I want Daniel Craig to stay as Bond as long as he wants.
I want Daniel Craig to stay as Bond as long as he wants.
Less so than The Ancient One in Dr.Strange that's for sure.
Bond is a born and bred Brit and in a modern context i.e not the 50's and 60's that doesn't necessarily mean someone white.
That is not true at all. The sort of snobbery, conservatism, and old money status that Bond possesses in both literary and cinematic portrayals is indicative of generations worth of privilege and status, which is not consistent with coming from a minority racial background, even in 2016 Britain. It takes a lot of revisionist history to make those attitudes and upbringing consistent with a non-white racial background. It is also not consistent with Bond being descended from Sir Thomas Bond (as established in OHMSS) or Skyfall Manor being the Bond family's ancestral home.
No, it isn't.I think age is the only think holding him back too.
I think people are getting the black Bond thing twisted. 99% of people who want to see Elba specifically, as Bond want to see him as Bond because he's Idris Elba not because he's black.
I think age is the only think holding him back too. If Craig had decided to leave after Skyfall for whatever reason I think they might have gone for Idris but now it's probably too late in the game.
And i believe that, but the fact that he is black is not something people can run away from.99% of people who want to see Elba specifically, as Bond want to see him as Bond because he's Idris Elba not because he's black.
Is this really happening? Am i being punk'd?
Can you even read? Or think at the same time, for that matter?
How am i using Ad hominem?
You do understand that it only applies when you DON'T defend your point of view, right?
In all my posts i gave reasons why turning Bond into anything than a white male is dumb?
How the hell is this hypocrisy?
Where are your reasons?
All you keep spitting is that "i'm racist".
I never said a role is too big to be played by a black person, i don't even know how the **** you arrived to the conclusion, except that....you're dumb.
And yes, i'm attacking you at this point since i already explained myself ad nauseam.
But please, give me your point of view that is not "you're racist".
I'm going to try to explain once again what ad hominem means....It's entertaining seeing you being an immeasurable c***. And then having the gall to call me out on using ad hominem. **** you.
Is this really happening? Am I being punk'd? Or are so self absorbed as not to see that I was being entirely respectful towards you while you attacked me incessantly from the very outset.
You did?I already explained my POV. I can't do anything beyond that if you decide to pretend it doesn't exist and call me names instead.
Where is your point??!?!?!?You're fine with blacks as long as they are not the big roles. Gotcha.
No....not here as well.....weirdYou should read your last paragraph. It's exactly what you said. Nothing ridiculous about it at all.
You are fine with Money Penny being black because she isn't a big role. Implying that if it was, being black would be a problem for you. Blacks should be in their place.
Abusing every adjective you know doesn't erase what you said. I'm sorry you are so adept at coming across as having questionable racial preferences even if you think you don't.
?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?Yeah. Your entire series of replies to me is filled to the brim with it. Have you ever heard of hypocrisy?
None of this changes the fact that you think if a rule is too big it shouldn't be played by a black person. Own it. Attacking me will not change that.
No?!?!?!?!?You're insane. I never, ever said you're racist.

It makes it sound that my post was racist, which had nothing to do with it, and it's quite weird and sad that people see it that way.
In fact, by turning Bond black, makes it more about race than anything else, and THAT'S much more racist that whatever i can say.
Like i said before, i'm more than fine with Moneypenny being black, since she, even being a iconic character, was never a big role.
So, you did called me a racistWhen they come up with another way to interpret what you directly said, you can let me know. For now, no amount of hypocritical mud slinging at me will change what you implied by that post.
There is nothing wrong in disagreeing.I disagree with Isildur, but I've read a couple of the Bond novels and I sort of see his point.
Anyways, I'd agree to disagree at this point. Starting to get personal.

My point is simple, Bond is a white straight male, he was created as such, he was always portrayed as such.....that's it, it makes no sense to change just to appease the SJW crowd.
How will a Swedish suggestion stir this conversation?
But you can't expect people to endorse an "elseworld" trilogy....You can do an elseworlds type reboot film series for 3 films where Bond is from the streets of London rather than a Scottish oligarch. After it's run it's course bring Bond back like Classic Coke. All the superheroes you brought up have endured for the better part of a century because they've been able to adapt and subvert expectations by telling different stories. I would not want to live in a world where The Dark Knight Returns, Kingdom Come, and Red Son doesn't exist. These stories have never been considered part of the main continuity, but they've had an undeniable influence on the entire genre.
Why can't the same mentality be applied to Bond? Other than "that's not how Ian Flemming wrote him". I'm pretty sure Superman in 2017 isn't exactly the same guy Shuster & Sigel thought up in 1937-1938.
