RT score down to 56%. It just keeps getting lower.

I hope it doesn't drop below 50.

The action BLOW me away!!! It is one of the best action fights I've seen in a long time.

But what's up with Lois knew Clark is Superman basically the whole movie and 3D sucked.

Just see it in 2D, 3D is a waste of money in this movie without much 3D effects at all!

Honestly, this is getting kind of ****ing irritating. I mean on one hand, yeah screw the critics and their reviews, but on the other hand, you can't be certain the most of the audiences will enjoy the film still and that it'll be an financial success at least.

And while it is true that one's own opinion matters the most, this film needs A LOT of people to like it enough to pay the ticket prices so that it'll make enough money for Warner Bros. to give the official go sign for them to make an sequel.

And what's even more frustrating is this whole back and forth game where we're getting negative reviews as much as we're getting positive reviews from FANS and Critics.

and considering that A LOT of us were very hopeful that this film would be great due to all of the early buzz about it along with the clips that we saw, only to hear an handful of people say that the film was average, bad, great, good, disappointing, awesome...I don't know, it's just irritating to be sure.

I thought most fans love it or like it as well as most of the blogs and it is mostly the so called pro critics that have a bug up their butt..

Unless you have a personal or financial stake in the film, I see no reason to get irritated about anything.

I really am baffled as to what the critics are finding wrong about this movie? Great acting, solid story, jaw-dropping spectacle. What exactly is rubbing these guys the wrong way with this film?

It's irritating for those that waited three years for this film to come out and thought that it'd be better than what it's shaping out to be at the moment. If you go by the issues that EVERYONE here are bringing up, MOS seems to be nothing more than a comic book film where it has awesome but overstayed fight sequences with an incoherent plot.

The bottomline of this movie:

GREAT/BEST Action!!!

But LACK of suspense! (Specifically, that scene Superman threw up blood)

Lack of romantic music

3D SUCKS, UNNECESSARY

I have a personal stake.

If it doesn't do well I won't get a sequel.

I am not worried about it not do well with average viewers. It WILL, I am pretty sure.

After all, I think if you say the movie has like BEST action of the year, that will get most of people who like action movies in.

Those fans who don't like action movies, probably not interested in Superman/Superhero movies much in the first place, to matter.

I'm going to see it in a bit. As a major Marvel fan I've been fairly happy with what Marvel Studios has given us. But I started out as DC boy and still am at heart. I've cheered on the Dark Knight series and have awaited tonight with baited breath. That said, I am absolutely shocked off my ass at the reviews I'm reading on RT. I really want this to work--not just the sake of future Man Of Steel sequels but finally the long-delayed Justice League film. Not to mention Wonder Woman and other major names in this universe. If the film doesn't rake in both critically and financially the delay will be that much longer because WB's faith is shaky in these franchises as it is.

I don't get what critics are finding wrong with the film, but I'm going into that theater with an open mind.

Well, what exactly were people expecting? I mean sure we had those somber moments in the trailers and like one or two TV spots, but it seemed WB was giving/advertising exactly what some people claimed they wanted after SR.

You think this film is bomb or something?

LACK of Suspense. Would be more effective if somehow Zod almost kills Superman or Lois, before Superman steps up and beat Zod.

You think this film is bomb or something?

Something of an more character driven story and better usage of the incredible ensemble cast that they had.

Honestly, I don't think anyone can really tell at this point on whether this film will be successful, moderate, or an failure at this point.

Plus, what bugs me the most is how I keep hearing about:

the way that Pa Kent dies, the issues people had with Superman and Lois, and how Superman doesn't come as an caring person that's aware that people are literally dying around him as he continues to fight Zod

I respectfully disagree that there is ANY lack of suspense in this movie.

I am more worried that even if it makes money Warner Brothers will take all the reviews to heart and either abandon ship or alter the series drastically.

I didn't have too high of an expectation based on who was behind the film.

I guess that's what "modern" "real" and "relatable" means to these guys.

I keep hearing people say Superman Returns is a bad movie, but it isn't. 75% critics liked it! Better than this movie's rating.

YES it sure lacked Action, but if this movie had more Superman Returns plus all the good action, maybe it will be the perfect Superman movie?

Some people/critics DO NOT CARE about action/special effects, you have to understand! Action actually bore them, but to us it blows us away! They watch Superhero movies expect them to be more of Dramas/Comedies, I think.

just got back from the Wal-mart showing of Man of Steel. Wounderfull movie! I'm going to the I-MAX showing tomorrow. 9/10 for me.

When did reviews ever make a studio not make a sequel to a financially successful film? Especially a big film such as this one?

And wouldn't it be good to alter the series for the better? I thought it'd be drastic if they chose to make changes, whatever they may be.

WB kind of put all their eggs into one basket with this. If they want an eventual JL they'll have to keep moving with this universe. I'd say we are pretty much guaranteed a MOS sequel. Having seen MOS I'm all on board for part 2.
