I get that. I was referring to randomly reading the comics just to find the suits you're talking about.

Come on, anyone who’s read the comics would know that the costumes that psy posted were from Joe Madureira’s (MAD!) run in the mid 300’s.

And let's not forget that these were the same people whining that the franchise needed to move away from the way Singer was doing things. Now it's a problem.

How hard is it to figure out that some people like certain things from Singer’s run but not other aspects? And that those criticizing Singer, Kinberg, the films don’t all agree on everything. We’re not some monolithic group. Stop generalizing everything.

At least Marvel Studios has a chance to use the original 60s run costumes or the Jim Lee costumes now. Glad the costumes in this movie aren't those.

My first thought upon seeing the costumes was:
“Oh gawd it’s from that horrible Grant Morrison/Frank Quitely run!” :(

My second thought was:
“Well at least they’re from the comics.” :)

My third thought was:
“Yay Jim Lee costumes for the Marvel Studios films!” ;) (we’ll see)

Then I saw her forehead at the right side, then the whole pic.

Anyway, do you guy really think we won't see the Jim Lee costumes if Fox use them in DP? If so, I've changed my mind completely. Please, let those Quitely inspired costumes to be the final ones. Plz.

Not everyone reads the same comics. I somehow own that guy's infamous Ultimates issues tho.

I was being facetious lol. Sorry if that didn’t come across.

Why was it infamous?

Ugh. :(

I already knew she was gonna be an X-man on this, so I didn’t even really notice she was missing from the initial pic.

I look at it this way: to most people Andrew Garfield’s Spidey costume in Amazing 2 was perfection. Was barely a thing you can improve upon it. So when Marvel got the rights, they ended up doing some random stuff to the costume to...differentiate it from the abomination that was ASM2 (Jamie Fox...the horror!). Homecoming costume wasn’t bad, it just has some weird design choices on it.

So if this film were to perfect Scott’s costume for instance (a Longshot :cwink: I know), MCU would be less inclined to use that costume. And I’m with you, I might not have the utmost faith in Kinberg, but as I’ve said before, the easiest way for him to endear himself to the fans is to copy things straight from the comics. That’s why I fully believe fans will love/pleasantly surprised at a first look/teaser for this movie. It’s gonna be seeing those random trailer footage in the actual film where Kinberg might...struggle.

you know what Kinberg isnt moving away from Singer?
The Charles-Magneto-Mystique soap opera, the biggest fatigue to 75% of the fanbase/critics.

But hey, new costumes! :djs:

I was second guessing if you were joking or not. lol
Ultron creepily pining over Scarlet Witch, incest with you know who, and some other stuff

Also...I don't know if you guys noticed, but most of the MCU costume adaptations have leaned toward Ultimate or the closest modern grounded equivalent outside of a few characters. Just as an aside.

Lauren that has clearly being sidelined or moved to tv (wonder by who....).

Producers will always try to sell their movies, but what was the first thing Fox announce regarding this movie? the return of Fassbender and Lawrence. So much for "moving on to other stuff"

But I thought the twincest was already established before this new volume? Do they actually...do it in this issue? Lol

But considering the Ultimate X-men costumes were already based on Singer’s X-men films, it wouldn’t make much sense for Feige to reuse those designs for their X-men.

At the very least, they won’t be black leather like Ultimate X-men (though I didn’t really mind the costumes in X-men and X2. They were ill-fitting in X3. Storm looked so bad in that movie).

Are the Ultimate books still even around?

I was happy to see a pic with five iconic X-Men together. But yeah, I know she's not only part of the team, but she's also the leader.

I get it. I mean, Scott's costumes in the end of Apocalypse was inspired in Jim Lee's... and it was awful. I'm hoping they do something very different for him this time.

But sure, keep up with the directionless whining.

Just like they promised Storm would be just as important as Eric/Charles/Raven and ended up having two lines of dialogue, no characterization and no character arc?

And most of the information released about Dark Phoenix is mostly about Charles, Erik and Raven as opposed to Storm, Scott, Kurt or Beast. Not to mention that Jubilee, Angel and possibly Psylocke aren't even in this.

It's "directionless whining" you say, right? Yeah, ok.

If they had any genuine intention of changing the focus, they'd take a break from Eric and Raven and they wouldn't even be in this.

No, they just seemed so open about it.

It's the same with New X-men as well wasn't it? They based the attire off of the first movie?
Just thinking on why 'Jim Lee'. I forget who, but someone manip'd the Apocalypse suits to resemble the ANAD colors.

Lauren is still producing the movie, so i dont know what your talking about.

I get if you're annoyed but this is a poor defense. Since when are words a guarantee of what will end up in the movie?

I remember when Singer said we would see the biggest power displays ever in X-Men: Apocalypse...

I'm happy with what they look like. :)

And...I saw the biggest power displays in X-Men Apocalypse, but DOFP kept me more emotionally invested in that grandiose tale.
The lesson Kinberg was supposed to learn, what he said he learned, from that movie was keeping it intimate. Keeping a tighter focus on the characters in the film. Rather than trying to constantly shift from one person, group of people, and money shot to the next.

Precisely because it is without cape and that I believe it is just a uniform for space travel
bryan / simon / fox never made costumes of the storm without cape..

And...I saw the biggest power displays in X-Men Apocalypse,
We saw different things then. Storm aside from riding a lightning didn't do anything very impressive, same for Jean Grey and Cyclops, unless you count the Firebird (I guess).

I remember when Kinberg said Apocalypse would be the biggest X-Men movie emotionally. lol

She rode a lightning. She went blast-blast with Cykes. She joined in on the Apocalypse pile-on.

Jean shredded Apocalypse through each organic layer of his body. She and Magneto rebuilt the X-Mansion from the ground up.

This was hands down the best optic blasts from Cyclops.
