Back To The Future on Blu-Ray. Looked and sounded amazing...

Agreed. I maintain my opinion that his two best films are Above The Law and Marked For Death.

Many people praise Under Seige as his best film, but I disagree. Tommy Lee Jones' character was built up to be a total badass, a worthy adversary of Steven Seagal's. But in their climactic fight, which lasted all of 30 seconds, Tommy Lee Jones gets cut and stabbed about a dozen times and his head driven into a computer monitor, while Steven Seagal gets a tiny little cut over his eye. THAT's supposed to be an even match up? The climaxes of Above The Law and Marked For Death are far less one sided, making them far more exciting and thus, more entertaining.

Under Siege and Above the Law are my two favourite Seagal movies, and I've always had a soft spot for Fire Down Below. The bad guys barely getting a hit on him is a flaw in all his films, the worst offender was Under Siege 2 IMO, they built the whole movie towards a showdown between Ryback and the silver haired badass merc, and then Ryback just destroyed him with ease.

I'm a big fan of Glimmer Man. I see to remember the action in The Patriot being pretty good too, although it's been a long time since I've seen it. (not to be confused with the Mel Gibson film of the same name)

The Glimmer Man starts off really dark but then turns into a buddy buddy cop action flick. I only vaguely recall The Patriot, wasn't it a TV movie?

This was a let down for me too. The supermarket scene was great, so was his escape from the hospital. Otherwise meh. Until this glorious moment...

:lmao: The best thing is that the voice is in his head and he's talking to an empty room.

Sworn to Silence

Some random LTM starring Neve Cambell that I watched mostly because I was kind of confused why NC would resort to something so silly as a LTM. 2/5 *'s

Also Neve and her brother look pretty much like the exact same person.

Straight to video/TV, yeah. I don't remember it all that well either, it does serve as a great example of Segal's "I don't fight" trope.

This was made amidst Seagal's transition from theatrical releases to DTV releases. The premise is simple enough, Seagal heads off to Thailand to rescue his kidnapped daughter, a few CIA and political twists are thrown in as well as a Buddhism vs Voodoo sub-plot that I'm sure was Seagal's doing.

The fight scenes are fairly solid even though you can see the obvious body double anytime Seagal does anything athletic, but the shootout sequences are poorly executed, low rent John Woo wannabe stuff. This film is probably unique for being the only time Seagal has fought a transexual assassin.

The weirdest aspect are the scenes in which clearly someone else voiced Seagals lines in post, plus there is an awkward "romantic" subplot in which big Steve hooks up with a girl who looks as young as the daughter he is trying to rescue. :(

5/10

Yeah he's a scientist living at one with nature in it. I prefer him as the ex-CIA badass with a murky past. :D

I still haven't been compelled enough to see it. I guess it's because it's a normal people with old people, and plus I hear it's really depressing.

That will win you some Oscars right there.

Everything or Nothing

Very cool Bond documentary on Fleming and Broccoli and Salztman for making Bond the icon that is is.

Star Trek: Insurrection - 5/10

I lost my eyeballs by ripping them out of my sockets out of pure boredom. Can anyone help me find them?

God help me with Nemesis. GOD HELP ME.

I bet I could find some entertainment with that Star Trek film compared to Amour. lol

Just watched Flight. It was a pretty good movie. Some slow parts but overall I like it. I'll give it a B-

The Switch (2010) Jennifer Aniston and Jason Batmeman.

A truly amazing film, the simple but beautiful and thoughtful story is told through some awe inspiring visuals and emotionally well judged, low key performances. 10/10

L.A. Confidential - 10/10

Just love this movie.

Star Trek: Nemesis - 6/10

Honestly, not as horrible as people say or what I expected. This is better than Insurrection. At least this movie had stakes, danger, tension and a clear cut villain, played by Tom Hardy, who was actually pretty damn good in this. All of his scenes with Picard were very well done and the clone aspect was well executed. So yeah... pretty much all of what Insurrection wasn't. Though I'm glad to have seen the franchise rebooted after this, because it did need it.
