Yup. My expectations has been scaled back also :csad: many things makes it seem like this one will maybe pull another superman returns on our asses. With that I mean in the sense that they will be rushing through parts and leaving a lot -WHICH HAS BEEN SEEN THROUGH PICS- on the cutting room floor! I can't stand that.

I don't think SR bad is possible at all. It's just my expectations have been brought down from a defining film the world needs right now (which was ridiculous expectations in the first place) to a good film. Which is probably for the better. I would have only set myself up to be disappointed before, whilst now I'm ready to be blown away, or at least what I expect.

The MOS trailers are better than the entire SR film, so that's a bygone worry.

I have seen nothing to scale mine done whatsoever if anything the new TV spots and Nokia trailer have just raised the bar for me. Almost everyone is saying it is the best Superman movie yet and one of the best best comic movies ever made.

Excitement level- through the roof..

Most the reviews have been positive and the not positive reviews tend to be mediocre rather than bad.
It's very weird how some people are freaking out.....

I want it to be as good as possible and successful as possible to show the negative crowd what for. :argh:

It's much the same thing with Amazing Spider-Man, times ten... so many were hating on it, so it came across as the underdog and I like underdogs. Unfortunately the story was lacking, a lot of it due to cut scenes. Amazing 2 will probably be better now they're past the learning curve.

With this film you have the first superhero and it's rebooting the first big superhero movie, which some revere too much along with part 2, or rather another version of part 2 only recently released. The bias and closed-mindedness is much stronger, having decades to form.

Negative reactions I've read have an air of truth to them and I can see where they are coming from. Reviews are on a bell curve so you'll find some people that will just flat out hate it.

As much as I wanted a perfect movie, it isn't. How many perfect movies are there anyway? :woot:

Most of my favourite movies are imperfect and full of plot holes. It does not make me like them any less. :yay:

Haha what. This comment made me laugh. You were looking forward to The Amazing Spider-Man before you saw it cause so many were hating on it, then you saw it and just agreed with everyone hating it. :woot:

I know like 90% of the twitter reactions have ranged from "good" to "greatest comic book movie ever" :yay:. Now it could be that negative reviewers are apprehensive about posting their opinions because of the embargo, but I believe the embargo lets them say whether it was good or bad just does not allow for details. So who knows? I guess we will find out tomorrow when the embargo is lifted. Also, I think only the professional critics had to sign an embargo because I have read that regular people who saw it this week signed nothing.

it seems to me that the vast majority like it, with a few not liking it.
so whats there to be upset about??

I guess it's because i've build MOS up in my mind to have the same exstremely overly positive early reviews that Dark Knight got. It was CRAZY!!! But this here. it's not even close to that.

And the "not positive reviews tend to be mediocre rather than bad"... And we're suppose to be HAPPY about that??? Amazing spiderman got mediocre reviews, man! So this is certainly not reassuring in any way. MOS don't even seem to be getting the same praise as Avengers did in it's advanced screening period:huh:

I know one thing. I will NOT be checking rotten tomorrow, ones the embargo is lifted. Something tells me that we're in for a disappointment. Procentage-wise that is. I'd rather stear clear of these coming reviews, and go in "blank", so I can completely make up my own mind, not feeling influenced to agree with statements of negativity from critics pointing things out - ahead of time. If I don't know about them, then maybe I won't ever think about them ones showing up.

SR. Now that had mixed reviews from the public. MoS does not. again. the majority so far seem to love it.

Most posters on here are too hysteric to take this fact to heart for more than five minutes.

I literally see people go from "calm" to "anxious" multiple times on the same page for god-knows-what reasons.

Any movie can make great trailers. Trailers can cheat the hell out of you! It's the easiest thing to do. We all know this...
And that's why i'm so worried. More than ever before. Cause everything seen from MOS does indeed look more than just promising! It looks absolutely incredible - and I don't use that word lightly! Which is why it's so setting it self up for possibly major disappointments:csad: More so than any other movie I've ever been excited to see before.

PLEASE be more than just good MOS!!! Supermans fate rests within this movie.

Hmm, perhaps the somewhat more tame reactions at this stage for MOS is because it's not really breaking any new ground in stuff that's been seen before. The scale of it is no doubt similar to The Avengers last year. And as we know we're sure it's going to eclipse even that, but perhaps not enough for people to go crazy about it again.

I think we're going to get a very solid film. Perhaps the most perfect superhero film in regards to action, story and tone.

Nah I didn't hate it, it was just disappointing. Some just didn't give it a chance. :woot: Speaking of other discussion places, by the way.

The gripes for MOS and Amazing were eerily similar:

- reboot
- rehash
- "disrespecting" the previous films
- costume changes
- replacing beloved actor
- too "dark"
- even "rights grab" (Sony/Marvel, DC/Siegel-Shuster estates)
- it's not done by X it can never be good
- only X is a valid interpretation

Sigh. Not even all the trailers and footage have stemmed this.

So you would rather have all the mediocre reviews actually be negative reviews saying "the worst movie in existence" "the worst movie this year"? Ok then....

Even TDK gets hate. This is probably going to get TDKR type reactions.

Naite I'm confidant this film will be everything you want it to be. Just chill, everything's going to be fine. Try and figure out what you're expectations really are. Don't expect the moon. Just expect a great film.

Yeah too true except Tobey McGuire being a 'beloved actor'. :cwink:

Anyone who at this point says the reaction by GA is nothing short of stellar, please dont watch the movie, you know who I am talking about

You worry too much... They have a long time to get MOS ready for us. I have no doubt this movie will be nothing less than amazing. It may not be like TDK because they are different story, but it can be better because its Superman. After this movie is release people will set the bar for how Comic book movie is made going forward. Even the great TDK had early bad review and negative comments. No movie will ever be 100% with no negative review.

I hope no one was expecting 100% positive reactions to this. tdk and avengers didnt even get that.
