DeWanda Wise has said she wants to play Storm in the future.

I'm here for it, I was just thinking that she would be great in the role before remembering she had a role in Captain Marvel...but now that she is no longer attached this is perf.

The X-Men animated series was definitely popular.

And I think we'll get something far closer to the spirit of the cartoons and comics once Disney get to work on the X-Men.

With Kinberg's Dark Phoenix it could go either way. He might make more effort to show he can rectify some of the mistakes of previous films. Or he might be restrained by his own likes and dislikes, and by the demands of the studio execs.

If Dark Phoenix is really good, it will be too little too late. If it's bad, it just proves our point that the X-Men are better elsewhere and the vision is now so far off track that a Disney takeover is the best option.

I agree. I just think hoping for the guy to fail is like hoping for the X-Men to fail so I can't abide such a thing.

Too short to play her imo. Storm is supposed to be tall and statuesque not short and petite like Halle Berry was.

You just really limit yourself on a lot of talented black actresses if they need to be 5'9/5'10 or taller.

Lupita isn't tall and a lot of people were calling for her to be cast as Storm.

Cute but you are missing the point.

And who said 5'9-5'10? I'm just saying not like a below average person. For example DeWanda Wise is 5'6 which isn't crazy tall but with heals really can be more than just average height standing next to another man. Also she has a more regal presence which leads me to my other perimeter of regality. Yes, sometimes one can supersede the other but if someone has many of the check boxes then they automatically jump to the top of the list for me.

Again Dewanda has many of the traits I'd want for Storm: high cheek bones dark skin with light eyes and a regal presence. Being taller than average is just icing on the cake but if they have it over a woman who doesn't have those characteristics then she wins easily.

But back to the thread. When does RP1 come out so we might get some more X-Men scoop?

Who is hoping for him to fail anyway. I personally gave him a chance in X3 despite his not so glowing early track record. After Dofp, I gave him two more chances with Fantastic Four and Apocalypse.

eXpecting Kinberg to part of a bad film again isn't hoping for him to fail. Good God, there's a difference. We just don't b**** around about our frustrations here for no reason.

What do you want? People talking daily about a 90's animated series and trending on twitter for you to consider popular? WTF?

The case you're making about the X-Men I can easily make about Friends and Seinfeld because, well, who remembers those shows anyway? They didn't even get a revival like Will and Grace, Gilmore Girls and Full House. Nobody remembers Friends.

X-MEN are only made by FOX because of the success of the FOX Kids show. That's a fact
