It's up! Yay!

Edit:

Looks like the $124 Mil projection is for the 4-day weekend :(

X-Men: Apocalypse May 27, 2016 Fox $124,000,000* $260,000,000

An improvement on DOFP's opening weekend (and total gross)sounds good to me.
However, it opens earlier in the UK. We get it on May 19 not May 27. Most places get it before the USA and Canada, with Japan having it last.

With the European Championships starting soon (June 10) it's good that they are getting X-Men out as soon as possible before attention shifts to that....in most countries....:(
Launching a week earlier than Alice (which is same-day with the US) in 41+ markets including most major ones should help; also it has the same 3 week gap from CW internationally since that is also opening earlier abroad. Is it just me that thinks it odd that Japan has to wait until August for XMA?
Japan often gets releases after other markets but that's pretty late in this day and age.
I've read somewhere that it gets an IMAX release in some international markets.

I am lucky enough to be in of those markets!:yay:

Recently got it confirmed via e-mail from cinema chain PATHÉ. Though they did note that the status of the IMAX release is "onder voorbehoud" or subject to change.

Opening weekend of this movie is $500 million

I think RLAAMJR does it for giggles tbh.

No that's how he is, He's being doing it since I met him on CBR years ago. Some people live in that everyday then they start believing it and can't escape it

I just want this movie to be very successful.

Anyway, X-men Apocalypse should have higher sales than BvS. :)

Fox is crazy!

Speaking of the 2nd weekend drop of BvS... Its very possible that XA comes from the 1st spot in the weekend its released to 3rd spot in the second weekend. It will be a bigger drop.

Alice will get the 1st or 2nd place, depending of what TMNT will earn(the 1st droped only 45%). The first Alice arrived with 116 and 2nd weekend 62M. I think it wll get less this year.

TMNT arrived with 65 the first time and it will be similar i think.

XA will drop more than 62% the 2nd weekend, its normal. So in the 30s.

I predict:

1st weekend:(3days)

1. XA 110
2. Alice 75
...

2nd weekend:

1.TMNT 62
2.Alice 41
3.XA 38

BVS had no competition in the opening and 2nd weekend

Civil War will have no conpetition in the opening and 2nd weekend

XA will have competion during and after...

Its unfair :)

There is no way Alice is going to have that kind of drop.

yeah, you´re right. could go to the 33 even with 45% drop like the movie before. XA drops to number 2.

If X-Men has good wom and reviews it won't have much to worry about. It's gonna do solid numbers.

The past year has really showed how much negative wom and critical failure can hurt Superhero films. Doesn't matter on the brand or character.

It will do solid first week numbers I'm sure, but fall shy of Civil War and Batman v Superman. It will all be about the drop in the second week. There's just a lot of competition out there this summer.

Yeah, that BvS drop has nothing to do with Apocalypse or the genre. That drop wouldn’t have happened if it wasn't for terrible reviews and abysmal word of mouth. If Apocalypse keeps up with Singer's X-Men track record it might do quite well, not Civil War well for obvious reasons, but still.

Boxoffice.com projects TMNT to open to "only" $55M the following weekend after Apocalypse opens. And a domestic total of $150M.

The 2014 film opened to $65M.

"- The performance of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was especially impressive given that the film opened just one week after Disney's Guardians of the Galaxy. With that in mind, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows should be able to co-exist with Fox's X-Men: Apocalypse, especially since Out of the Shadows should skew more towards younger moviegoers than Apocalypse."

$43Mil/$140Mil according to boxoffice.com

Wonder if the several religious boycotts will affect the box office? There definitely haven't been so many for the previous movies.

I suspect most of them were never going to watch the movie to begin with.

I doubt there will be publicized religious boycotts for this film.

If anything it would only help it. No such thing as bad publicity, its more of a badge of honor these days to be vilified.

Hmmm, it depends on what bad publicity you are referring to.... if the critics hammered this film, thats automatically bad publicity - I don't think that would help the film at the box-office.
