So do you think banes mask will be explained at all in the film or left to speculation lilke the jokers origin?

I hope they actually detail what function they serve because without knowing they kinda look like lets make him look weird for the sake of it.

His reaction after visiting the Tusi and the Bane thread. His look says "I'm going to break some internet tough guys."

@Bruces: I think we'll get something. It may be a simple as the explanation for Scarecrow--a mask designed to evoke fear and serve as a gas mask--or as the Joker--the whole "War paint" talk in the prologue.

Couldn't help but notice, the article says issue 194 has "unseen behind-the scenes shots" from both BB and TDK? Now my interest is peaked...

Still wondering how the hell he eats anything...

Well I mean if you wanna get medically technical with it someone like Bane could eat through a feeding tube in his nostril or a vein if he had to.

A lot of you guys seem to not know how the body works or the intricate implications of "cut" and "bulk".

In Warrior, Tom Hardy was ripped. He was cut. He had a lot of lean muscle and got rid of a lot of body fat, he was probably around 8% -10% body fat.

He maintained that muscle and gained more through a bulk, but also gained body fat because the point of a bulk is to gain. There is no cardio going on.

He still has the same amount of muscle and more from Warrior, there is just more fat.

For some reason, a lot of people thing you have more muscle when you're "ripped". When really, you just have no fat to speak of and the muscles are just more visible.

He probably gained 20lbs and 10lbs of fat. Those are super rough estimates.

You'd be surprised what a little fat can cover up.

It is very possible to bulk up and still maintain your cut, even increase your cut. The Rock for instance increased his bulk and gained cut in GI Joe in comparison to Tooth Fairy. Christian Bale also gained bulk and also gained cut in BB, though he did lose bulk and cut in TDK.

Realistically, if Hardy aimed to put on 30 pounds of Muscle in 6 months, it's likely that about roughly 10-15lbs of that is fat, as the most amount of muscle a person can put on (naturally, with no "enhancements") is 1lb per week, so if he did 26 weeks (6 months) of training, the most amount of muscle he could have possibly gained is 26lbs and that's if he was VERY precise with his diet and training. But yeah, the additional fat makes him look bulked out and you need fat to gain mass in any case.

If by gaining mass you mean gaining muscle mass, then you are incorrect. Many people believe that myth that to gain muscle, you need to be fat first. Muscle does not convert into fat! We all have muscles. It just needs to be developed so that muscle cells increase in size, thus making the fiber's diameter thicker. There are many guys/gals out their that gain muscle mass without getting fat first. Protein is what increases these muscle cells. Not lipids!

No Joker shots I'm afraid. That's what I hoped for :oldrazz:

The scans of the BTS stuff were posted in the Photos thread. :yay:

Do you even know how big Bale got before he had to cut down? There is a reason he was called Fatman and not Batman in the early days of his shooting.

That's true. And it still doesn't excuse the fact that your earlier claim that 75% of Tom's weight gain was fat. That was ridiculous. I understand that you'd like to see a bigger and more cut Bane, but there is no way 22 pounds of Tom's weight gain was fat.

OK you've got your case in Bale but that doesn't mean you have to be fat before gaining muscle bulk. I've used the Rock as an example. His thickness fluctuates, but he has not been the chubster he was like when he first appeared in WWE as Rocky Maivia.

And have you even tried lifting in your life? When I was at boot, I got skinny as hell (something I have never ever been in my life due to my slow metabolism. 3 months after graduation, I gained a tremendous amount of muscle mass from being the skinny dude I've never been. I didn't need to turn myself into a fat tub of lard to gain muscle. Like I said, fat is fat and muscle is muscle. They are two different tissues!

Fat doesn't convert into muscle. Take nutritional biochemistry. The contributing factor to the thickening of muscle cells are amino acids, not lipids. You consume fats, that fat macronutrient will go into your adipose cells and get you fat.

I really hope they do give him a backstory. Joker having no origin was one thing, he always had a vague background, didn't he? (With the exception of B89, of course.) Even Killing Joke voided the origin a little with the 'if I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice' line. Bane on the other hand has a very definitive background, however much Nolan tinkers with it. I wouldn't be suprised if Neeson's cameo is with a pre-mask Bane.

I do not think we'll get that much of a back story. How long is the movie going to be? 2 hours and 30 mins at most probably? The movie will be so compact with so many events unraveling, including the conclusion and be all/end all to the trilogy.. I just don't think there will be enough time to give him a thorough backstory. Probably snippets of a backstory but that's about it.

More like his reaction to Halle Berry's Catwoman costume.

He's not the only one, but they all seem to have one thing in common: The Rock is their idol.

Hey, hey. Let's not drag Dwayne down with these Hardy haters, alright? He's an awesome guy.

That is one intimidating man.
