Kind of unfortunate it was dismissed without prejudice, but ya can't win them all, I guess.

I heard that just now.Where are all those who assumed he was guilty now?
It was a civil suit, there was no "guilty" or "not guilty" involved at all.

Considering everything that we had seen in original future from "DOFP", where the Sentinels was in charge of the world, do you guys still think that they can make Apocalypse look more threatening than that?

Especially if they can't kill off Professor X, Storm, Scott, and Jean? (I'm assuming that they can't given on how they were alive and well in the new future, a new future where they had already defeated Apocalypse in their new past)

I did consider all of your points when I first thought about it too, in regards to the making Apoc more dangerous, It could be that they push onto things like slavery and apoc making humans and mutants that he doesnt seem worthy as slaves. It would raise the question, would you rather be wiped off the face of the earth or live your life as a slave. It would also tie into ancient Egypt.

In regards to killing people off there are Magneto and Mystique. People have emotional investment in them, Xavier has investment in both and if either die it really does open the questions such as "How does Rogue get the streak?". I mean there are bound to be people who then say "So that is a continuity error" but the whole thing would mean that they can redo stories just like comics do haha.

I think religion may be a big thing in Apoc even just based on what has been said and the end credits scene showing the fanatics.
Plus if Apoc has been asleep/in hiding/dormant for how ever many hundred years, he is likely going to want to have his status as the messiah to the masses back.

Absolutely but I don't think that will happen in Apocalypse's first movie (well if they have planned to use him more than once) since it would be hard for them to top every movie that Apocalypse is in, like destruction-wise.

I feel to date that the stakes in the X-men universe has never reached the levels Apocalpyse can raise them to. He can be a global threat unlike anything ever seen. He is maniac that wants the world to burn to start a new. That kind of villain is rarely seen.

I don't know. It looked pretty grim in the original future, especially with the way that humans and mutants were being rounded up or hunted down.

I think Apoc has got to be a different kind of threat - the Sentinels were all about rounding people up and destroying stuff, Apoc needs to be a singular powerhouse, someone who instils fear by his very being

Well, remember in Age of Apocalypse, there was plenty more mutant vs mutant and double crosses, and was less of a crumbling dystopia, and more of a tyrant run nightmare.

IMO the audience will see the higher stakes and intensified threat of Apocalypse and they'll realize he is worse than the Sentinels. Unlike DOFP sentinels, Apocalypse is gonna want ALL humans and "unworthy" mutants destroyed. Plus I think there's something in actually witnessing war/destruction/disaster as opposed to just the aftermath. Seeing the ***** hit the fan, even if its the beginning stages, will go a long way in making Apocalypse the most threatening figure of this film franchise.

This is why I think something along the slavery and religion lines would be great. It would allow for some really deep stuff in the film and give Apocalypse straight up BAD GUY attitude. People still have some doubt over if magneto is a through and through villain because he was a victim of horrific crimes against humanity. Apocalypse doesnt have that to fall back on, so he is just plain bad. That needs to be seen. He may think that he is justified in his actions, but the GA should not feel that way at all.

Well one thing is for sure, it's definitely going to be refreshing seeing another mutant be portrayed as the main antagonist/villain of a X-Men film as opposed to it being Magneto.

It's one of the reasons why I love "First Class" so much, because it was a breath of fresh air to see another mutant be the the main villain.

I actually want to see Apocalypse really do a number on all of the major players that'll be in this film.

I do hope that they'll have a reason as to why he only awakes now in this timeline and why he supposedly (as far as we know) didn't wake up at all in the original timeline.

It was a grim future, but the difference is power was given to the machines and not taken by them. They gave their power away to get rid of the mutant problem. It reminds me of a line Padme said about liberty being taken away to a chorus of applause. While Apocaplyse will essentially be equavilent to the alien invaders from Indepence Day. Demolishing cities and killing every thing in sight.

Yeah I gotta agree that though the Sentinels were uber powerful and basically destroyed the future, their power was basically given. They weren't sinister thinking like the matrix robots. They were just doing what they were designed to do.

Plus we didn't witness the destruction of that timeline's world. (that would be a great animated series kinda like the animatrix i think)

Anyway, Apocalypse has the ability to show up on the scene, raise Genosha to power and attempt on the burning down of the world by his army led by the four horse man. They should even have him showing power displays of the ability to decimate a city but just choosing not to because he'd rather his army wipe out the civilians by the sword, individually if possible.

In the comics, he woke up when Cable traveled back in time, I don't remember how exactly he sensed it, but it made him decide the world was ready for further examination and testing. They can use the same principle here, Apocalypse wakes up due to Wolverine's time travel in DofP.

I would like to see something akin to X-Men Evo where its a global threat and the X-Men are really pushed to get to each place, possibly splitting up and having to fight each horseman.

Eh, no. Genosha is someone else's business... :ninja:

Buzzfeed has revealed that Bryan Singer is under investigation in New York for criminal sexual assault. He allegedly sexually assaulted a man in his 20's last year but no charges have been filed and it's important to remember that Buzzfeed is not a legitimate news operation. We'll see what happens.

That's more of a tabloid report and after the now dismissed lawsuits that was
bound to happen. If he's arrested then take it seriously.

It would destory the sterotype he is only intrested In under age guys.

I think that would be the least of his problems.

I don't see Fox hiring Singer to direct Apocalypse while he's under a criminal investigation.

1:He may already have contract to do apocalypse
2:This may be nothing but tabloid report.

The report quoted a high ranking NYPD official. Fox will buy out his contract and pay him to go away, there's no way they'll hire him with a criminal investigation hanging over his head.
