So depending on how much it manages to increase on Saturday w.r.t Friday in China, Venom can achieve 250m on the low end to 265m+ on the high end. There's also a chance that Venom beats A:IW's 2nd weekend in China (54.1m) if the former drops close to 50%.

That'll mean Venom will have the 5th best (it's already locked for 6th) 2nd weekend of all time in China for a Hollywood movie. And Venom's doing all of this with a bad ER.

Glad to see this film is a juggernaut domestically and overseas.

Even though it's been said already that the inclusion of Carnage wouldn't lead to an R-rating even with him being there, I'm curious if that could work in the film's favor again given how much money the film made with a PG-13 rating.

The fact that it will rival the box office of Spider-man: Homecoming despite Venom's considerably smaller budget is proof positive that Venom is connecting with more than just previously-existing fans. Venom's name recognition accounts for some of the early buzz, but the film is obviously standing on its own merits with audiences.
