Thor Ragnarok Spoilers - Part 1

Hey guys, first post here and just come out of seeing the movie. Loved it so much. Sad thing about Mjolnir's destruction is that at the start when Thor is fighting all the fire demons, it's probably some of the most creative uses of using the hammer so far in the movies. Whirling it round like a mini tornado at all who were coming at him, throwing it so the hammer circled around him whilst smashing the fire demons who were circled around him on it's way around, while Thor was also fighting them hand to hand at the same time until the hammer returned to him was awesome.

I loved Heimdall's little arc once Hela made it to Asgard where he took the Bifrost sword so she couldn't open the bridge, then went on the run whilst hiding out the Asgardian people, hoping to make it to the Bifrost so he could help them evacuate.

The Thor and Hulk fight was awesome. Thor not wanting to go all in on the fight until Hulk forced his hand was good stuff.

Banner having no idea what's happened over the last two years he's been in Hulk form was quite sad - asking if they beat Ultron, if they saved Sokovia, and asking what happened to Thor's hair?

Valkyrie was awesome. She was badass, can hold her own, had a tragic backstory of her own which led to her becoming a Scrapper.

Was surprised at Thor losing an eye. Don't know how they managed to keep that under wraps. I loved it though.

Were Loki's new knives something he picked up on Sakaar? They don't look like a part of his normal gold/green garb.

What cameos were in the film other than Dr. Strange?

Matt Damon as Loki in a play - hilarious

Black Widow on the monitor of the Quinjet (a recording)

Oh yes I was trying to recall some of the different ways Thor used his hammer in the early fight scenes and you've described them well

Glad you enjoyed it and welcome to the Hype!

What were some of the trailers people saw before the movie?

I assumed Thor’s eye was healed by the end since he had both in the IW trailer?

Either that or special effects edited it out. Would be kind of random to just retcon that so quickly, though.

Anyone who thinks they needed Thor shouldn't worry. He's ducking awesome in this film especially when he unlocked his potential.

Also another thing in the first post credit scene. Thanos is going to kill everyone on that ship except for maybe Thor, Loki, Valkyrie and Bruce. It seems like Those four will be the first to feel Thanos wrath in IW.

Feige also confirmed that Korg and Miek will return in the future.

Prolly a different take, one with Thor without his eyepatch. It would've spoiled Ragnarok's ending then.

Dude, she took his eye out. That don't heal. :oldrazz: They'll add Thor's eye patch in with CGI, Marvel wasn't going to spoil Thor losing an eye in the Infinity War CC trailer.

^^ i would've thought that eyeless Thor was just a minute tops. Surprised that it was actually for the whole of the final battle :D

Did Banner have interactions with Loki? Just curious if he there is tension since Loki did try to take over Earth and this movie seems to be his redemption.

It's just occured to me that Doctor Strange's line "Destiny has dire plans for you, my friend" totally wasn't in the film. And some of the dialogue in the Hela scenes was slightly different to the dialogue in the trailers too. I guess that's normal for these kind of films though.

Also, that random little scene of Hela knocking the other Gauntlet off it's pedestal in Odin's vault and screaming 'fake' at it really stands out to me. I wonder what the point of that bit was, it didn't really add anything to the film (it was entertaining though), the conpiracy theorist in me desperately wants to believe that it's Marvel's very subtle little hint that Hela knows it's a fake because she's seen the real thing with a certain big angry purple dude. I'm clinging to anything here. :funny: Oh please please let her be in IW, please.

I think it was probably to address the confusion about how Thanos got the gauntlet if It was in Asgard.

Shush, let me have my thing please? :oldrazz: I need to believe that Hela is going to be in another movie or I may sink into a deep depression. :o Anyway, there was only confusion amongst the extremely eagle eyed viewers who actually noticed, I can't see them thinking that it needed directly addressing in a movie. See, I can convince myself of anything if I want to. :woot:

^^ correct me if im wrong, but didnt the fake gauntlet already have gems attached? I swear i saw some colors on it in the brief time it was onscreen.

I'd like to think it was sort of a retcon, and Marvel acknowledging the fact that they presented 2 versions of the gauntlet.

Yeah it had all the gems on it.

And yeah this was a retcon. This was basically Marvel's way of just explaining away what was originally just an easter egg.

Heimdall too maybe? Are the Asgardians not going to have a future then? :csad:

Guys, cram it. You're all poking holes in my nice little theory. :argh: Well, it still begs the question of how Hela knows it's a fake. :cwink: And shut up, I don't want to hear any logic from any of you, let me have my thing. :oldrazz:

No you were right. Your audio must have muted straight after she said it was fake. On my showing you could clearly hear her say as she looked right at it, "I've seen the real thing with a certain big angry purple dude".

I hope not. That would be disappointing.

I'll shut up now :cwink:

Keep on with ya bad self Fin!

I do think it was just to establish a retcon, and make clear that the IG that was seen is just nothing, though. I'd love to see Hela in another movie. Not IW though. Thanos doesn't love a woman. He loves "death". There is a whole philosophical existential element to that relationship and how it reflects Thanos' character that gets left aside if death substituted with a tangible, singular character in IW. Nothing against Hela, just all the love for my boy Thanos
