The Avengers "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be Hemsworthy, shall possess the power of Thor"

The lyrics and visuals were pretty good, but the electrocrap dance music was totally wrong for it... I think it would be funnier if Hammerfall were providing the music. :woot:

Thor coming back to earth will be such an interesting plot point, especially if he doesn't come back to earth until the middle of the film. It'll definitely give the movie a bigger feel. It'll feel like more than a movie.

i just wonder how they are going to do it Maybe Loki brings him back somehow...

or Odin shows Thor how to do it. I'm sure Odin would know how to dimensional jump.
Besides whose to say Thor won't be arguing with Odin to come back to Earth for the first part of the film?
I mean even after Thor learns humility there's always been that one Argument where Thor likes to be on earth and Odin doesn't want him to interfere in our business.

Yep, I'm hoping that Odin finally reaches a point where he's willing to let Thor come to earth and shows him how to dimenson jump with Mjolnir.

Huh; I hadn't yet thought of the idea that Thor might finally get back to earth under his own power (so to speak), rather than the people Earth-side figuring out how to get him back. And I've been wondering if the movieverse is going to allow Mjolnir to have that power, or whether they think it's too plot-convenient.

But, if Odin (and Thor) finally receive evidence that Loki is still alive and causing havoc on Earth... that could certainly be enough to get Odin to relent (if he's been obstructionist up to that point) and show Thor the means to dimension-jump. Even if Odin is otherwise reluctant to let Thor "interfere" on Midgard, he might see Loki as a problem they unleashed... or Thor could argue for that viewpoint.

Man. Now I'm imagining the look on Thor's face if Odin reveals that he had the means to return to Earth all along...

Just click your heels together three times and say "There's no place like Midgard..."

....THAT is just a nasty visual...Thor in Ruby boots.

I don't think they'll bother to show Odin objecting to Thor coming back to earth. It would just suck up valuable time to have to explain it, especially as we saw no objection to Earth by Odin in the Thor movie . I doubt whether Odin will even be in the Avengers. I still think Loki will bring Thor down and drop him into the middle of something huge.

i think a trailer for Thor in Avengers should have "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC played in the background

I know a lot of fans are super keen to see Cap and Hulk get acknowledged for their skills/strength etc, but I also really want all of the Avengers at some point to watch Thor slam his hammer down and go WTFWhoaOMGHe IsAGOD!!

Yeah that's true, They could just have Thor pop through a dimensional porthole as well via Mjolnir.

i said this in another thread before, i thought thor was given mjolnir but probably not told about everything it can do. he was pretty reckless back then. he would have just went wherever he wanted whenever as well if he knew mjolnir could make portals. now that he is more humble and mature odin might let him in on the interdemensional portals thing. in the movie odin said himself mjonir is "a weapon to destroy or a tool to build". well we saw alot of its destructive capabilities. now in avengers we might see its building ones, like the interdimensional portals.

The "tool to build" line made me think, on first viewing, that something was going to be said at the very end of the movie about Mjolnir being able to help reconstruct the Bifrost; and I was a little surprised when that wasn't picked up. So yeah, I wonder if we'll get something about that in The Avengers.

Good idea Sgaana! You're right That COULD be the link for Bifrost.
heh I caught that in the movie but was still disappointed that what is in my Signature didn't make it into the film. :(

It depends on how sympathetic this Odin is about why Thor wants to get back. I think this movie presented the best Marvel Odin we have ever had.

heh I hope they stay away from the most recent Odin lol he and Thor are alittle more "jerks" than they normally are.

I wouldn't mind if that happened.:woot:

Is Thor able to wield Mjolnir when he isn't all caped up in his costume? Can he use it when he is wearing jeans and a t-shirt? Have they shown that in the comics?

Curious to know if he'll be in costume for the whole movie.

His costume has nothing to do with his ability to lift Mjolnir.
He can lift it because he's worthy.
