yeah tho early on we didn't know Gaea/Jord was his real mom. lol THAT's why there was always an argument over where the powers came from.

He had thunder powers because mythic Thor had thunder powers. Mythic Thor's mother was the earth goddess too. I wouldn't get hung up on it :cwink:

Mythic Thor had a belt to enhance his abilities, like Ultimate Thor. I kind of like that Millar went right back to the inspiration and took new things to twist. God of the common man= democracy campaigner, Son of Jord= Eco Avenger.

These are a few scans that show Thor controlling the weather without Mjolnir

Here's another instance, Thor has the Odinforce in the pics below but I don't think that has anything to do with his weather control.

Well the Belt of strength and the iron gauntlet were also used in the myth too.
In the newer comics the Rune of Strength is Thor's new belt buckle but we don't know for sure if that's the new belt of strength.

In the Movies so far the Wrist bracer on the Right arm is longer than the left hinting that it could be the same idea as the Iron Glove.

Yet I still think these are used for the Comic version to focus his own latent powers in some fasion.

on another Thor Subject....Started a 3D/virtual model of the movie Asgard

Australian actor Chris Hemsworth up for BAFTA Award

CHRIS Hemsworth is still hammering away at Thor glory.

The Aussie actor, whose action film was a massive box office success worldwide, is up for the British Film And Television Academy's rising star award, the entertainment news website Variety reports.

Also on the longlist for the award are Tom Hiddleston, Felicity Jones, Eddie Redmayne, Adam Deacon, Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence and Chris O'Dowd.

These eight will be whittled down to five on January 17. The winner, who will then be voted by the public, will be announced at the BAFTA ceremony on February 12.

In the past, the gong has gone to the contender who appears in the year's highest grossing film, thus putting Hemsworth among the favourites.

UK actors Simon Pegg and Sienna Miller were among with jury who put together the longlist.

Since taking on the title role in Thor, Hemsworth has packed on more than 9kg of muscle to become the rippled Norse god of thunder - and the new body requires constant protein to maintain it.

Hemsworth played the hammer-wielding Norse god Thor in the superhero movie from Marvel directed by Kenneth Branagh.

Because I have NOTHING else better to do; I just noticed something about Thor's armor in "The Avengers"

In the EW photo shot of him; the left and right sides of his armor around his upper waist has a metallic look to it:

Yet in ALL of the photos that we've seen thus far of Thor with his chainmail look for the film, he doesn't have any armor attached to his sides:

I'm starting to wonder on how many types of outfits Thor's going to have in this film.lol

Maybe his armor evolves like a Pokemon?

Oh, and I'm just going to go with the simple explanation that it's just the vast difference in the lighting.

Well look what happened when Odin banished Thor.
I'm sure the Armor can arrange to what ever look Thor is happy with or needs at the time

That would be amazing. :woot:

I see that I posted those scans for nothing.

heh Avengers Origins? Yeah I through a fit too in the comic thread BT.

Google Sketch up, it's free, easy to use, and no trial time to worry about.

Good thing is, I finished that Arena back there behind Asgard's Castle, started on the back wall of the castle and my laptop froze. BASICALLY if your computer doesn't play ALL video games don't do too detailed things or it'll crash your computer.
I have to finish Asgard on my Desk top. lol

another thing hehe look at the water falls back the WITH the arena...looks like an Areosmith logo. :D

That's looking pretty awesome so far. Can't wait to see the finished product.

The "wheels" on the walls are a pain. Granted it's the same pattern in each quarted section, the placements are at different angles.
I really wish I had Tony Stark's computers :D

The photos from EW magazine. I forgot how ugly they were. :p
