The Wolverine wasn't.

First Class sequels have to stay in the past in order to follow their cast. Again, Deadpool exists in the 80s and way later like Logan so there's no reason at all for the whole Deadpool movie to take place in the past in order to connect with Apocalypse.

Deadpool shouldn't even be a main player there.

both Deadpool and Xforce fit our modern time much better, for many reasons.

So I doubt Fox will put all the x-men characters on the past now. same with f4. They need present time movies now, so they will do it with more than one proyect

There are still plenty of movies to be released so this isnt true, If they decide to do Xforce,X Factor or anything else there isnt anything set in stone that it has to be in the past.

People are seriously fooling themselves if they Think Apocalypse will be last X-men film and then Fox will focus on characters unknown to GA Instead of recasting.

For FC trilogy ignoring he emma Frost and Moira mactagget issues they
already recast Xavier,Magneto,Mystique,Beast,Toad,William Stryker,and soon will continue with Cyclops,Jean Grey,Storm,and Possibly Nightcrawler.

They will recast Gambit for eather apocalypse or solo film.

The entire purpose of time travel "Reboot" In DOFP was to continue making
X-Men films.

Fox will try to keep Hugh jackman as wolverine as long as possible but the idea he could never be replaced or fox would just dump the most popular X-Men character Is crazy.

I firmly expect Deadpool to take place In early 1980's so it can tie In with Apocalypse and possibly new wolverine solo film.Fox,Sony,and WB all want to follow the shared universe road that MS Is doing.

I think that is just wishful thinking my friend. I agree with Guest that the FC crew will go on a film by film basis after Apocalypse. Maybe they come back, maybe they won't. But in a market where X-Men is getting outgrossed by third tier properties like GotG domestically, there is clearly a financial plateau that this franchise has hit in the US. They can't continue to up the ante. And nobody wants to see a watered down, low budget X-Men film, as we saw from that picture posted previously in the discussion (or FF boards). Until the franchise proves characters besides Xavier/Magneto/Wolverine can carry the franchise, they are going to scale things down and take a break. Frankly, the stories are running thin with Wolverine and we will have gotten the Magneto/Xavier dichotomy for six films now following Apocalypse.

So I see them taking a break and finding a new face to the franchise before they bring back the X-Men roster because X-Men can't be a one trick pony if it wants to survive. I see that character being Deadpool and/or Cable, and possibly Gambit although I hope not. If Apocalypse goes on to gross a billion, obviously they will look for more with the FC crew, but I don't think that is in the cards.

Correct. I could see Apocalypse temporarily held off in 1983. Then we witness the ending in DoFP. Then all hell breaks loose in the future and you need bigger and badder ass mutants to take him on. Enter Renolds, Omar Sy, and whomever plays Cable in the 2030/2040 time frame along with the possibility of OT cast members, or recasted X-Men at the very least. Could make for a hell of a show.

They'll move forward with the past cast including whoever they cast for Cyclops, Jean, Storm, and Nightcrawler. Kinberg has indicated that's the direction they're interested in going with the franchise.

Someone already mentioned the Wolverine but also, half of DOFP took place in the future (you know, that dark-apocalyptic looking future where all the mutants are being hunted and killed by sentinels).

The new faces to the franchise will appear in Apocalypse. They'll be finding/casting them in the coming months. They're going to be Cyclops, Jean, & Storm. No need for a "break". Unless they are absolutely terrible. Kinberg pretty much said this was the plan. Going with that "traditional team".

Apocalypse part 2? Talk about wishful thinking. I highly doubt we'll be getting a repeat any time soon with Apocalypse. "recasted X-Men" We're getting that in Apocalypse.

I could see Deadpool popping up in this movie. We already know that he's around/active during the 80's.

Deadpool as Death and Wolverine as War would be my ideal Horsemen. The weapon X program would be the ultimate cover for Apocaplyse to do his recruiting.

Two people with stabbing weapons and healing factors wouldn't be the best call imo. They need to switch it up and give them some grander an more versatile powers for each of the Horsemen.

Guess they would be good opponents for Nightcrawler with his swords and Gambit with his bo though. Believe it was mentioned that the horsemen are ones that have had the role before, so that crosses off Deadpool.

I could see Nightcrawler wielding swords for a circus act, but when it comes to a weapon of choice, I don't think it really suits him (although I know they use it in the comics). They should leave swords for characters that are better known for using them, like Psylocke and Deadpool.

I see no issue there if it's needed. Dudes a skilled fencer. Always depends on who he is paired up against.

If you have him fighting Deadpool or Wolverine I'd rather he have them.

I am not sure if they ever did it in the comics too but X-men Tas Apocaplyse and Mystique recruited horsemen with the Genosha scam. I was hoping they'd go a similar route with this but instead of Genosha use the Weapon x program. You could kill three birds with one stone using it like that. There a couple mutants whose mutant power has been enhanced by adamantium such as Archangel, Wolverine and Deadpool. They all could be horsemen or you can get Wade to handle Wolvy. Which would be a complete reversal of that awful origins movie.
