As flickchick already said, they have similar facial structure. Most noticeably in jaw line and high cheekbones.

The Hype frequently picks rather bad photos for their front page articles. The one they've used for Kidman is no exception:

They chose a bad pic for Troll Click Bait. Plain and simple.

I would personally prefer someone who has played some kind of warrior woman or action heroine before. That would lend a greater weight to Hippolyta that she was once a warrior princess too, in the same way that Russell Crowe gave Jor El a certain gravitas.

Don't know who there is like that though who also is a big name and can act. Lena Headey could work maybe, but she's not as big a name as Nicole Kidman.

Weird. I don't see the resemblance between Gadot and Kidman at all. Kidman is a blue-eyed pale redhead with dainty features, while Gadot is an exotic dark-eyed olive-complexioned beauty. Not that it matters, most people don't expect movie moms to look like their movie daughters, and the makeup dept can work wonders. I just don't notice the resemblance some here do. I wouldn't even guess the two are cousins, much less mom/daughter.

Looking at what people have been indicating as where they look alike(cheeks and jaw), its a very slight resemblance. And that's just based on the two pics on this page.

I actually passed around my phone during our group lunch today and showed a handful of people the comparison pic to make sure I wasn't crazy, lol, and literally nobody thought there was any family resemblance whatsoever. But if there actually is, we must thank Nicole's surgeon. She's had work done. t:

Anyway, I'm still crossing my fingers that Nicole is Circe. That would be so amazing. And it wouldn't be the first time misinformation about DCEU steered fans wrong. Even if Snyder claimed Nicole is up for high ranking Amazon warrior, he could be intentionally misleading folks. He probably does it with a smile on his face.

No. But considering her age, it's not as likely as other stuff. Cheetah does seem like a cooler role than a Hippolyta or a Circe.

Considering how heavy CGI and stunt doubles are utilized in any and everything action oriented in comic movies, I don't think age is an issue.

Sneider said she's to play a "high-ranking Amazon", so you you can forget about Cheetah guys.

Unless they've made some drastic changes, and Cheetah's an Amazon traitor or something.

Just saying, its a thought.

In Super Friends, she posed as an Amazon, in comics she's reincarnated from a dead Amazon, and I forgot her name but in the New 52 there was an Amazon that always questioned Diana's Amazon heritage and was threatened by her.
There has also been traitorous Amazons in the comics.
They can easily make Cheetah an Amazon.

Though without that, is Kidman too old for someone like IDK, Artemis? Im not super knowledgable of WW's mythos, forgive my ignorance.

If she's "too old" for Cheetah, she's "too old" for Artemis.
