Whatever their movement, Batman is always one step below Bane in the City Hall's staircase. So, their height difference is maintained. The don't need boxes or special heels for this scene.

Exactly. So why should they use boxes and other effects make Bane look taller? The staircase works to their advantage. How do you assume that they won't make Bane higher and use the City Hall fight as your main argument for that?

If the wide shots are shot on street/eye level (as Nolan usually does with his hand to hand combat scenes) and there are people around Bane and Batman, they won't need boxes either. We don't know what's happening yet.

They're moving up the stairs in the videos but that doesn't mean its confirmed that it will be the final movement in the finished film.

oh you're silly. It's going to be understood that they are moving up the stairs, so the brain will perceive as them being the same height.

based on the videos its 100% confirmed that while Batman and Bane fight they are moving up the stairs in the building.

I get the feeling that Nolan will be really pushing the "rising" motif in every area, blocking, camera movement, thematically. Bane and Batman ascend up stairs, there's that shot of Bane climbing up out of a hole, there seems to be quite a bit of aerial action, etc. Combined with the fact that a lot of this stuff is shot during daylight, it seems that TDKR is permeated with ascension and light. Hope!

Maybe a scene or two with a striking theme of rising in the film (Bane climbing out of the hole, even though that's only rumored as far as I know might be one)...but to say that Batman fighting Bane while the two climb up the steps of a building is meant to symbolize something? Uhh...yeah, no.

t: Yeah, it amazes me how little people know about crafting a story, yet are really keen on dropping there bull***** opinions about it. I guess its a case of the "haves and the have nots". The having or not having of perception, talent and other traits that define a superior individual.

I'm not saying that that specific thing symbolizes something, but with enough reinforcement of upward movement throughout the film, the average moviegoer might take notice and actually get a physical sense of ascension, and then consider that thematically. Composition and camera work have a lot to do with how a film feels and the sensation evoked in the viewer.

Like Gill has confirmed this will be a RE-INVISIONED version of Bane. More so than anything Nolan has done with a comic-book character before.

Well that's the average moviegoer's loss and why a movie like The Dark Knight is so damn awesome. It is both brilliant filmmaking AND entertains the GA.

Im sure Tom doesnt take anything personally, As he said, he knows the hardcore fans get really specific about all the details. I think hes too small myself. But I am thinking they will do something in the final film to make him look bigger. So Im not that worried...
