That has consistently been one of my biggest hopes for this movie.

It's also good that Jane doesn't just get accepted, but to be honest the relationship I'm really looking forward to see is that between Thor and Loki (again). I love how they are treating Loki's character, always giving him a new angle to work with. Now all that's left is to expand his powers, as my only little gripe about him was that he should have been able to do more in TA.

But, the potential, which I kept stressing, is way bigger in the Thor franchise and this sequel is the first step if Marvel really wants to push the envelope. Hiring Alan Taylor could be a masterstroke, in my opinion.

I'll know more tomorrow when that trailer hits. That's all I need to see in order to make a decision on how this film is going to turn out. I just have this feeling with the Dark World.

This film has had more prep time than any film in the MCU so far that's not the first Iron Man film. I think the film will reflect that. Pushing it from July to November, I think, is going to prove huge for the vision of this

Heck Fiege himself said that Thor:TDW is gonna be second only to The Avengers in scale. In that interview they talked about more realms, more of Asgard, more creatures andmore Asgardians themselves.

So it sounds like Marvel feels the same way we do about the potential of Thor's franchise.

Let's hope that it means that Thor: TDW was given at least a budget of 200 million or even more for its production. With a better budget, a director who knows how to shoot better action scenes, and with a better effects company, this will definitely look better than the first film.

@herolee - Calling Thor:TDW the biggest Marvel film besides TA basically means the budget is atleast 200 milion. I say that because IM3's budget is 200 million and being second to TA only means it's going to be bigger than IM3 as well.

Since a huge scope has been pretty much guaranteed, I'm hoping Thor's abilities are cranked up to fit the scale of the film.

The thing is, The Avengers isn't that big. Price tag is one thing. How you use it is another. It is why they keep on ending up on the same street in during the finale. :D

I am thinking considering this is a solo film like IM3, the budget can be used better.

This all sounds so terrific. if they nail this, great potential.

the only thing I do not like even when Hemsworth does it is that Thor is not a demigod. Hercules yes, Thor no. Otherwise I like all that I hear especially about expanding and showing more of Thors fighting ability and powerset.

The more pressing problem comes in the form of Dark Elf Malekith (Christopher Eccleston), who threatens both Earth and Asgard. To thwart him, Thor shows off an elevated fighting style in the new conflict sequences.

"I really wanted to ramp up his skill set in battle," says Hemsworth. "He's not just this Viking throwing the hammer. Here he's more demigod with dynamic moves we haven't seen before."

YES. This is exactly what I wanted to hear.

I don't think they actually mean demi-god in the literal sense, it's just a way to skate around the term "god" like calling Thor the "prince of thunder" on the cartoons.

That's your opinion and I respect that but imo TA was pretty darn big. They went from wherever Loki first appeared to New York then to Germany then to those mountain tops in Germany to the Helicarrier and back to New York.

They may have ended up on the same street, but the battle as a whole took place throughout that entire city.

Yeah, i hate our christian-controlled culture
Comic books are willing to go there, but big-Budget blockbusters, apparently not
He's a God, thordammit!

haha, just reading what Feige said about Loki being in jail and Thor needing his help. I hope Loki helps him from jail like Lecter helped Clarice.

That's not to say I want him to remain in jail for the duration of the movie or anything. But i think it could be a great moment to show certain character traits and highlight some parts of their relationship.

Maybe Odin should slowly reveal himself to be Hannibal Lector in disguise. :p
