Well, a toxic relationship (fox) is in any case better that a relationship where your partner (Disney) always rapes and beats you.

Rogue, Emma, Jubilee and Psylocke have been ra*** by Fox these 18 years.
Im quite shocked you are acting otherwise

... id argue the entire x-men property

other than like.. wolverine, Xavier, and Magneto

Kinberg on Dark Phoenix

“It's much more loyal to the original comic than X-Men 3, which told the Dark Phoenix story,” Kinberg shared with ET’s Carly Steel at the Deadpool 2 premiere. “It's a movie that involves extraterrestrial characters, which is not something that we've done in the X-Men franchise before, and is something that is a huge part of the Dark Phoenix saga in the comics.”

Kinberg added details about the tone of his directorial debut, promising Dark Phoenix will be “a little less operatic” than past X-Men movies, saying, "It’s more intense and it's more real and grounded, and hopefully more relatable.”

At least Storm will have long hair now. So that's something. I honestly thought they were gonna keep it short (the funeral pic)

As for new trilogy plain sucks, I guess that is one reason I just disagree. First Class and DoFP are waaaay better than any of the original three films. And while Apocalypse is a failure, it didn't ruin characters or the franchise the way TLS did. You want to know why 2019 will be the first year we'll have a movie with the classic X-Men members back and starring again? Because TLS killed them off for no good goddamn reason in an effort to set-up only spinoff, standalone prequels and Wolverine movies.

The trilogies pretty much align perfectly for me

First [Good but a little patchy]

Second [Damn near perfect]

Third [Horrible let down]

Judging by the picture I just saw, she has long, wavy hair (shoulder length)

[BLACKOUT][BLACKOUT]Is this picture from Deadpool 2 by chance? That’s filmed separately and could be a different decade[/BLACKOUT][/BLACKOUT]

To be fair would they really change her hair just for a quick group cameo in [BLACKOUT]deadpool?[/BLACKOUT]

Edit: ah I seen the picture mentioned and storm does have her hair down and its quite curly. Personally I'd be shocked if that was done to be on screen for less then 10 seconds.

Still trying to figure this out.
"Less operatic" yet "more intense, real, and grounded"?

What’s there to figure out? The two approaches are basically polar opposites.

So I saw Deadpool 2. It's hilarious. Probably just as good as the first. I'm torn. I like the scale and scope more, and I think it has more "gags" that land, but the first had a real charm due to the unexpected love story between Wade and Vanessa really working and feeling intimate. This one doesn't have that although its third act still kicks us in the feels.

It is probably the most "comic book" feeling X-Men movie ever made while still being refreshingly its own thing. As I said elsewhere, it feels like it sprang from Ryan Reynolds' personality. If you like it that's great, if you don't, you won't. But it is a full-tilt comic book extravaganza whether through that prism which makes it unique.

Also it leans heavy into referencing and incorporating X-Men as a concept and characters and mythology into the film. While I do think Wade has the ability to jump "universes" if need be, this isn't shy that it's part of the X-universe, for all those thinking it was cutting ties to the Fox films.

[blackout]And my boy, Pete! Peter is a Sugar Bear, dammit! He may not be a mutant, but he's all hero. X-Force! X-Force!!!![/blackout]

I would imagine, more this:

and less this:

or whatever.

Yeah they won't be going to the astral plane to fight. The most interesting part about the interview was him confirming they are going more for a comic accurate portrayal of the source material. Hopefully that means Lilandra and not the Skrull Queen.

Kinberg calling this iteration "comic accurate" is already old news.

Plus I'm pretty sure he's already used that descriptor before for his other works, too.

Since they started filming though all he and the cast have been talking about is the "grounded drama" aspect so it's nice to know that that still might be something to be hopeful for, for me at least. Also I wonder if Storm's hair is results of the reshoots. Who knows?

A prerelease interview where Kinberg double-talks and over-promises, even his fans are confused.

For the rest of us, this is old news and not the least bit surprising.

To be fair there is nothing the guy can say at this point that won't get a negative backlash from you.

Although i dont feel like ne made any over-promises in that quote.

I’m 95% sure that wig’s just for Deadpool 2. It’s a big-budget movie; they’re not going to use one wig for two different appearances that are meant to take place decades apart.

When it's just for less then 10 seconds what's the point? I can't see them doing anymore hair and make up just to stand there for a shot.

That would certainly be commitment. But probably not worth it overall.

Also looking at it [BLACKOUT]I don't think Jean is there. That's Probably not foreshadow but people will probably read into it that way [/BLACKOUT]
