I don't visit the MCU boards but i imagine they are far worse then here.

????
Why would they be?

LOL
13 fresh movies, 2 movies an year (soon to be 3 movies an year), which means a way bigger chance of the franchise having a fail, and yet, that hasn't happened.
Over 10 million at the boxoffice.
Why would they be worse?

P.S: You know what, yeah, I agree. The Captain America 3 board is bad. Really bad. I mean, can you imagine there is a thread where the so-called "fans of the movie" are talking about the movie flaws. And there are really some nasty stuff on there. How they dare not worship the epicness of Captain America 3!! :cmad:

good god this board sucks it is almost as bad as BVS board and filled with give it back to marvel posters
shaking_head_breaking_bad.gif

This board is many things but it is nowhere near as depressed as BVS.

It's funny: I only hear users complain about how much a board "sucks" when they are in the vocal minority (and yet I wouldn't even go so far to say that the majority of posters here want the X-Men to go back to Marvel: they want this franchise fixed and improved and are simply entertaining what the options are to make that happen).

^your constant give it back to marvel like spiderman is constantly annoying

1 rotten rated film in 7 years and the sky is falling lol

Because even people who have everything still want more then they have and want it better.

there are actually people who believe FOX would hand it back to marvel, its pretty funny.

You know why i have learned to use ignore list.

there are people who like Apocalypse.it's now projected to hit 80 million for 4 day weekend and 170 million domestic.like first class and the wolverine it
will be helped by overseas box office which helped get us DOFP and next year wolverine solo film.

Rather or not Bryan Singer is gone there isn't going to be another X-men film for 4 years with 5 different spin-offs In the works.I am sure the next film
will have colorful outfits for more than the end.

They are bound to respond somehow to Apocalypse under-performing.we
will have to see what it is.

Even funnier how defensive some get on here when the idea of Marvel actually getting THEIR characters back is discussed.

Yeah. I remember I read on here something like: "X-Men are more loved than the marvel characters" ... and ??
X-men is one thing; marvel characters is a different thing, huh?
LOL

The people on here themselves don't consider X-Men as Marvel characters, and yet, most of them are dissapointed with no animated stuff or merchandise, or video games, etc. .

I love the Singer films and the X-Men in general myself, but it's not 1992 anymore. It's sad how ******** some are on here about Marvel's success. Excuses, excuses.

Regardless, I don't want MCU or Disney touching the X-Men. I love the Fox movies more even with the few bombs Origins and Last Stand.

And i think Apocalypse is the best comic book movie of the year. So not everybody agrees that someone needs to be fired or it needs to be sold to disney.

We are in agreement.apocalypse is my favorate comic book film of year.i gave civil war postive review in civil war what you think thread so unlike some i can if i chooce to see it give MCU a postive reaction if i like it.and honestly when i watch their films i haven't disliked them since I hated Iron Man 3 and Thor 2.when i listened to those i respect and saw GOTG and Ant-man I liked GOTG and kind of liked ant-man.But,i will always like X-men more than avengers.always have.I don't want MCU or Disney touching X-men.primarly it's for the tone. The darkness, seriounes, and allegory fox has given for X-men would be gone from Disney.Plus i don't want them forcing roles for stark like they did as now mentor for spider-man for X-men.

The tone Is big reason why I don't want Joss Whedon on X-men and if Singer
isn't involved i wouldn't want Vaughn back.

Box office only matters so we can get more films.beyond that it's just bragging rights. If i like film as i do with apocalypse it doesn't matter that deadpool, civil war,and even BVS made more money.BVS sure isn't better film than Apocalypse.

their characters? lol Wasn't Marvel bought by Disney?...shouldn't "their" characters belong to Disney now...?!

fictional characters don't belong to a company. They belong to a readership...

I am tremendously annoyed by these claims that X-Men should go back to "Marvel"...why? Most X-Men comic fans do not give a crap about the Avengers. The X-Men are fine where they are at the moment.

I think it's kind of interesting that through the "Fox has this, Sony has that Disney has this" they are still all Marvel Characters and Marvel Movies biggest competition among fans are other Marvel movies.

In the same article Disney sure were not shying away from their disappointment in alice 2 ;p

In short terms disney said Well that sucks but s*** happens i guess ;p

The difference being Disney is abandoning the Alice franchise. There's no reason for them to sugarcoat the results.

Ok 2 things:

1.) I give zero f***s if you find my posts annoying.

2.) I've been here for awhile--and have gone through every cycle of these films on this board for 12 years. Those who know me know that I want the absolute best for these characters (as do most of the fans here). And I've been consistent with vocalizing that desire.

Now...if you're content with what we're getting, well then good for you. I wish I felt like you. I don't. And I'm entitled to think differently and express it as such. Got a problem with that? Well then, you have options: you can either get acquainted with your "Ignore" button or you can sit back, accept the reality that not everyone thinks the same way you do, and contribute to the debate at hand.

Quite the romantic notion, as a writer myself I appreciate that sentiment, but NO, the readership didn't create the character, nor do they make any money off the IP. It's Marvel's characters, err Disney's. You really got me there (lol).

Glad you can speak for the "fans"

Is that so?

Is there polling data somewhere or some survey taken of "most" X-Men fans to support your statement? Cuz that's news to me.

What the hell is going on in this thread.

Nope. This board has its own brand of insanity, separate but just as crazy, as the batboards or spiderboards. I mean, we can barely go a week without devolving into a continuity/cast/studio war. Yes, there are some meltdowns happening. But, it truly isn't that much different from their normal behavior.

So welcome to the X boards. Hope you survive the experience.

On topic, I do think the movie has a chance to have slightly better legs than the average X film. Opening lower and the sheer collapse that is incoming for Alice will help a lot.

Box office only matters so we can get more films.

And THAT is the crux of the very matter.

If the X-Men films continue to falter (it is clear now that the audiences still haven't exactly warmed up to the First Class cast), FOX may think twice about giving these films the big budgets, acting and directorial talent, etc., they need and deserve. Studios stop throwing money at projects that don't perform.

That is why it is essential to give fans and audiences what they want. I don't care if X-Men stays at FOX or if they partner with Marvel--it's not about the studio. It's about the treatment of the property itself. The audiences are burned out on this franchise for a reason(s). And that is directly translating to sales (or lack thereof).

Given that X-men are team books/films I'd expect there to be a slightly higher likelihood of their fans being open to other team books. After X-Men, Avengers and JL are my favourite family of comics and I imagine a fair proportion of those who watch X-films also watch Avengers films.

What the hell is going on in this thread.

The same ol', same ol'. :funny:

There are fans who are offering constructive criticism on why the box office sales are underperforming and you have fans who think things are fine. Happens after every damn movie that comes out now since 2000.

I couldn't agree with you more. I love the Avengers and JL. I rejoice for the success of what Marvel has accomplished. But as a gay man I identify most strongly with the outcast premise of the X-Men. So to see this once top-tier comic and movie franchise faltering makes me mad.

And don't even get me started on the box office failings of Fantastic Four--which is also trapped at FOX. So much great potential team dynamic has been wasted with these properties at that studio. They truly don't know what they have.
