Venom Revamp

In TAS it was explained that the asteroid was the whole point of their expedition. Astronomers on Earth found it floating close by the planet so they sent up John to investigate, and then as an added publicity stunt the shuttle would land at one of NYC's airports.

That was why the shuttle crashed in NYC.

Thanks, though tbh having an asteroid swing by close to the Earth is a pretty "random" event so I'm not convinced that it's a better "origin". However it is a more interesting premise given that the astronauts are actually asking for trouble in the TAS version by bringing a sample back!

Eh...Carnage is a bit violent for him to be done justice in this show.
90's series did do a good job however. but I wouldn't get my hopes up for this character.

as for Venom who will be shown in the next 3 episodes....maybe next 2 if they give us a sneak peak when spidey ditches his living black threads.
I have HIGH expectations for him. I think this will be the best interpretation since the 90's series. I'm a little wary though...because not taking gwen to the formal and helping out with the lizard WHILE getting money to help his aunt pay the bills. (thats helping 2 great causes and making his own unselfish sacrifice of losing his internship. which eddie would know after obtaining the suit.) is a bit FAR of a stretch to hate someone that puts everything else first. but i think we will get a good reason while peter is in the black suit himself as to why eddie is going to hate him. anyone agree?

Problem is, if it is purely because of "Venomized" Peter then Eddie is either an idiot (because he'll know that it was the symbiote messing with Peter and not the real him) or a patsy (the symbiote is blocking his memories and using him).

yah they've done a pretty piss poor version of Brock, its too bad, Peter, MJ, and Harry (minus the voice) have been great, but Brock sucks

Chill out dude...no one's complaining. lol. most of us are HYPEDt: for this ep. they haven't dropped the ball yet so I don't think they will with someone like venom and if they do i'll STILL watch this awesome show.

we're just discussing how the seeds they've planted so far kind of cancel themselves out...who knows he might not hate peter at all until after he gets the suit. or he might be a vigilante thats too violent and pete might have to take him down.

(by the way...it has been a season of character development seeing that venom is in the last episode. lol)

Is it just me, or do they seem to be developing a parallel between Peter and Harry? Harry took the Globuline Green as a performance enhancer but it was destroying his personality which is pretty much what the symbiote will do to Pete. I'm thinking Harry might learn sPidey's identity have a part in saving Pete from the symbiote. Storywise, it kind of fits together, doesn't it?

As for Brock, I know we were all looking forward to huge falling out that turns him into a reprobate but there was actually very little done turn him against Pete esPecially if Venom gives him Pete's memories. Maybe the symbiote is the one who'll really hate sPider-Man for his betrayal and Brock will pretty much just be a host.

Well, the episode he loses the suit in will be called "Intervention" so likely it'll be his friends that make him realize what the symbiote has done to him and get him to lose it.

I see it all the same as the JJJ hatred arc.
Not only did Spidey mock him in "the invisible hand"

but he took the spotlight away from his son. who had risked his life and in his eyes is the true hero that didn't get the credit he deserved. that seed was planted in the last ep. and im sure it will blossom in the next episode or 2. I think Venom will get the same treatment. we've been given little reasons. we've seen his hot headed side but overall he's a good guy. I think that will change in episode 12. I think eddie has a part of his personality we haven't seen yet. the good thing about this show is that they know how to balance there characters. so i think they thought over exposure of eddie would have made it too obvious that venom was coming to soon....does that make sense to anyone?

Well, TAS set up Brock's hatred of Spidey in the first two stories (Night of the Lizard and the Spider Slayer 2-parter) and then we didn't see him again until the "Alien Costume" 3-parter so SSM can do the same.

Even though, in Eddie's eyes, Peter has become very selfish, something will push Eddie over the edge in the next episodes, possibly an "Venomized" Peter saying something to Gwen, or, possibly, doing something towards Eddie, perhaps a little scuffle between the two?

To me, I kinda like how Eddie should only be mad at Peter right now...when Eddie becomes Venom, in his mind, he will just see how Peter is more "selfish" because he's the hero, aka, Spider-Man and that will very much upset Eddie's fragile mind.
