So you've never watched it but you're judging it? Shame, since it's not only a terrific series, but Singer and Kinberg obviously borrowed pretty heavily from it.


I'll always consider it the best X-Men animated series, unless one comes along to be better.

I don't know about that, there is very little about it that says they borrowed from it beyond the back and forth future and past idea

Too bad. I thought WATXM was a good show

Part of the issue for me was...outside of Emma...the women were designed horribly...the giant fur ball Storm had for hair...to me some of the design choices took me out of the show...

While I understand why some might skip wolverine and the X-Men due to title alone they really should try it out.

Film version of DOFP is more combination of comics version and new ideas but idea of bunch of new mutants not just characters from exsisting films seems influnced by show and 2 characters from show's future Bishop and Sunspot showed up in film.Bishop In film of DOFP Is closer to WATX than the 1990's version.Toad In DOFP Is somewhat similar to WATX version.

The ending of DOFP where future with sentinles was clearly averted may have been influenced by WATX.Plus it like films has preventing the future with sentinles leading to age of Apocalypse.

My ranking:

1. X-Men: TAS
2. X-Men: Evolution (close second)
3. WATXM

X-Men: Evolution had the best animation, but I would have loved to see Mister Sinister and Jean become Phoenix/Dark Phoenix at some point. I liked the inclusion of Genosha in WATXM, but I didn't think the Days of Future Past arc needed to go on for the whole series, and I wasn't a fan of certain character incarnations/inclusions.

Came out a couple years ago...haven't seen it myself. I think all the Marvel Anime's played in a block on G4...the only one I saw bits and pieces of was Blade.

I feel like there's so much nostalgia involved in the TAS love. It really wasn't a very good show. Bad animation (by 90's standards) over dramatic voice acting, and dialog that made little to no sense.

I'm grateful to the show for introducing me to the X-Men, but re-watching it is such a chore.

Exactly. So that was from the comic, not WATXM.

WATXM DoFP gave us a bleak future where Sentinels can be kept as pets and John Connor Wolverine.

the 90s cartoon has its dated material and restrictions (1992 onwards) but its still my favorite X-Men cartoon

X-Men evolution i always felt was one of them cartoons that was different for the sake of being different and at the start it was the adventures of mutants in high school which didn't really appeal to me and even though i hear it developed into something more 1 or 2 seasons later i had lost interest by then

with wolverine and the X-men it was enjoyable even though wolverine was the leader and that just felt wrong and forced, even more so when wolverine goes out for his own adventures then comes back to be the leader again

I live for the highlight moments. Too many too count.

And yes not paying attention to WATXM because the name is very valid. Wolverine over saturation is whats hurt Marvel so much and to top it off the guy is an Avenger now. I just can't support that. Especially when the X-men are a team. That's what draws me to them. The team dynamic. Naming WATXM is like an NFL team Officially putting Tom Brady on the team helmet followed by the team. It's a friggin insult.

They are a team in WATXM. His name may be in the title, but I find it to easily be the most well balanced X-Men series to date.

I don't blame you for not watching WARXm because of title.I didn't wacth wolverine or X-Men anime.I tried watching X-Men anime but the designs were so eadical I quit couple of minutes Into it.

Using wolverine heavily isn't something that was started by fox and Bryan Singer.Marvel In Comics Is guilty of that.And if you don't like WATXM Marvel and lions Gate produced it not fox.

WATXM felt more what i felt about comics than other shows of X-Men.Lineup actully changed.Which is hallmark of comics.Despite title there Is team.In particular there is good
use of nightcrawler and Shadowcat,any show which uses shadowcat is a plus in my book,and they showed you can use rogue without Ms marvel powers.

Lol I imagined you making the face in your avatar when you made that statement, lol. Also though TAS is dated it is by far the best out of all of them IMO,they mixed up some characters due to the core team but it was an amazing show and Storms voice was epic! For 2nd id ties XEvo and WATXM, the anime was absolutely dreadful.
