Supergirl Tyler Hoechlin IS Superman

Still kind of irked that they cast someone so close in age to Benoist (not to mention the rest of the cast.... he's 7 years younger than the actress playing Lois' little sister), but I guess I'd be cool with it if they wrote it off with a whole Kryptonian's age slower than humans at a certain point kind of thing.... they've done that in comics, haven't they?

That's actually an inconsistency that some fans take as gospel these days. Facts are, Superman looks like a human man his own age and there have been some alt timeline takes like Kingdom Come set during his 50/60's where he gets grays and wrinkles like any other man that age. Now, some writers speculate that he is aging less under our sun or may even be immortal because of it but it's again, not totally official one way or the other as there are stories you could point to that counter than idea. For myself, ideally my Superman should look like he could pass for between 29-39, heck even a well kept mid forties is fine by me. Tyler certainly looks younger than the age Superman is supposed to be on the show, but... He's not looking way too young either. He's 28 but I wouldn't say he looks like a callow youth. If no one told me his age I would have said early to mid thirties actually. That's me though.

Looking forward to see how he plays him, I enjoyed the first season a lot but the continued excuses for him not helping at certain times was a little irksome. It will be nice to actually see him get involved now.

Also, is he going to be a regular or just someone who pops up to help every now and again?

Wouldn't surprise me if they introduce him just to kill him or otherwise make him permanently unavailable.

I wonder if they brought in Superman on TV because of Henry Cavill's Superman being dead in Man of Steel that illustrates death eliminates conflict between film and TV.

Maybe a new Superman tv series if he comes off very well?

I'm not really well versed in manips but I think he has a workable look.

That wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing as a two-parter would be enough for us to build care for this version and his death at the end of the two-parter would allow for some great storylines follow that in the show like having her step up to be the preeminent superhero in the world to fill Superman's shoes, while also doing the reign of the superman/multiple superheroes rising to fill his shoes with Kara subbed for the returned true Superman.

probably the latter.

that would be stupid.

yes please!

I'm getting very ahead of myself but God it would be amazing if we could get a Batman/Superman TV movie set in the CWverse. They could base it almost entirely on the Timm Batman/Superman movie and it wouldn't even have to break the budget.

Or even a Superman TV movie would be amazing.

That's how I thought he should have been handled in season 1. Have something "kill" him, when in reality, Kara is ability to place his body in stasis in the FoS. That gets him out of the picture and part of her mission going forward is to find a way to revive him

They could've made the entire series about Superman trapped in a dream-like state like "For the man who has everything." He could've imagined what it would've been like to not be Clark Kent but to live life as a woman named Kara Danvers instead. And in place of being Superman, he would've imagined he was Supergirl. :o

I just want an alternative Superman to the Snyder film Superman.

a more traditional take on the character and not the overly serious, grim dark version in Snyder's films.

I wouldn't imagine it would be on the cards with the movie version about. But it would be nice to see.

I honestly don't see another Superman sequel happening... He's just gonna be in the Justice League movies and in other peoples movies. Maybe we'll get another Superman in like 4 or 5 years but I think it's a good time for a Superman series

In the past it's been when they start using that character in a movie they're filming that they eliminate the character from use on TV.

Superman is in Justice League, which they're already filming.

I don't think this is the case. I think it's more likely that it's Geoff John's working some magic to make it a bit more lenient behind the scenes.

Plus, super smart to be bringing in a big character to grab attention for the first two episodes on a new network.

Personally I think we will get another Superman sequel at some point. So I don't see him just being in JL movies. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to a Superman TV show, but I imagine WB would.

Seriously this is huge guys
Batman and WW can't be too far behind

This is SUPERMAN !! In the CWVERSE who would've predicted this?

Anyone? It seemed inevitable that he would show up on Supergirl eventually. I don't think it has the large implications in Batman and WW though. Clark is inherently tied to Kara in a way those characters aren't to anyone else headlining a show
