Yeah I heard he was great in Rush, and the whole movie was apparently quite good
sadly, a movie about 70's era F1 racing, not the biggest money maker
probably did gangbusters in Monaco
IIRC it was one of the highest grossing movies in Austria in that year. Brühl and Hemsworth were outstanding

So only directors and producers can have flops? If you're the lead and the face of the project, it's your flop too, imo.
Yeah, I can see it THAT way, but I still think if it comes out badly it IS the director and Producer's problem....then there's fox :D they just can't get FF right and won't admit they're WRONG

Yeah the studio's move there is puzzling. I wish they had kept the March release date. But the critics seem surprisingly ignorant on this one. They keep comparing the movie to Moby Dick. It wasn't an adaptation of Moby Dick. It's wasn't trying to be Moby Dick. It wasn't trying to delve into the same themes of spirituality as Melville's masterpiece. The movie was telling the true story upon which Moby Dick was based. These guys are criticizing the film for something it isn't. Not the first time they've done this which is why critic scores are becoming increasingly irrelevant to me.
That's what gets me about historic films.
13th Warrior/Flesh eaters was a Historically correct version of Beowulf and many people ignore that film too. I just haven't been able to get out to see the film

Chris gave an interview (about his new movie) in a german newspaper.

Asked about "Thor 3":

"We will begin shooting in June 2016 in Australia, right after that we will shoot "Avenger Part 1 and 2" - without a break inbetween (for me)."

Unfortunatelly he said also:

"After 3 movies shooting in a row, i maybe can not wait to take off the Thor costume. I am sure, that i will not take any hammer thereafter soon. But i am kind of nervous, what comes after THIS - endling these three movies means, that my contract if off... but till 2019 all is fixed."

-> nothing real new. It was clear, that Chris will film ONE whole year (from June 2016 till June 2017) for the three movies. And that he will not be in any other movie till 2020 (or longer). And that his contract is running out after 7 movies.
But it seems, that he is very unsure, if he will ever be Thor again... Hmm...

If it is for me, he could play Thor another 20 years :)

That's not good, but is understandable. It would be very interesting though to see the heroes age. I'm particularly interested in seeing an older Cap.

Interesting, But the last few years he has been doing pretty much the same thing when it came to filiming the Marvel movies

I love Hemsworth as Thor so much but I understand if he needs to call it a day after 3 straight films back-to-back like that. As an actor you want to maintain passion for what you do and grow in your craft. Thor is a tough character to portray and on top of this, his character development has been getting the short shrift since his first two appearances (in Thor and Avengers). Hopefully Marvel will make the proper course corrections in the films to come for Thor and give Hemsworth a reason to want to keep playing the same character. Maybe he just needs a break and can come back at a later date once he's had an opportunity to pursue other types of roles.

Yeah but Cap and IM and others should age
Thor shouldn't, not at the rate the others do at least, so it would actually be weird to see Hemsworth age in the role

Eh, too bad :(
He doesn't seem that invested in the Thor role after IW. ..
or maybe he will take a 2-3 years break and come back?

I'm not that surprised. First we have the issue of that it's a lot of work for him to stay that big for the role, and having to do it for such a long time of basically shooting 3 movies back to back will not be all that enjoyable for him.

And after that we of course have the issue of remaining in as good of a position as possible for the eventual talks of a new contract.

He might very well just walk away from the role, but I think his comments work even in a scenario where he does more Thor movies.

Ya know what I find funny though when actors talk about staying in the same role for years..?
That's what most, normal people do. We work at one job for many years. Maybe 3 to 4 different jobs over a lifetime.Yes, we often f***ing hate it, but we still do it, cuz we have to.
So when I hear a multi-millionaire grousing about doing the job that gets them laid/fans/money/notoriety for 3 whole. torturous. years?? I can't help but hate them a little bit

Acting is a creative medium. The worst thing is for them to be stuck in a rut and not exhibiting the same results. The guy at the DMV does the same thing over and over, but nobody expects him to be creative while doing it.

So Ruffhulk says in this flick he'll be more Banner-ish. Hulk, I mean.

Ruffalo also said we'd get more of an internal struggle between them in AoU. We see how that turned out.

But while I do think AoU was great, it did fail to meet quite a few expectations as well as promises (such as the broken team concept, which CW will probably deliver on in a more meaningful way).

Hopefully Phase 3 delivers, especially with Ragnarok. Let this be the ultimate, most satisfying Thor movie of the trilogy, which also gives us a satisfying dynamic between Bruce and Hulk. Pretty please Marvel.

yeah I didn't get any of the "Hulk is afraid of Banner" stuff that Ruffalo was talking about leading up to AoU

Feige talked about the movie some more in Empire magazine.

Kevin Feige then touched on Thor: Ragnarok and implied that, despite its subtitle, fans shouldn’t just assume the threequel will be about the Norse apocalyptic end of the world. “I don't think people will read into that title alone [regarding] what the movie's going to be,” he said. “It's going to be, perhaps, as totally different from the two prior Thor movies as Winter Soldier was from the first Captain America. We want to take it to new places, we've got new characters that will show how big we're swinging on this. And we have a Hulk.” Speaking of new places, the Marvel Studios head honcho then confirmed something that Thor fans have long desired: “The film takes place within the cosmos primarily which is to say, frankly, very little Earth.”

Every time someone involved assures us there will be very little Earth, my heart skips a beat in the best way possible.

'Very little earth'

I mean as long as they don't drag Selvig, Darcy and Darcy's intern with them around the cosmos

That could very well happen. Kat Dennngs is much more prominent now.

if they do that without draging darcy in it this film gets my attention.if they
do drag darcy into space than back to ignoring it.

I don't think anyone ever went to go see a superhero film because of the sitcom starlet playing a second tier supporting role.

If they find some dumb way to bring Darcy to Asgard or the nine realms
not only will I not see this, I'll actively boycott it

I would've hoped Feige's recent comments would foster a bit more optimism but the usual negativity prevails. I guess you guys missed the part where Feige said "It's going to be, perhaps, as totally different from the two prior Thor movies as Winter Soldier was from the first Captain America. We want to take it to new places, we've got new characters that will show how big we're swinging on this."

It's not who we wanna see but who is big.in the industry.
