I have no idea what his acting is like, but he looks the part. And I'm just glad that we're going to see Superman and Supergirl interact in-person on screen.

Of course, I'm hopeful that the *real* Superman is in the pod and that the distant, un-seen Superman was some kind of double created by the Fortress of Solitude to replace the real Superman when he went missing. And the double deliberately distanced him/itself from Kara because it didn't want Kara to learn that Superman was missing.

I don't think anyone was against it. Just most realized that this is a Supergirl show, not a Superman show. And likely accepted the assumed restrictions from WB.

I was never against it, I was just realistic in the face of insane optimism that they would ever get him. I also still think they are bringing him in to kill him or send him to space or something like that.

I don't think those that didn't want Superman on the show, myself included in that bunch were against it EVER. Simply not in the first season. As the show runners have stated, they wanted Kara to first stand on her own, and she now has done that and proven herself. No reason he can't pay her a visit every once in awhile.

I actually think with Cadmus's larger influence with them ushering in the possible return of the real hank in Jeremiah's body as the cyborg superman, (maybe even bringing in superboy this season) that the series is ripe for the reign of the supermen arc that followed the dos where they could put Kara in a situation where she would be forced to fill superman's shoes and take his place as the world's preeminent hero, I would also like to see them bring in steel. Maybe for the Eradicator they could draw on the history of Indigo becoming a hero and have her come back and transition her into a hero like they did with the Eradicator.

I am fine with dead or alive as long as they improve their clichéd writing and juvenile/childish/sexist-to-men dialogue. I am also glad to hear that we will get less Cat next season due to Kara's job change as she was really annoying.

What if Superman is simply not allowed to operate anymore, and being a law-abiding citizen, he adheres to those rules. So he doesn't die but still continues to exist, but can't act, leaving it in the hands of Kara.

Or alternatively, what if he's depowered?

I don't see why Superman has to die or be de powered in the show. Let him simply state to Kara that he will only help if she asks for it as he wants her to be her own hero. It's in line with what he did on the web chat to her in the first season anyway.

So that means he would only show up when Kara asked or the **** really hits the fan.
