The Dark Knight Rises Tom Hardy as Bane XI

Haha I love old-man Bane! Think it's wicked.

What I'm more worried about is that strange black ball and the scientist. I don't want another outlandish and weird device.

For those who are nervous/critical that he "sounds like an old man", I thought that too when they first did the scene & for the first take I thought that they were using a different voice to hide the real one from us, but Tom kept using his Bane voice when talking to the crowd afterwards & I loved it then. It's very unique and intriguing, although different from what I expected or from any voice I've heard from Tom before...which reminded me of how I felt about Heath's Joker voice. So don't judge too quickly! What we heard in the scene was brief and only part of the whole speech (since the cut the sound off for the end of it), & hearing Tom use the voice for a longer length of time was definetely reassuring.

Can we assume that his will be overdubbed or modified in post? That's my only hope for this

If that is indeed the voice of Bane it would seem to be an unusual choice at first.

In the context of the performance it could make perfect sense as a contrast to his brutish appearance.

Looks like Bane's mask is damaged here, maybe that's why he's on his knees.

I hope they don't use the old "unplug Bane's venom tubes to defeat him" trick, although that looks like a possibility.

Well, I have to say one positive thing: Sounds better than the original BTAS voice... but that's about it.

Yeah, sure, I'll give it a chance... at times I felt like Heath sounded like daffy duck when I first heard his voice, but I love it now... albeit his voice is incredibly flexible throughout TDK, but that one type doesn't bother me at all now :oldrazz: We'll see with Bane, but this is still very comical out of context...

Did he not actually audition for this part? Who else was rumored? Lol

Then how about Henry's toned down accent in TNBA? Surely you must have liked that.

I don't hate it like I do the original one. But it's sort of "eh." I wish for that show they had actually cast a South American actor instead of a New Yorker.

Can you really blame our skepticism? I mean, what the hell?? Catwoman doesn't look like Catwoman (which I don't mind) and Bane doesn't look nor sound like Bane (no muscle, busy costume, short, Darth Vader mask, etc).

I had no problem with Bane up until that voice clip.

Then perhaps you shouldn't have listened to it, because personally I think it's silly to jump to conclusions about how much it will suck based on a lower quality recording and before any potential further work has been done with it.
If it's that it doesn't fit the preferred accent you would have hoped for, that's fair enough. If you are open to the possibility it could sound better when you get a much better listen of it later on, that would be more reasonable.

It's kind of tiring seeing just about everything being *****ed about to such an extent. Of course you're entitled to your opinions, but it doesn't make the most sense to me that these opinions (specifically any of the fully negative conclusions drawn) are primarily based off of spoiler, unofficial-quality material.
We're lucky to be getting a glimpse at these things, hearing these recordings, and then there are people who complain about what they have spoiled for themselves because it's not good enough - even though it isn't the finished product.

Perhaps I am one of very few that thinks there is a good possibility the finished product will sound awesome, understanding that we can't get the best idea from this clip, yet appreciating the direction they seem to be taking based on not only what could be heard but the details others actually present brought to us.

For christ sake he was intentionally over the top giving a speech . Without context this is just ******ed .

And he sounds pretty damn much close to his voice in Bronson , but that was great ?

I have listened to it plenty, not only do I dislike the voice (so it's not HQ, fine), I hate the delivery. I was absolutely thrilled that Bane would have Tom's regular voice (go back a couple pages), but this is horrible.

I'll give it a chance (it better change by the trailer), but I'm not happy.
