Thor: Ragnarok The Official News and Speculation Thread - Part 1

The hammer was destroyed a few times before. If the hammer is destroyed would anyone have a problem with Thor getting the Axe hammer upgrade?

Only if it's Stormbreaker, none of that 'Ultimate' nonsense

I was never a fan of the box hammer he currently has. I was always a fan of the axe hammer because that's what I have always seen Thor have, so I am used to the axe hammer. So it would be a welcome change if they, however unlikely, gave him a new hammer.

Am I remembering it wrong but, when the hammer was broken by Thor killing Bor in the comics didn't Doctor Strange repair it? Cuz... That is a perfect set up for a post credit scene.

That's not the kind of thing you relegate to a post-credit scene. Repairing/replacing Mjolnir would happen in the film itself.

What's everyone's thoughts on Thanos attacking Asgard at the end of the film? I'm thinking it would be a hell of an ending to see Thanos smash both Thor and Hulk.

I don't want it to happen. It'll be a distraction for a Thor movie. Someone in the chaos taking the Infinity Stones and giving them to Thanos would be OK, but don't have Thanos show up.

I didn't mention any thing about repairing it in the scene, but was inferring a Dr. Strange cameo. But... Let's remember that the capture of Bucky occurred in/was revealed in a post cred scene so supposedly "big" important things have already been used to tease out future films. Doc in a post cred with Thor could easily be used to set up something for IW.

Save Thanos doing his thing until Infinity War. We need to just get tastes of what he's planning, not seeing him get his hands dirty yet. We could see an aftermath of what he's done to another planet or something.

Actually showing him actually doing something physical before the Infinity War films is a great way to show what he is like.

He is the big bad, sure, but needs more context. It will show what kind of a threat he is. People will be hyped for Infinity War.

But now that I think about it more, I guess they don't have to, because we have 2 Infinity War films.

He's gonna show up. When else will he? It's been confirmed he'll be in atleast one before Infinity Wars right? James Gunn denied Thanos being in GotG2, what other movie can we see him in? Doctor Strange? He's probably going to be in Ragnarok.

Hmm... Does it have to be Thanos himself acting? What if, the Black Order makes a visit to Asgard while Thor is off on his road trip with Banner?

Idk I just feel like the GA needs to see just how powerful Thanos is before IW1&2. Taking down Thor and/or Hulk would be a great way to establish that. But I wouldn't be opposed to seeing the Black Order with him.

Wish fans would stop putting up their own trailers saying they're real

I feel like you kinda have to have Thanos in action doing something other than sitting and talking in atleast one film before IW. Just like they have Spider-Man in a film before his film and BP in a film before his own as well both in action.

I really hope that Ragnorak is book-ended by Thanos. In the beginning, he releases Surtur, and at the end he smashes the throne room, takes the other gauntlet and the space gem, kills Odin, and smashes Thor and Hulk.

Maybe he also wants the second gauntlet so that he doesn't look like a jackass wearing only one "glove". :hehe:

Interesting ...
Maybe he is connected for the search of Bruce Banner? And ends up on Asgard, haha.

Nah. Too weird.
Maybe for the "too less Earth" scenes in the movie? But it would be weird for them to be specifically with Nick Fury, to be honest. Out of all the people/characters that are on Earth.

P.S: Fingers crossed by the way. I missed me some SLJ.

Probably leading a team looking for Hulk/Banner. He might run into someone from Asgard. Lots of possibilities really.

Imagine Fury is tracking Banner for Tasha, he finds him and then suddenly Bruce gets whisked away by the Bifrost.

Hmm... Could be Thor and Hulk go find Fury to warn him about Thanos shennanigans at the end of the film? Thor left at the end of AOU to ostensibly find "answers" about his vision.
