Yes, storm is finally getting development in apocalypse and with new mutants they can extend her development. It makes sense. I wonder how many years later new mutants is set from apocalypse.

I went to my local Barnes & Noble to get the Empire issue...they had the April issue on the stands (Civil War) with no May covers in sight.

It's like we're a month behind here in America with the Empire magazine. I'm sure we'll get the X-Men covers towards the end of April.

Clearly, New Mutants is NOT set in the present timeline since the article states that Shipp and McAvoy would be appearing. That tells you right there it'll be set in the 80's with Apocalypse.

I didn't see it mention McAvoy I even said this is very possible and that I would love the idea if they decided to do this. As I said last I heard was that all spin offs were set in the present regardless of what this said that's why I was hesitant. By all means I would looooove this to be true, seeing Storm in multiple films would be awesome for me.

This is indeed great news indeed, like I'm so happy to hear this about Storm, I like that it seems that they are confident in Shipps portrayal as Storm. I'm loving the development we are getting this time around. I hope they grow her hair flowing long by then lol

I'm not 100% thrilled on what I heard in this thread about Cyclops being "alpha dog" who has to always be on top (though that interpretation is definitely there in the comics). I hope they don't just make him like FC Havok, and really get into his vulnerabilities.

I don't think they'll take her out of the mainline x films, she's too popular to not be in them.

So being in both films my gosh I wasn't expecting that. I was hoping she stays in the main team as well. XMen and New Mutants simountaneosly damn it's good to be a Storm fan.

I'd be interested to know whether they envision this as a one-film thing to try to build up the new castmembers, or whether Shipp would be an ongoing participant if it became a series. It being FOX, the answer is probably "play it by ear".

That's what I'm trying to figure out as well will this be an continuous thing or some thing, either way I'm still excited I get to see her twice. I think if the reception of Storm is good then we very well may be seeing more of her.
