Apocalypse X-Men: Apocalypse Box Office Prediction Thread - Part 6

Most likely it will get to 520 by next weekend and it still has yet to premiere in Japan. X:A can get to anywhere from 535 to 550 mill WW if Fox is lucky.

Disappointing numbers. But then not long ago this franchise could not even get close to 500 mill WW, having 3 films in a row reaching that mark is a good thing I guess for a 17 year old franchise.

I'd be happy if the young X-Men + New Members could have a film that didn't acknowledge Singer's film in any way shape or form except the following joke..

on The Blackbird (F a X-Jet) and like a rebooted Rogue Or Iceman asked "You guys really go outside in these things?" And Cyclops would respond "What you prefer? Black leather?" As a giant **** you to Singer

I hated how Singer mocked and alienated fans wanting to see the X-Men in their comic book uniforms with that one line. Two years later Spider Man proved him wrong and another ten years The Avengers proved his theory wrong again of how comic inspired uniforms wouldn't work in the "real world", I mean c'mon it's a comic book movie! Deadpool's box office success and spot on characterization was a big middle finger to Singer.

That's not true only a few are the great the rest are rather bad. Of course you won't like the new cast because they are replacing your beloved cast in which most of them have done better with the little they had.

That's the thing their reception(the new cast) wasn't slammed nor hated it was other reason other than the newbies that made the movie not as good as it could've been. They did well with what they had they can't make the director change things and give them more at least not yet. I'm certain they will get another film as well.
That's not true, the new Cast it's so bland.
The original Cast It's full of stars with oscars, they are like family , work great together on screen.
The new teen Cast It 's like watching high school musical, except Rose,Evan,Fass & McAcoy.

Yeah Famke Jansen passive aggressively talking **** about Halle 3 years ago and the producers this year and everyone demanding top salaries really indicate their love for the franchise and each other.:oldrazz:

International market wasn't as strong during the last decade compare to this day and China box-office numbers/3D/IMAX are big factors.

Same thing could be said to your fascination with the source material. Not that there is anything wrong with your nostalgia over the comics...

Anyway no need to be obnoxious just because you don't like a certain thing. And oh yeah I saw that "bleep you Bryan singer" post. Classy.

Leo is kind of hypocritical but yeah...

At the end of the day every avenue has its positives and negatives. No course of action is right or wrong at this point.

True, but the strong international market and China did not seem to help films like Alice 2, Huntsman 2, Tmnt 2, Good Dinosaur etc.

Agreed. As much as I enjoyed Apocalypse I do think a fresh approach would be beneficial. I don't think Singer's contribution should be dismissed though, he succeeded at bringing an emotional depth to his X-Men movies - something the Avengers movies and most of the individual Marvel movies sorely lack.

I disagree that the Marvel movies lack emotional depth, and this is coming from someone who was more of an X-men fan and still enjoy the rich and diverse stable of comic book characters.

Although I believe that both studios are on par when it comes to emotional depth, it's simply that I find that Marvel for the most part treats its characters with more reverence and consistency than Fox does. Whereas the latter can 'take me out' of the film by having to question why certain characters aren't just getting the same level of respect as those who tend to get a lot of focus. It doesn't matter the tone or subject matter, as long as you nail integration, execution and followup of character, I think audiences will pick up on that.

So that is the arguably big difference for me.

IMO, of course.

By the way, I enjoyed Apocalypse and was entertained enough - better than BvS but not as good as Civil War - but I can see why it's merited a lot of these criticisms.

I like what I've seen of Shipp, certainly more than Halle Berry's take on the character. As the for the rest, none are a marked improvement over the original incarnations.

I believe TMNT 2 has not opened in China yet. First film did well there and this one was co-financed by a China production so time will tell.

Obviously not every film will do good in China and other markets. Doesn't change the fact that if the international box office was this big a decade ago along with 3D and IMAX then X3 and X2 would have likely pulled in higher worldwide numbers then DOFP fairly easily.

This is a picture from the only X-Men movie worst than Apocalypse

You remind me MakeMinesMarvel and he was banning because he overacted everytime and become troll.
PS: if i am not wrong, you saw Apocalypse in theatre, at same time, you post in 30 messages here and said it was awesome. You made a live reaction about every scene of the movie, no ?

It is like, 180 degree :ninja:

I like the new young cast members, and it is worth noting that they were not given much good material. Sophie Turner has improved over Game of Thrones, and I think that might be able to grow and rise to the occasion with better material. Tye Sheridan is a promising young actor. His work in 'Mud' was really good and Steven Spielberg hand picked him out of many auditions for a sought-after role. It seems like a strong script and good direction could help them deliver.

To bad these stars with oscars did nothing for the roles they were placed in, have a seat. These a fresh up comers right now you just sound bitter and you need to go in a corner and let it go because there won't be another ensemble film featuring them and you will have to deal. Maybe you should blame the director because he maybe wanted it to come across that way, besides they had to little to do for you to say anything of that so as usual continue reaching. Also no they don't all work together onscreen it was still a lot missing my fav from the OT was Mystique and Xavier I love how they were portrayed.

Thought I was seeing things as well, wasn't sure if he/she was the same Leo.

I agree about Shipp, I also like how Sheridan did Cyclops as well as Kodi did very great and was a comic relief. I will say Jean are neck and neck on both takes. Though I'm sure with another movie featuring this cast will really make them be able to adapt these characters that much more. I'm excited with what they bring to the table by the next film.

I'm torn. I do kind of want a fresh approach set in modern day. At the same time, I loved Apocalypse and loved this new younger X-Men cast and would like to see at least one film centered around them.
