The Avengers "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be Hemsworthy, shall possess the power of Thor" - Part 4

So was Loki actually hurt when Iron Man crashes the Cap/Loki party and blasts him, or did Loki just want to be captured? And if he did want to be captured, and Stark didn't show up, I wonder how long he would've played with Cap before surrendering or possibly killing him?

Which isn't really that hard to do in a fight, it has more to do with where you're hit than how hard you're hit.

While that is true it must be pretty difficult to make a bulletproof man bleed.

That's a pretty good question. I think if Loki blasted Cap's head off he expected SHIELD to retaliate with crazy force anyway and take him in. That or Iron Man really has the means of hurting him. Thor did avoid those bullets from that jet firing at the Hulk earlier in the movie so it wouldn't surprise me if Stark had ordinance even more effective than that.

I think Loki was just trying to get a feel for the heroes abilities.
He would've surrendered eventually, probably without killing cap

Then again, Captain America in not that easy to kill, even for an Asgardian god, so I think Loki would've surrendered to Cap eventually. If you actually watch closely Loki wasn't really fighting to kill, he was more throwing Cap around and having fun.

My guess is that if Loki chose to fight it out, against Iron Man alone, he'd have had a challenge, but he would have won. He has enough firepower to hurt Iron Man, the ability to avoid and evade attacks with illusion and invisibility, and can probably mess with Tony's head too, if he chose.

Where it gets dicier is if he's trying to fight Iron Man, *and* Cap, *and* Black Widow in the Quinjet at the same time. Natasha pelting him with chaingun fire could be a dangerous distraction when he's trying to fight Tony, and either could leave Loki distracted enough for Cap to try and disarm him.

Definately :word:

I still don't think jet bullets could hurt a man who survived a 5 mile drop unscathed, I think it was more of a warrior's reflex.

Only Thor could/would smile after being hit by the Hulk.haha

I would be alot more excited about seeing Thor and Loki fight side by side if he wasn't so "plain" in the MCU.

He can't fly, shape shift, create force fields, animate objects, or anything else outside of teleporting and duplicating.

Well, I thing if anything, since his powers are magic based, he can always "learn more magic" and learn how to do those things; as opposed as having an already set range of abilities...I dunno, what do you think??

Ya know, it would have been cool if Loki had used magic in the gala similar to like he did in Thor in turning the glass into a snake, just to freak out the people.

While reading all the discussions why Thor runs for cover when the jet shoots I get a simple thought: When you're on a walk passing a meadow with a lawn sprinkler you may walk around the spraying water. The drops won't hurt you but it may be unconfortable to get wet.

So I think it's unconfortable for Thor to get hit by the bullets so he went out of the way.

Another factor is that both Thor and Avengers have actually played it somewhat subtle with Loki's power set. They show him doing things, but they often don't put up big shining neon signs saying "THIS IS WHAT HE CAN DO". For instance, it seems pretty certain to me that he has a full array of telepathic abilities at varying levels. . . but the movie doesn't go "Yo, he's reading someone's mind," it just has him show uncanny knowledge, or look through a camera at someone he's speechifying to.

To me it seems that he only has astral projection and no telepathic ability. His mind controlling and energy blasting powers came from that staff that Thanos gave him.

Eh, he had energy blasting in Thor. Certainly the staff gave him bigger blasts. As for astral projecting, that doesn't cover his scenes on Earth in Thor, so while he does have that, I don't think that's all he has. I stick to my point: he shows signs of having general purpose psychic powers.

i believe were all forgatting Loki got shot at at the beginning, so i don't think Thor would be hurt at all. It's one of the movies flaws IMHO. I commented on that earlier and someone responded that it must have been a different movie the one i saw! He did not agree that Thor had ducked for cover. Anyway, again, did anyone notice the Thor blood infused dagger conveniently tossed in Stark tower after Thor vs. Loki? A clone in the works, perhaps.

that would be cool.

Yea but then again why would Thor not move. Thor's a warrior and was just avoiding unnecessary damage (Even if it would have been extremely minor). Its like asking why did Thor block the energy blast that where directed at his head. He could have allowed him self to be hit and keep fighting without pause but why take the unnecessary damage when it could just be avoided. For him its just instinct.

I fully believe Thor can take bullets (even bullets from a fighter jet) but just because you can, doesn't mean you want to. I have no problem with him getting out of the way.

i think of it as him getting out of the way so he can go see what Loki is up to

Like I said earlier, its a reflex. Thor isn't use to fighting stuff that can't hurt him, since even your average mook from a major place in the Nine Worlds is wielding a weapon that can at least scratch or bruise him.

Cloning is for lazy story tellers.

What'd you say?! :cmad:
