Jurassic Park 3D - after countless viewings oh VHS, DVD, and Bluray, this movie still has it. Also, the 3D wasn't bad either.

Evil Dead (2013)

It was bloody as hell...literally. It's definitely the old Evil Dead in style and I had a lot of fun with it. The characters other than Mia were pretty good, in the original there wasn't much dialogue between the characters so this was a sort of an improvement. I love all the easter eggs and cues from the old films. The gore when it happens is pretty awesome but I was sorta left wanting more.

Same here. That was my only disappointment. I would have enjoyed it more if I stayed away from all the reviews. Too many critics were going overboard with how bad the violence was.

I'm hoping if there's an unrated cut on home video it will throw a lot more back into the film. As of right now I give the film a 3.5/5, it was still pretty damn fun and like you said there were a lot of easter eggs and cues from the old films, especially in the sound effects department.

Spring Breakers
The editing style made Spring Breakers feel repetitious, but I found the film offered enough entertainment to keep my attention, if you know what I mean...I'm talking about James Franco of course.

The ABC's of Death
A mixed bag. Some shorts are clever and very well executed, while others are pointless and self-indulgent.

'Gangster Squad'

My second viewing of this and I liked it much better.

Trance - 4/5

A surprise hit for me. Absolutely engaging and entertaining with a lot to think about. In fact, I'm still thinking about it. Solid performances, great direction and a smart story along with great music make this a film I am happy that I went and saw. Though the occasional tonal shift can be quite jarring sometimes.

'Identity Thief'

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it's a tad too long.

The Place Beyond the Pines

Literally the best movie I've seen in years. Unbelievable.
