I do hope so I want to see that sisterly bond starting to develop. I can't wait to hear what they are doing with the next film. I'm curious how Storms hair will be this next film.
If this new cast manage to get traction, I'd love for them to eventually be able to recruit enough top X-Men to have 2 teams so that Storm and Jean could bond as the main players on the equivalent of the 90s Gold team. Would need Colossus, Iceman and Angel to complete the team.

Also would only need Rogue and Gambit to have enough for the Blue team (already have Cyclops, Beast & Jubilee, won't take much to get Psylocke and Wolverine).

I would love to see Rogue make another appearance, I wonder whom they could get for the role. Idk how well two seperate teams would work

It wouldn't need to happen any time soon anyway. Just a dream for the future one day lol. If there are more than 6 or so members it would probably be better to split them up when going for the final threat, at least till they get there. And certainly need to see a new Rogue in this timeline. X-women are known for being strong characters and about time we saw that.

So is it true that McAvoy and Shipp are having an affair?

I doubt it. There was another article I saw that said he was having an affair with Jennifer Lawrence as well. One source mentioned that he'd gotten to be close friends with Shipp and then the rumors just spiraled from there.

Until something is "confirmed" by the actors themselves, I wouldn't buy much into it. But he is single now, and apparently, while the news of the divorce was just announced, both he and his wife have been living "single" for at least several months.

Yea I was thinking you meant having two seperate films for the different teams, though if each team had like 6 people that would just be a packed film I'm not sure it would work. I can't wait until we get a new version of Rogue though I'm hoping by the end of the next film we get her introduced all complete with her skunk hairstyle and the feisty attitude with the super strength and flight.

2 x4 would be enough, and only when we've had enough films that most of them have already been fully developed prior to trying something like that. And as with most succesful ensemble films you have main characters who get the focus and then supports who don't need as much time. CW handled 12 hero characters pretty well but we wouldn't need that many.

She's surely high on the list of characters to introduce to this setup. Anna Paquin's character contributed well to the narrative of the earlier films but now it's time for a Rogue that is closer to the comics with that same unique personality.

I agree with the idea of potentially separating the teams in a future movie. There's just no way with 13-15 characters that everyone considers "main X-Men" that they'll ever be able to service all of them in one movie.

And these characters don't lend themselves to solo movies like what the MCU has done. All of their stories are too intertwined for that.

I mean I'm all for it and it's a way to get multiple characters in different movies with the chance to flesh them out but I figured that's what's going on with XForce and New Mutants if they added another main XMen film I'm afraid it may cause XMen fatigue. If they do it I'll still enjoy each and every one and I honestly don't mind if they do. I agree with you about Rogue we need one closer to the comics with the personality we loved.

No, this 'journalism' crap has sprung from his announcement of a divorce and they've plastered pictures of him standing/working next to a co-star... As you do with a colleague. And even if they were it wouldn't be an affair as McAvoy is single.

Lol I cannot with you Ruth your comments give me life.

That is the power of Famke Janssen! She provides you (and everyone else) with LIFE. Stay blessed.

Oh yes, will have to see how these X-Force and New Mutants projects pan out too. Should give us a chance to focus on new characters and have films with a different tone while contributing to the overall X-universe. I hope this Gambit film happens and gets his character right as it could be popular with the GA and set up a possible relationship with Rogue later.

I do think XForce and New Mutants will do well I just don't see it for Gambit he had a solo run for a little while but I don't think he is strong enough to stand on his own I really think they should reconsider that.

I don't think he has the material for a solo series but who knows, he has enough character for a one off film.

Yes I just said as much in another thread:

Most of the X-Men are not designed to be solo guys. The team are more like family than their own families having grown up in the school and a fair few have single powers (before secondary mutations) that are more suited to teamwork like phasing/teleporting/optic blast/telepathy.

Blink's portals are another good example of a very team orientated power that isn't as good in a solo fight.

I really hope and am waiting for that day we get a film with all the core X-Men done justice on characterisation, looks and powers and all working together with great team moves and combos.

Yeah I'm really not seeing a Gambit solo movie either.

I never really understood the popularity of Gambit either, although I guess in the overall picture he really isn't all that well known. However, as Marvel Studios has proved, writing a good movie is all that is needed to promote and elevate even superheroes that are best described as D-List. Unfortunately, other studios aren't confident enough to take that risk with their properties it seems.

A one off film lol yea I can see that but any character can do that really because some have very rich back stories. Storm,Psylocke among a few could do that. I just would prefer them as apart of a team. I'm really missing Blinks portal though that was such a nice depiction of teamwork between the members. It's a shame XMen are known for being a family yet we have so little of teamwork between them in the movies. If they nail the characterizations with these characters and no longer keep using these characters for power displays and actually give them development instead of one and done wasting of them or killing them offscreen when so much potential is there (Banshee,Emma,Darwin) they can't keep making these same mistakes.

Famke was very nice about the e-mail... whats with the generalizations of women?

And though the Guardian interview showed some annoyance I can't blame her as it is very hard for women over 35 to get jobs in Hollywood while men can thrive after they hit middle age.

I think that's more of where her frustration stems from.

She has a right to be annoyed. Famke is the same age as RDJ, yet she has "aged out" of Jean Grey while Iron Man has at least another 3 films on the horizon.

there are a lot of characters in the old man logan storyline that fox can't touch. i would expect that some of them are replaced by mutans from the x men universe. i would expect more original cast people besides patrick stewart. i don't think famke is done playing jean.

Let's hope not. That's a great way to ruin the post-DOFP continuity for years and years to come. I'm already not so sure including Xavier is a good idea.
