Days of Future Past What´s gonna happen in Age of Apocalypse? [Discussions based on DOFP]

But about 90% of DOFP is centered around the First Class set and it's getting both critical and box office success.

That should at least tell them to have a little bit more confidence in them. 65% of people buying tickets through Fandango did so just because Jennifer Lawrence was in the movie. That's insane!

Give credit where credit is due - they carried this movie.
Exactly!! People make it seem like OT is the be all end all,OT was great but give credit to FC as well as being great as well. Honestly why i liked OT more was because Storm was in it, but with them bringing her for Apocalypse im all for it. Both cast are great and the majority of the movie was the FC so they do deserve alot of credit and just as many people wanted to see them as well.

I guess I am not too familiar with the horsemen stuff. What does it mean to be a horseman? Is it like mind control? Can someone please explain this

Basically Apocalypse recruits members as his horsemen in exchange for something in return. Once they get that thing they carry out his requests. Usually not pleasant.

I think Singer and Kinberg understand that the future of this franchise lies in the past and as much as they keep on saying the future is open for more movies with the OT actors, I don't think we'll see them until after the FC cast is done, be it after Apocalypse or how many movies they're gonna get McAvoy, Fassbender, Lawrence and Hoult for.

When Kinberg mentioned the presence of some OT actors in Apocalypse I figured we'd see them in little cameo roles, maybe just a scene of them fighting crime in the future and then we'd cut to Professor X and Logan with the Professor telling Logan of all the adventures of the FC cast in the 80s and onwards. Kinda just like narrating it, which is kinda cool not gonna lie, and a pretty good way to see them even if the OT actors aren't the main roles.

And I love the OT but I'm definitely not ready to let go of Fassbender, McAvoy and Lawrence yet. Maybe JLaw, but definitely not Fassbender and McAvoy. I also hope Beast will get his due in Apocalypse. His arc was kinda neglected in DOFP.

Quite frankly, I think both FC cast films are better than the OT films were. Like, much better. I agree, both casts are great, but with DoFP, I felt closure to the OT cast, and I'm ready to enjoy what the FC class does from here onward.

Co-sign. Fassenbender's Magneto is the man.

Funny how many here now want to dismiss original films and cast.

Some with all the promation with OT cast act like they played no role In DOFP opening as
It did.

Im not dismissing the OT at all I just would like to see them move forward with younger incarnations and flesh out some other character I personally only liked the OT because of Storm. I like the OT and wouldnt mind another move from them, but the talent from FC is great as well and bring alot to the table.

I totally agree with you.

I'm not dismissing them. It prob is part of why it made what it did. I'm just expressing my personal preference.

They advertised the hell out of the future sequences and that was literally all we got, everything shown in the trailers and commercials. Adds up to 10 minutes probably, if that.

The future scenes at the beginning were at least 10 minutes then the final scene for the OT cast was at least 4-5 minutes. Then add all the battles and inbetween scenes before the climax/start, the future had at least 25 minutes in the film. Also, the film went back to the future like at least 20 times. Some of them are 3 seconds short but still. You also have Hugh Jackman appearing in most of the scenes for the FC cast members and we know that the Wolverine we saw from the film is the one from the future.

I recently read where Kinberg was open to using time travel again. I think it'd be awesome if they took some inspiration from "One Man's Worth."

Just a rough idea, but basically we'd get the future portions again and past portions.

In the future, we discover that Apocalypse has already been awakened. He's created a horrific future for mutant and humans; the X-Men are basically waging a war against him (Age of Apocalypse). To win the war, Apocalypse goes back in time and kills Xavier.

The X-Men decide to send someone back in time to prevent it and help defeat Apocalypse before he can cause the destruction of the future.

Everyone wins :D. We get to see the future X-Men; with the future sequences taking place in the corrected future portrayed in DOFP.

And the 1980s gives us our major portion of film devoted to the First Class cast.

I hate to be one to say it but one's worth was their version of age of apocalypse.

Apocalypse will be the films loose version of age of apocalypse and DOFP showed they look at comics more than animated shows even though they adjust comics to fit films.

I will bet apart from wolverine in 1980's any other OT cast will be cameos In bookened sequezes.Expext the action part of film with FC cast and wolverine who may become horseman of apocalypse.

No one is dismissing the OT cast or the films because we wouldn't have DOFP without them.

You can still like the OT movies and cast but feel like you're ready to move on to something different, nothing wrong with that. No one's going around and taking away your original movies from your home or from stores.

I understand the show was their version of AoA. I'm just saying I think it'd be a great way to bring back OT cast members. And it'd be great sci-fi.

OT cast >>>

My opinion. And the FC cast is very very talented and great.

Really, everybody has there preferences. But at the end of the day...Both cast's are great and both cast's contributed to the success equally imo. Hugh Jackman is a huge draw as well as J-Law.

Also, Fandango hardly accounts for most of the BO numbers. Walk Up's still contribute the most imo.

Honestly, I see both casts being involved again. DoFP was too successful for Fox and Singer to only choose one cast.

While I don't think that time travelling will be used, I do think the movie will cover a couple eras. Like the 80s would be the first time encountering Apocalypse, and the later future is when he's actually going to start the Age of Apocalypse.

I'd still like to see X:A be the FC team defeating Apocalypse, and then another film where he returns and the OT cast take him down. Would be a final hurrah for the OT cast and a chance to do a two-movie event

when you say a two-movie event, are you saying thats for the 2016/2018 X-Men film?

What about Wolverine 3?

This is my problem as well. Let's say that APOCALYPSE ends on a cliffhanger and the 2018 Marvel film from Fox is in fact the conclusion of the APOCALYPSE story, just set in the future (2023) with the original cast members. Where does Wolverine 3 fit in with that equation?

I'm not taking about the film per se. I'm thinking more of timeline wise.

This is what I want. Completely and totally.

What's the date on Wolverine 3?

March 2017!

Thats pretty easy to solve. Like I said in the other thread, Wolverine 3 could serve as an inbetween and a tease to Apocalypse's return.

Another idea that just came into my head. Include Angel in Wolverine 3 and give him a fake death then in X-Men 5, he's now Archangel.

Seeing as Wolverine 3 now isn't going to be Wolverine and Yukio (Mariko?) flying around the world, it could be a nice bridge between the FC and OT films. That said, Wolverine 3 should include our Logan and not doomed Logan from the 50 year gap. So maybe set it in 2023, with him exploring the new world he created

Given the news about Tatum as Gambit maybe getting a solo, I am thinking that other Fox Marvel Film is Gambit. Still unsure if the OT cast gets another movie.

I can't see Tatum getting a solo movie. As well-liked and popular as he is, his most successful movies box office-wise are ones where he's not solo/main draw of the movie.

I want Gambit to be horsemanified and frozen in Apocalypse carbonite to be reawoken in an OT sequel featuring Rogue.
