so which one is Jimmy and which one is Clark?? :o

but seriously, just how tall is Mechad?? :wow:

Jimmy: "I moved to National City to get out of Superman's shadow."
Superman: "Actually, it's so I could get out of Jimmy's shadow.....literally. :o"

Mehcad is 6'3", Hoechlin is 6', I think something about the photo is making the height difference seem bigger than it is.

Nerd time: I love talking about the differences between each of the S and Batman symbols. Soooo...

The Reeve and Hoechlin S's aren't even close to being identical, though there are two similarities. The top serif is angled to the right, which is reminscent of Reeve's (it was the first thing I thought of when I saw it, too) and upon closer inspection, the bottom bulb part slides into the bottom of the S itself a bit more, whereas usually it's a pretty distinct separation in the marketing S... But even Reeve's doesn't have much of a bulb on it at all, just flares slightly... And that's it, and even those aren't 100% identical. The rest is literally just the standard marketing S.

Standard S:

Reeve's (the images on Google that just have the S a bit wrong too, so this'll have to do). Notice how the bottom of Reeve's (and Routh's and Smallville's for that matter) droops down more than the others. It's overall a bit wonkier and angled, too, particularly the main body of the letter itself (the Routh S is a great, smoothed out/refined version of the Reeve one, and Smallville's was essentially a more vertical version of the Routh one):

To me Tyler's S looks the same, except it is squashed.... :)

thanks.

yeah, maybe Mehcad is standing on higher ground in that pic.

though I've also seen sites list Tyler as really 5'11" or 5'11.5". but that's close enough to 6'. :cwink:

Actually I believe Mehcad is 6'4"...

Tyler looks better in those set pictures, but I still can't get with that cape attachment. Mostly because it reminds me of this:

Also, I thought he was just appearing as Superman. I didn't think they'd show him as Clark.

Very simple....her cape is attached to a corset under her suit. Very laborious to get on and off, and very uncomfortable until you get use to it, as she has confessed. I'm not sure that they wanted to go full out on his suit, (cost wise, time wise etc.) considering, as of right now he is in 2 episodes. So, do something that (as far as I'm concerned, and I'm sure many others) looks just fine, that is easier to get in and out of, and cost effective.

I think the rubber part at the top of the cape, where it attaches to the suit, is going to be digitally altered.

Hmmmmmm....that is a thought.

All of this. If anything, Hoechlin's S looks closer to the Gerard Christopher one.

That was definitely the most awkward looking of the L&C suits.

It doesn't bother me since it was quickly replaced, but it does look pretty bad, the biggest reason being that the S symbol practically reaches his waistline.

Also, the cape attachment of Hoechlin's suit reminds me of the way John Romita Jr. draws the cape attachment on the New 52 suits.

Yeah, I can only remember seeing it once or twice.
It was the first one they produced after the pilot (hence why there are more promo shots than actual frames in the series for that suit), before they quickly settled for a much better design in episode 3:

EDIT: And just 'cause I'm bored at 1:30AM, a very quick comparison of the S in live action:

The Reeve S and the Supergirl S? Not even CLOSE.

It looks like Superman was infected with the Kardashian Kryptonite.

He has gone commando for sure.

The BTS pics truly show how much they ****ed up the promo shot. Dude looks good as Superman. My only gripe is the belt seems too high up. Should've tapered it downwards in front.

Now I kinda wanna see them bring Batman into the CW-verse. I also wanna see a group photo of all the CW-verse heros in costume.

Nobody's even saying it's identical to the Reeve logo, but to say it's not even close is a flat out exaggeration. The serif is pretty close, and the serif is basically the thing that makes the Reeve logo the Reeve logo.
