Venom Revamp

Am I a total nerd for hoping they mention PansPermia during this arc?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panspermia

After reading all that, I certainly hope they do. It would make for an interesting development and provide expansion to concept behind symbiote. I have always objected to the way symbiote has been used, as a mere parasite of sort. It could be much more than that, it could be the key to creating an ultimate being with all the knowledge it must have learned through its previous hosts. Most of Spidey's villains, correct me if I'm wrong, are bound to Earth and know nothing more outside of its proximity. Why not perhaps have Venom or someone bond with symbiote to create a unique villain?

On side note, the theory, Panspermia, kind of reminds of Guyver, not entirely but sort of in the same vicinity that humans might be of alien origin.

Thanks for the summary though, I already did read it on Wiki. ;)

ah ok thanks for giving me an answer to my question i do agree that would be a cool addition to symboite's backstory.

You know, with the way Spectacular Spider-Man has been going, I really can't wait for the venom saga to kick off. I'm really looking forward to how they handle my favorite villain.

Agreed, I really have a feeling we are going to be very satisfied with Venom in this show.

I know how you feel. I've said it since the premiere; if they can make villains like Vulture and Electro respectable to me, I can't wait to see how they handle my favorite symbiote/reporter, amalgamation.(Even though Eddie is a different character now.)

Tisk, tisk. Vulture is a respectable character. An old-ass fart with a green skin-tight body suit who flies around while complaining about nothing.

All joking aside, (and I do like the Vulture), I've noticed that Toon Disney has a knack for re-reruning the 3-part SM:TAS Alien Costume saga. It makes me anxious to see this serei's take on it. Just wish that the Brock-fallout was being focused on more, feels like it has to be rushed now since we're only one episode away from the start of the Alien Costume saga.

Yes! My 2,529th post!

An overview of Eddie Brock

I just felt like posting up my thoughts and observations of Eddie Brock thus far in the Spectacular Spider-Man.

Let's talk about Eddie Brock from the Spectacular Spider-Man. It seems that he has been completely revamped, but also has a few elements from the 616 & Ultimate Spider-Man. It appears that his friendship with Parker seems to be a good addition, paying homage to Ultimate Spider-Man. It would appear that they're like brothers almost, obviously with Eddie as the older brother for Peter to look up to. I think I can say Eddie Brock genuinely is concerned about Peter , as if they were truly family. And I think Parker truly looks up towards Brock, and I suppose Brock did protect Peter from the bullies such as Flash Thompson. Eddie certainly looks like he can stand up for himself, no doubt. Again, as with Ultimate Spider-Man, Eddie is a lab assistant to Dr Connors and for the most part Eddie seems like a polite fellow. I like how they made Eddie Brock a former high school jock turned nerd, very cool indeed.

Obviously Eddie Brock knows his stuff, I like how he interacts with Parker when it comes to science, in addition to everything else. Science appears to be his strong point, and I imagine he knows his computer stuff as well. And it does appear he's been given a good sense of humor. Eddie Brock does seem to have concern for others and thinks of others, he certainly showed concern for Maxwell Dillon. There is no doubt he has courage, I mean he tried to take on Electro so he could distract his attention momentarily, a valiant effort to save his friends, despite the results. Eddie also seems to have great respect for Doctor Connors. It seems so far that Eddie Brock has been given excellent development and depth, a drastic change from his original counter part. And yet again, his courage shows when he tries to subdue the Lizard! I almost shouted "EDDIE WTF ARE YOU DOING?! GET THE **** OUT THERE!". Eddie was then thrown into Parker by the rampaging Lizard. But not only that, he chases after the Lizard! And finally, he uses himself as Lizard bait! I screamed, "EDDIE YOU ARE A ****ING MANIAC!" It does seem that Eddie Brock is a kind, caring person with a cool attitude. But underneath, one aspect is clear, he is a lunatic, there is no other way to put it. Finally we see the tension between Brock and Parker occur at the end of Natural Selection with the photograph of the Lizard, thanks to Peter. Brock was truly disappointed, he was very pissed of with Peter, but with good reason. You can see he was let down by Parkers choice, both him and Gwen Stacy were upset with Parker.

