It's not just the height, but the proportions as well....unless there's also a 'smaller-head/wider-shoulders' insert ad you could post. :O

Probably mass creates such illusion. Also bald head does that too. I'm same height with Hardy.I lost 50 pounds. Now it seems i have bigger head, smaller shoulders and i look shorter overall :woot:

You really think that soldiers work 24/7? Get the hell outta here. When soldiers are off, they like to build their physiques. Why do you think there are crap ton of weight equopments in Afghanistan and Iraq? Because the higher ups know that's how soldiers like to pass their time when not on a mission. The only time soldiers are busy when deployed is when theyre on a mission. When off, they consume a crap ton of various supplements and lift. How do I know this? All I'm going to say is I have been to Iraq twice and been in over 4 different FOBs/COBs.

and what was your mos? cause when I was in Iraq with 4th bde we were on missions most of the day then slept went back out at night when we weren't doing missions we were sleeping cleaning or on tower guard. It was only the people who stayed on the fobs and barely did anything that were working out all the time. Out diets consisted of muffins water mres gatorade and the occasional goodies. When we were on the fob we only ate at dfac once a day. Our entire brigade was told no suppliments or energy drinks as you get to dehydrated and are prone to heart attack and severe dehydration, so either you were a poag and worked in supply or at a desk or did a support job I'd say you were full of it

and even when at home you do pt in the morning usually long runs and exercises for core and stamina, then the business of the day at 9 it could be a detail or training usually training or ***** work like lets pack this up unpack it i need a pen pack it again all day long, then a hour for lunch which was spent eating fast food cause after traffic and food wait you only got a half hour to eat then back to training and or details then go home between 5-10pm only to go home eat sleep wake up at 4:30 and do it all over again. During deployment training you report at 4:00 then go for weeks on end in a strange location and train for every possible scenario. You get 3 hours sleep a day if you are lucky 2 meals a hot meal and an mre. when you come back from training you do recovery, which is cleaning and repairing everything. Then you do more training. The only time you can work out is on leave, but all you want to do then is drink beer with your friends and family, get laid, and relax cause you might not ever do it again.

This thread should be renamed "When I was in the army..."

I walked 50 miles to work uphill both ways!

I know I once went in the forest as a shortcut and saw this tree it had tangerines or lemons or something and some guy talking to some kid and some bandit looking fellow....

were you caught in a fire in that forest?

I did suffer shin splints after that though it was a pain in the ass

'Chopper' is the one guy Bane would fear :woot:

1) Bane isn't in the US army, and he isn't hanging around a barracks. He's constantly in his mission, constantly moving.

2) lol at how you view the army beastmode, it ain't all like that.

3) ALL you are meaning is "im bigger than Tom Hardy"...okay. He isn't the Bane from the comics, he isn't lifting away like a jarhead with lots of time and creatine..so he fits whatever bill this character is ment to have..or he wouldnt have the part..got it? One day you'll talk about something else..seriously don't know why you aren't on a lifting site with a movie sub-section, you'd be at home there.

Beastmode is trying to lift the forum! I can feel it!

Yeah, beastmode hasn't really been in a regular discussion about the film or the character. There's nothing wrong to be displeased with Hardy's look, but if the only thing you're here to talk about is Bane's size, it's probably better if you move to another place.

All of his 292 posts are about Hardy's height. Except for 2 about Hathaway looking ugly. such commitment is worthy of admiration.

The fat over muscle kind of makes sense if Bane formed his original workout in prison...

(Please don't hurt me)

It would bother me a bit that Hardy's Bane actually looks smaller than Batman in the movie and that he is also a bit chubby with poorly defined muscles and not a lot of mass. But I've accepted Nolan's Batman as more elseword kind of story (or Alt.Universe if you will) in characterization and presentation of characters and the world (Ra's Al Ghul, Joker, generic looking Gotham) so that's why I don't mind. Im sure Bane is going to be an incredibly well written villain and Tom Hardy is a helluva actor (first saw him in Bronson, was very impressed) so im fine with it. :woot:

Yeah, Nolan's world has its own style and a B&R size Bane doesn't fit that. A great actor in the sort of shape that he's got into is enough for me. If they reboot Batman with a more exotic Gotham it will be different.
