I like Bryce Dallas Howard, but I don't really want my Fantastic Four to be her guinea pig.Once again I'm asking studios to give a big film to Bryce Dallas Howard.
Jon Favreau would probably be best, but if not him Peyton Reed sounds cool.

I feel like Josh Trank would do a good job with a Cronenbergian Fantastic Four

What about Hulk? The capacity for body horror is a bit limited to it being mainly just green and pustuled, but still.the only Marvel character that should have a Cronenbergian adaptation is Swamp Thing. Body horror is such a niche genre and unsettling.
Go read (or even just google) the immortal hulk and that will prove exactly how much body horror you can get out of hulk. What about Hulk? The capacity for body horror is a bit limited to it being mainly just green and pustuled, but still.![]()
Gwen Stacy variant cameo? What if they gave it to Bryce Dallas Howard?
I have nothing against BDH, but why are so many people high on her directing the FF? As far as I know, she's had very limited directing experience, and is mainly known for directing a few episodes of The Mandalorian. What am I missing here?Since the rumor popped up, BDH is at the top of my list.

Good pointsOne of the most important things for me regarding bringing the FF comic books to life is creating the kind of epic otherworldly environments that Kirby created purely out of his imagination. That visual landscape set the FF apart in it’s day, and I’d like the film to similarly set the film apart with its visuals.
BDH worked with the technology on Mandalorian that allowed them to create real-time otherworldly environments on soundstages so that environments that existed only in the filmmaker’s imagination could be made to feel real to the actors and audience.
But in addition to having experience with that technology, she also showed herself capable in creating action scenes while also pulling off the smaller moments and emotions.
It’s tough to find directors who can handle all those elements and put them together in a balanced way, and BDH has shown she can do it.
If Ridley Scott is available in his prime, okay, I’m interested, but since that isn’t happening, I’m intrigued with BDH as a real possibility and someone who has the experience and ability I think we need.
Yesterday I was listening to a podcast that said Watts was never going to direct FF but because he was directing Spider-Man at the same time they asked him to just say he was to throw people off the scent.