It would appear, despite the tension Brock is willing to let things slide but it's best if Peter kept his distance until things cooled down, that is easy to understand. There is no doubting that Gwen Stacy has a crush on Peter Parker, an it's obvious that Eddie Brock sees this. He also sees Parker being somewhat self centered and pushing her aside because he's too busy concerning himself with other girls such as Betty Brant, Liz Allen, MJ etc. And Eddie seems to be sympathetic to Gwen, as appears to truly feel neglected and Brock is a friend to her as well and he wants to cheer her up. But as mentioned, so is Parker and Brock is disappointed that Peter is acting this way. It's apparent that Harry Osborne doesn't seem to care about Gwen anymore, but he also seems to be ignoring Peter as well, because he wants to fit in with the "In-Crowd", as well as his goblin formula addiction. The problem worsens when Gwen sees Peter show up with Mary Jane Watson, it seemingly crushes Gwen a little bit more, and the look on Brock's face sums it up pretty well, "WTF is wrong with Peter?"

It's been said by the writers that Eddie Brock's dark side will be breaking through bit by bit until we really see what he likes underneath. On the outside he's a good person who cares for others, but on the inside, there is anger and lots of it. There is also a insane side to him which may become dominant soon enough. So I wonder what will be the last straw? What will set him off? What is it that will make him explode, it will between him and Peter no doubt, for that is what the mythos calls for. I've said it multiple times before, I am a Venom fan. Whether it be 616, Ultimate, Spider-Man TAS, Spider-Man 3 etc. I have been a fan for years, and for many years to come. I am truly looking forward to this incarnation of Venom in the Spectacular Spider-Man, Eddie Brock has been completely reborn, and for the better. There is depth, there is layers there is development, the ingredients of of a good character leading into the darkest depths of madness, perhaps encouraged even more by a certain alien visitor.

I will add more once we discover more of Eddie Brock in the following episodes, and when he finally becomes Venom. And considering the connection between Peter and Eddie, it's going to be that much more tragic.

^ You pretty much hit the spot there. I agree that its going to be quiet sad to see the two friends fight. But I wonder if Venom's actions will be justified. I mean up until now everything that Peter has done, in eyes of Eddie, he deserves a good spanking. I don't think of Eddie as a maniac if he is willing to risk his life to save others, rather he's brave and caring, and also forgiving to certain extent as shown in fourth episode. I guess that makes it even more interesting to see how will Venom change throughout the series, maybe they'll end up being friends again, well its a long shot considering Venom is supposed to be an arch-nemesis. But in the end, we have got a great host for the alien visitor.

except that as soon as Brock gets the symbiote he'd be like "oh Petes a great guy after all"

much more has to happen still, stuff that even with Peters memories still make him out to be a jerk

Exactly my thoughts. Great post!

Exactly.

I'm looking foward to seeing how Peter most likely will try to be nice to Brock, but Brock will continue being mean. It would show that he whent nuts.

I am sure between now and the last episode certain events will take shape that will drive Brock off the deep end. We will start to see more of Brock coming up. And hints here and there.

Yes, I don't think Brock will be the sane man he once was or one to be reasoned with. If he was sane to begin with. We will probably get more in depth into his psyche and past.

Yeah, also, I recall Benjamin Diskin sayng that Brock already has some mental problems.

Yes, I have heard this as well. Some people think we need a whole season with Brock in every episode showing him getting pissed at Peter and Spiderman blaming him for common colds, tripping over his own feet, and stealing his girl. Give it time, Venom will likely be full of hatred and rage for good reasons.

Yeah, I mean he's been developed all through this season, and we've seen him sort of change, so as I said, I think we wll see something big happen to Brock in upcoming episodes.

Are you guys forgetting that the symbiote will change Peter's personality. I'm guessing he'll do something horrible to Gwen and that'll piss Eddie off. That's how I'm seeing it.

P.S. THIS SHOW ROCKS!

yea either something bad to gwen or even eddie himself.
